As promised, here is the airport update. Around the other side of the airport is the international terminal.

More parking than you can poke a stick at:

Some night time shots:

The stop for buses and hotel shuttles:

Fantastic pictures of your airport! Wonderful work on it!

thundercrack83

Wow! Your airport is stunning, jen_p! Absolutely stunning! I love the terminals and all the parking! Great work!

Badsim

Well , I wouldn't have thought about that use for TNeu Building ...The result is spectacular indeed . I didn't like that much the use of Ympyratalo ... but with your creativity you can be proud of this stunning and unique airport .  &apls

I've never really liked the look of avenues. I don't care for the median strip down the centre, I would prefer to see a raised grass strip maybe with the odd tree, something less manicured.

I agree so much with that ! I'm surprised that no Modder have thought seriously about that subject. Personally I can bear only the medium wealth avenues - for streetlights - (so I've began to change all my new Lots wealth with LEprop ...) . You can try the  No Junk Mod by Pegasus , but that time It's truly looking too bare . We need something between these extremes .... ::)

I also prefer the lighter colour of the rural highways. I would be happy if all the roads/streets/highways were that colour...

I agree too with the fact that roads/streets/highways should have the same color and this one ... Maxis ' roads are fresh for eternity .

Already said ? I love your visible skill everywhere in this MD . ;)

Interesting usage of that monolithic BAT at an airport.

Looks ok. Maybe out of place.

And if you like lighter roads just use streets with a high capacity modifier. JRJ's streetside mod is highly recommended also.
The most astounding and unique aspect of the human race is our fervent application of our ingenuity to kill each other, thus completely defying the near-universally proven fact that the ultimate goal of a member of a species is to ensure the survival of the species.

Great!

Where can I get the props needed to make these kind of airports?

Super work on the airport.  It looks very realistic.  I like the fence around it, so many people forget this small detail.

Maxis' roads are fresh for eternity.
So true. I think that is why I don't like the dark roads, but I always feel that the streets and highways are too light for my tastes. The rural highway is a happy medium.

Madeira: The airport packs are ACP VLT RMIP thingys with lots of acronyms. Look here at the lex and also at Simtrop.

Anyway, here are some more images from Windmeade, around the airport.

Fast food:

The International Terminal Railway Station:

All of the swanky hotels were constructed on this side of the airport:

Zoomed out a bit further:

The whole Airport:

Thats a huge, fantastic airport!! Btw, are the parking lots your work? They are the most realistic ones I have seen. Any plans on releasing them if they are....and if they are not, where can I find them?

bat

Beautiful new pictures of that airport! Also great of the railway station and fast food!

rooker1

Great job on the airport.  That thing is huge and very nicely laid out.

NOW that's an AIRFIELD!

Wow jen, you've done a great, GREAT job there.
I am missing a tower though, the flight controll tower I mean (towers from hotels enough, I say).

Madeira aka Constantina

its a very nice international airport

jayo

Missed afew updates ;)Sorry.Amazing airport :)
I'm back

thundercrack83

Massive airport, jen_p! You certainly put a lot of time and effort into that! I haven't figured out those terminal pieces yet! Great job, as always, my friend!

jen_p

nedalezz: The parking lots are mostly my work (there's a couple of NDEX lots in there too) but I have no plans for release. I made them really quickly (they're very easy to chuck together) and Barby would shoot me for bad lotmaking.

NikNik: Oops. I meant to look around for a control tower and I forgot.

thundercrack83: It took me a while to work out the terminal pieces (actually all of the airport pieces) before I got this result. I don't know how many times I bulldozed and started again.

Now, onto the update (apologies for the lateness, I blame a inadequately heated cheese and bacon pie):

This one's a new city, called Wainwright. Here's the road into town:

Architectural variety:

High voltage power lines run along the edge of the city:

A small civic area:

Apartment towers are set amongst lush green spaces, whilst a canal weaves its way through the city:

A small pedal boat concession is near the old hospital:

A few Z4 shots. Why do those hotels always grow in pairs?

Fantastic update, Jen_p! Great work with the canals! Wonderful pictures!

NikNik

Great work.
I love your dry comment: "Architectural variety"
I do hate it in my cities when this variety comes up, but you seem to give the smile back to SC4, thank you Jen!
I just love those powerlines cutting across the city. We do not see them often in SC4 CJ's so  &apls

Hi Jen. I just browsed through your last two updates. i really like the way you play the game. You have a nice mixture of old and new, industry is next or near commercial disctricts - such as - The placement of Jess power plant behind the water tower and near the main street style commercial distrcit is something that I would see in real life.
