...I'm really liking the fusion design... an interesting take on  a 'pottery barn'...

Here in the states we have 'Cabelas', 'Bass Pro Shop', 'Scheel's all sports'... what variations of outdoor stores and superstores does Australia have  ()what()  and then what would make in this style as an outdoor store -perhaps even a fictional chain store, a bank or two  &idea,

so any new ideas using this style or is all a surprise waiting to be sprung...  %confuso

So hows the Aussie winter going... here its 90F humidity in the 70's, and it sucks as I do not have air conditioning and my small apartment is a stifling 87F with a hot and crabby kitty cat -owly grumbly over how hot it is... cats I tell ya -so I through her in the shower  :D

how would a filling station look in the fusion style  ()what()  til next time...

XiahouDun

Oh I approve &apls Thats looking fantastic! Looking at the picture before reading your comment below it made me think "looks like something I'd see when I'm in California". Makes me think of Santa Cruz or Monterey.

You may have meant to search for Houdini. (result of searching for XiahouDun on SC4D)

Thanks guys

Pills and coffee fusion?

@Jack - after that short cold spell, we had terrible wind storms (typical feature at least one each season) with wind gusts of about 80mph and heavy rain, but it made the weather much milder - now it's about 50F as I type and most days are around 60F, so winter is almost over. Perfect cat weather I imagine  ;)

Filling stations and the like would be fairly straight forward in this style, as would some of those other stores you mentioned - once I get a few more buildings I'll put them together on a larger lot so it looks more like a shopping centre :satisfied:

Mattb325...

  about all I can say, as it all looks good to me, really like the kind of 'atmosphere look' the fusion style seems to state... Over-the-counter or caffeine those Sims will never know or at least be left guessing  :D

... nothing really to say today, its hot muggy and cloud bursting rains kind of day here... hearing about weather down under has changed some notions, assumptions I had about the weather patterns... so the march  of seasons begins in earnest again or soon as its still the dog-days of summer here.

The Packers training camp has come and gone and Packer family night is coming up -I sure wish I had tickets for that and some home games... the waiting list is sooo long  :(, it would be a miracle to finally get to see and experience a game live... go figure -I live so near, yet so far  &mmm

...perhaps  &idea a GB-Packers Pub and grill, fan hang-out would work in this fusion style

Jack  :sunny: 8-)

PS

Its been awhile,  %confuso so I hope that you are well, and RL is treating you well  and that developments will continue with the present projects, ;) looking forward to their release and the nu variation in creating a 'life-style or town center' shopping mall -its what that type of shop centers are being called in the states...

Thankyou everyone, I'm glad you like the last building. (jpj_starfleet - only 108? When I was in Vegas last July/August it was 120 with about 80% humidity  :-[  - It's a fun town though)

Moving south south west from Exhibition Rd we land at Lennox Gardens in Kensington. Some very pretty 5 floor terraces overlook the small common:

In typical Queen Anne style it blends italianate (the balustrades) with dutch and parisienne sensibilities.

These are really great looking. Had you considered doing a version with just white rendered walls on the front and then the brown bricks on the back?
I find that alcohol, taken in sufficient quantities, can bring about all the effects of drunkenness.

Hi and hello Mattb325,

...just popping in to whats been happening of late...  %confuso

trust that RL isn't too much a drag and everything is well and good down under... as its blending in to late fall with winter teases chilling the nose  $%Grinno$%... the Packers are a roll of sorts -if they didn't have defense their offense couldn't make it up the hill... sometimes I think they ought to go back to high school but I'm a Packer Backer no matter what... so who is your favorite to root for team?

looking forward to the projects hitting the LEX...

Hi everyone

Not much to report on the batting front as RL has indeed hit...in a good way though.

We are having just beautiful spring weather and it seems like every one wants to take advantage of the long, but cool days, so the computer scarcely even gets turned on!

Hope to finish up some more of the London stuff and the project for the mall as well as finish some other releases which were in the last prop pack release....stay tuned I guess  :)

mightygoose

glad to here you are still alive. and it is good to enjoy the weather.
NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

good, glad to know all is well...

Sounds as though spring has indeed sprung down-under,
even as snow barks on the winds of Wisconsin up-top  $%Grinno$%

a couple weeks ago we had a wind storm of record breaking strength as it hasn't been this low of a 'low pressure' system around here for over twenty years -least that's what I heard  %confuso, the wind would have been like a hurricane 2 or 3 as it was gusty over 60mph in places... goes to show how weather systems vary northern to southern hemispheres... I think it might of been a harbinger of a change or shift because the mid-term elections changed things dramatically -like the wind blowing leaves out of the yard   ???  ::)

I'm already looking froward to spring and planting the gardens...  :D

I'll stay tune watching for the project updates and eventual LEX release

mattb325

Thanks mightygoose/jack_wilds - hope the early northern winter isn't terrorising you too much.

We have had yet another bout of very wet weather (Most of eastern Australia has been going through wide-spread persistent flooding for the last 6 months), so fired up the PC again.

Added another piece to the mall pack. A service station....in Southern California, I was quite impressed with how integrated these were with the overall mall design. We have something similar here, but it is usually KMART tyre and auto services which are tacked onto the parking lot, so certainly not as 'pretty' as the US counterparts.
When these are released (eventually  $%Grinno$% ) the plan is to have both a megamall lot and individual growables at the lower stages - I'm always hunting around for moderately sized, low density commercial to complement suburban areas.

cubby420

Wow all your recent work over the past six months or so has been excellent. Can't wait to see some of these released. Those rowhomes (1x1 correct?) and the mall set will be too perfect once released.

mattb325... I love the diversity your contributions make to my plugins folder.. and the best part about custom content is when they grow on my canvas!

Looking forward to growing your latest creations.. ;D

Thank you for sharing...  ()flower()

Thankyou guys, glad you like this.

Another couple of shots - these are really just tests, but I'm reasonably satisfied with how they turned out.

The Motorola Offices (complements the Nokia one from a few pages back)

Novotel.

This one will probably get some more tweaking: however as it stands, the raised patio/terrace (the main entrance is underneath the pool area - visible on the side views, but no so much the front view ) has LODs designed in such a way so that the pools, shrubbery, tables and bar are prop families, meaning you will get a different set of patio props each time the BAT grows.

joelyboy911

Very, very nice. I like that Motorola office, a lot. Not sure if the lotting is complete, but maybe some parking space lines would be a good idea in the carpark area?

Really nice buildings, but what I appreciated more it's your lotting skills  &apls &apls &apls

Hello Mattb,

Really glad that your still up to building bats...

especially excited with the mid-rise office towers -very good, just some lot tweaking but how & what  %confuso...

concerning the Texaco mini-mart gas station, I like it over-all with the choice of colors and textures however withe the lot It appears that the one shown is sized better for a single gas island/canopy  ???... perhaps a next bigger lot for two island/canopies... but I am not seeing the vehicle way ins-outs to well in the pics so I may be incorrect with my assumptions...  %wrd (...took a second look -never mind it looks good  &ops)

So with the making of the 'mall' a name may be in order for the big lotted version -ie 12 oaks center, Pine Valley mall, also these type of shopping centers use the term 'life-style centers' to describe their market niche

with the mall lot in mind... a complete development campus can be envisioned with out lots for the mid-rises your making... don't forget about eateries and hotels...  &idea

Looks really nice there Matt ! I love the shape of the Novotel.

cant wait to see the mid-rise offices hit the lex :) It seems (to me at least) that most commercial buildings being produced are either hi-rise or lo-rise, not many mid-rise, and these will help fill that void. Also, like all your models, they look FANTASTIC

noahclem

Great looking midrises, "fusion" buildings, etc! These will all be great to have for my suburban areas!
