Pretty neat update, Jen. I love your terrace work!

bat

That "terrace-area" is looking very great, jen!

Yoman

While that is extremely impressive, you might consider getting a slope mod, I doubt a car can climb that angle :P

Wow, beautiful! I love the "before-and-after" feel with the undeveloped zones, then the shot of them developed. Great job, jen_p!

jayo

Amazing  ;) ;) ;) Like your zoning  :P

At least it'll be a breeze to push-start your car. :D

Very nice terraced area. It wouldn't look out of place in either San Francisco or New Zealand. :P

I've gone off on a tangent again. I've started a new region with a new plugins folder. This time I haven't really gone for a theme, it's just lots of buildings that I like. Usually I play large sized cities, but this time, seeing as I will move it across to my old laptop I've been playing only medium sized tiles.

The first city, Moncreiffe gets off to a pleasant start:

Pretty soon the area starts to change:

An industrial area starts bringing more people in to the town:

Suddenly, the city is booming:

One of the oldest parts of town now:

Big business comes to Moncreiffe:

And finally, a bit of an overview. Does anyone want to shop at Nordstroms? My cities never grow just one of a building:

As usual, another great update. I'm intrigued with that green highrise. Is that available somewhere?

jen_p

The green highrise is a commercial building by Bixel, available at ST.

Hopefully I will have some time later on today to post an update.

Thanks Jen_p for the info. Thanks Thundercracker for the link, but it didn't work for me. I did find it by doing a bixel search.

jen_p

Jayo, which embankment pieces are you talking about? If they're in one of the pics I've posted tell me which one, please.

I didn't get the update posted last night, obviously, I went out for dinner instead (good Mexican), but here it is now.

beautiful update jen! Very nice canal area, and Matt's houses look great next to the canals.

rooker1

Awesome update.  The canal looks very well placed among the rest of the city.  It looks like a nice place to live.

nova vesfalo

it's so LOVELY ! the canal makes the feelings as the building choise ! The matt house and the dutch (whatever it is :) ) building are coherent, like it :) and the mid rise are fabulous here (btw what are their names and where can I find it ? never seen them before...)

thundercrack83

Beautiful work, jen_p! Broadhurst looks amazing. I love the mosaic in the last picture, too! Keep up the good work!

jen_p

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you all like it. I have had quite a bit of fun with this region because I haven't given myself any rules or restrictions. I usually have a framework that I work within ie. big American city, Adelaide suburbs, etc.

nova vesfalo, I think the buildings that you are referring to are the HK garden estate towers by Bixel. I may be wrong, and I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct name.

Here is a quick update from another city, called Langrish. A commercial area in front of various apartment buildings:

More commercial:

Police and Fire:

Commercial and residential:

Low wealth towers next to the tram line:

More residential:
