Wow. Really creative Patricius Maximus. ;D

I've got a lot of ideas to steal here  :P errr... borrow (without permission) :D

Yep, I still got it.

Pat.Max. that is a very nice intersection!

And frdrcklim: my guess it is considered borrowing as long as you don't say it is your own idea: then we may call it stealing. And I also think you have permission to use everything you see on this site as inspiration (which is another word for borrowing...)

Patricius Maximus

frdrcklim: You have my permissio, anyway. As long as you don't say it was your idea. I've borrowed some ideas from here myself...

Thank you for your compliments.

Not the biggest "interchange", but I guess it can help people.

That's nice, Casper!  You have just proven that something doesn't need to be huge to have large amounts of detail.

Here's another one of my concoctions.  It may not accomplish anything too terribly great, but...

...it does allow a diagonal road to intersect at-grade with a diagonal RHW.  Of course, it's technically connecting with another type of network.  Can anyone figure which one it is?

Is it this network split up?

The other thing is, this avenue traffic light here is clearly red after a two tile intersection, despite where the stop point is, but it works. Not that I am a fan of replacing the Maxis traffic lights after avenue intersections, but again this prooves it can and will work.

It is the split diagonal avenue, j-dub, created with diagonal GLR-in-Avenue puzzle pieces.  (I love that technique $%Grinno$%)  I wish the traffic light wasn't there, since it is supposed to be a rural intersection, but it was the only way that I could make this intersection work.  Until a new version of the RHW is released that allows more diagonal functionality, this is what I'll resort to.  According to DrawPaths, this instersection is fully functional.

Its not like you could take a long diagonal street piece, and place that down instead? It avoids the light, but its a street. I will have to try for myself, because diagonal street pieces versus drawing seem to have allowed me previous diagonal options before. Long ago, I did get a diagonal avenue to cross a diagonal street, but that wasn't split.

Pat

Hey J-Dub I would love to see that pic without the paths on, if you wouldnt mind...

I could, but I intended for this to be a road crossing.  This is supposed to be a secondary state road intersecting an RHW.  The only other alternative would be to place a diagonal street puzzle piece at the intersection and transition to a diagonal road after the street is far enough away.

Using the diagonal street puzzle pieces, I can easily create an intersection with any diagonal avenue, split or not.  You are absolutely correct in saying that the puzzle pieces allow more diagonal options than drawing, j-dub.  Did you know that you can cross a diagonal rail with a diagonal street puzzle piece?  It doesn't seem to be possible with normal drawing.

Sadly, you are right. I think the reason Maxis didn't do the diagonal streets may be because how when you zone, it seems to get confused with facing the right directions, wether single at once, or click and drag between, at least for me. As for diagonal pieces versus drawing, the two don't seem to be getting along right next to each other so much for me. I do prefer the pieces in some situations for the very limited diagonal at diagonal crossings. Pat, I will post that pic without the paths, before I made this a jpg, the png was easier to spot, but that takes bandwidth. Its just that I put the paths on, becausee the light in the left lane doesn't have a stop point under it, except on a different tile, and I thought someone should get the proof of that. Heres how it looks both sides, in reality its more of a 2x3 kind of crossroad. It looks light the signals are on the tile its working with, but the stop point is two tiles before hand, I think alot of thought, and effort was put in to whoever made this intersections, that they got the signals to work further away.

Look closely, zoom in with IE's non-pixelating magnifying glass if you will, the light is not green here.

Great work there with that tunnel, caspervg!
Nice work there, @ all!

Here's one of my more interesting intersections, at the edge of a downtown, called "Five Tails". Pretty awkward to drive though, I suppose.  $%Grinno$%
