Ennedi

It's very interesting!

I have a strange feeling - this image distortion is shifting my attention to some particular details: an underground parking, Towne Bank entrance, the billboard... And this house in the bottom right corner is my favourite!

But of course it can be the case described by RippleJet :D and maybe I was playing too much too... but it always causes interesting experiences  :D

The intersection of the Coast Highway and McWilliams Street in the small town of New Barrington in Santa Maria Parish, Costa del Tuskalusa. Founded in 1744 as a landing for coastal barques shortly after England took control of Costa del Tuskalusa, the town burned in 1887 and was rebuilt in the Victorian style. In 1890 the North Coast Railway passed 1/2 mile inland of the old pier and the town grew to meet New Barrington Station. In the late 1950's a few of the historic buildings were torn down for new commercial structures and public outrage quickly lead to the formation of the historic district on the Coast Highway. Today, New Barrington is a bedroom community a few miles outside of the City of Tuskalusa, most citizens commute to the city by train. The fire station on the corner serves as the fire station, police station, and city offices as it has since 1889.

Oh WOW Kevin!  &apls &apls

It's very small town. :P Reminds me of my parents' home and the town I grew up in. :)

I like it!  ()stsfd()

Nice pictures everyone! It's nice to see small towns receive all this attention.

Big Slark: That has to be one of best combinations of my stuff and JB's that I have seen. Matt's fire station serves as the perfect anchor for your town. I like the building on the opposite corner with the big parking lot. A lot of old small towns have that one lot that was cleared and rebuilt with a modern sprawl building set way back from the street with ample parking. Nice touch.

BigSlark

Thank you, spa. I thought about bulldozing Pussy Cleaners and the Tire Store (I think its by Deadwoods), then I got to thinking about how old Main Streets were "modernized" in the 1950's and 60's, so I left it.

Cheers,
Kevin

Chrisadams3997

It's also SG if I'm not mistaken, from his small shops pack.

BigSlark

I just checked and you are correct, Chrisadams. It just "looked" like a Deadwoods BAT to me for some reason or another.  Its hard to keep everything straight when you have 3.15 GB of plugins... $%Grinno$%

Kingston is the last major town leaving Newcastle on the eastern side.

Mascot is a little village along the Princes Highway.

Khiyana

I had a little time to play....

Chrisadams3997

Khiyana:  That's a fairly well composed image.  I love the sidewalks and how they are integrated into the other paths in the city.  The building with the arsenal mural on the back is also rather interesting, what is it out of curiosity?

Duvad:  I like the building styles in the residentials in your pics, and the fences you've put around them look great, I've always disliked how many maxis houses don't have fences.  I'm asumming that took a long time in LE, lol.  The street layouts are also interesting and varied.  My only critique is that the commercials could be more representative of the area, they look a little displaced.  And are the large open areas pastures or sports fields of some kind?

Anyway, I had some time to play as well, lol.  This is just downtown, I'm sure I'll get around at intervals to showing some of the rest of the town.

Downtown Jackson

Yea, I couldn't resist the photoshopping.

rushman5

Nice!  It reminds me of a small pennsylvanian town such as Lebanon.

nerdly_dood

Nice photoshoppage to make it look like a different angle ;d

My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Glory be unto the modder and unto the fun and unto the city game!

BigSlark

Chris,

Your Jackson reminds me of my Jackson with a strange street layout and mix of midrise and lowrise buildings.

Nice work!

Cheers,
Kevin

Yeah, I've been trying to redo the commercial area with more wall to wall non-Maxis buildings... but for some reason the Dusktrooper mod isn't working. And those green fields are actually cricket grounds.:p Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport in the world, a bat and ball game like baseball but quite different, and is more popular in British-colonised areas such as the Carribean and Asia.
