My appologizes. Its actually just the name of the program, which is misleading, because it sounds like a domain.  With out the dot net, its just paint, but its not the same paint that came with your computer, just something with alot more tools. By the way, I do use MS paint frequently for saving png to jpeg. MS paint is good for simple work. I wouldn't be able to make gradients with MS paint though.

Oh! I was reading the post from gmail and it showed up as a hyperlink, so I thought you were trying to link to it, but it was just gmail recognizing it as a link.

Tip about image conversion. Windows XP comes with another program--Microsoft Picture Manager--that makes it a whole lot easier to convert pngs to JPEGs. Just open the png in Picture Manager, and hit export, and set the JPEG custom compression setting to 100%. Then the JPEGs are crystal-clear.

But you're right, MS Paint wouldn't work for any of the fancy stuff like creating that grass texture.

Its only a 60 day trial, I only have 15 days left before its unusable. Cheat?

Patricius Maximus

Yes, I know. The only way I know of to make it permanent is to purchase a Microsoft Office edition. Any one will do. I just got the cheapest one with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Picture Manager.

Well, since this thread is called "Show Us Your Intersections" (and not Interchanges :P), I will show a new intersection of mine!

when vehicles in SC4 are spawned they are at a random angle, then if they appear on a road then they snap to the paths before you notice it (unless the game is paused, you can tell then) if it's not on a road then they disappear. ever looked real close around a traffic generator?
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

I think it just depends on how the computer reacts. My game, when I take out a road, and it isn't physically there where its grass, a car or two will drive on it still, with out dissapearing untill the traffic simulator resets, despite the path not being there. This didn't happen when I had the XP.

Here is an intersection with 4 slip lanes, which is rather common in my area.  Instead of unstable TE puzzle pieces lots that can cause CTDs, I have used RHW and MIS ramps.

Great work there on the streets and roads and so on, Haljackey!

Yours also a very nice intersection, metarvo!

This is my new turbine interchange. I could have done this with RHW but there are certain things that you cant do with RHW when you are going to have space issues when you develop the area. Therefore i used OWR. There are transfer lanes from the inner to outer lanes there just not in the picture ;)
Im back baby! Everybody do the Bendah!

nerdly_dood

I think I've posted a (slightly photoshopped) picture of an intersection with slip lanes like that somewhere although i don't remember exactly where; my version also uses the NAM avenue left turn lanes, but not the center turning lane avenue thing.

Wonderful interchange there in that nice picture, pagenotfound! Great work on it!

haljackey: Nice intersection. I saw that in the GTR a while back. Yes, this thread is called "intersections" and not interchanges. I guess you could call an interchange a grade-seperated intersection, but perhaps junction would be more appropiate. Anyway, the title is good as it is, since it is open to all kinds of junctions, grade-separated or at-grade.

metarvo: Good intersection. The only thing that causes TE Lots to cause a crash is when a puzzle piece goes over them. That's why it's dangerous for me to have RHW near the JRJ Seawall set pieces, as some are TE'd for streets.

pagenotfound: Nice turbine! I'd use NAM overhead pieces instead of tunnels myself. Yes, sometimes RHW is not appropiate for an area, so we default to OWR's. They're nice and compact.

metarvo

Thank you for the compliments, bat and Patricius Maximus.  I have corrected my post accordingly, Patricius Maximus.  I now realize that I may have gotten carried away with my statement about the TE lots.  I know that they can be used safely as long as they are used properly.

Nothing new here as in features wise, just construction wise. Sure I have two highways next to each other, but due to traffic flow, I had to do stuff this way. What you are seeing here, is Avenues (some split), Maxis Highways, OneWays, and some Rural Highway, and a regular roadway. Just looks different is all.

j-dub: Are those puzzle pieces with the new RHW texture? And what's that 2-lane road texture by the water?

Which pieces? That road over there, ended up being a change in planes of alignment.
