Thanks everyone, there still is some demand for buidings in that 4-10 floor range to help with very large suburban areas, so I'm glad you like them

I like Jacks' name suggestions, so when the mega lot gets put together, it will need a sign:

Also, made a small garden centre in this style - nothing flash, but you often find these in the corner of the car park down at these mega malls....

It was inspired by Jacks other name for the mall: '12 Oaks'  :P

I just went through your last three pages of "Goodies"...oh my....what can I say then I lov' em all. Great stuff, all looks so fantastic, well detailed and perfectly textured. Surely some more *must-downloads* these will be. ;) Excellent work!

Hey Mattb,

glad my notions had some value inspiration -thanks for creating something worth looking at, as a result...  ;)

the garden/landscape center is really neat,  it has the look of such a center in Darboy... I owned a landscape business for almost 3 years before everything went wrong, so what the center needs now is a coffee shop for my mid-day breaks  :P

any thoughts about a tavern/sports club aka Applebees, or johnny rockets or
The Travers -a short lived upscale supper club  &idea

I think the mall is a really neat project...

Thanks for the comments.  :satisfied: ;D

Jack - all the good garden centres have a coffee shop :) Sorry to hear that business didn't go well for you. :(

I made the main part of the mall (all the buildings up to now have been ancilliary.

And, now that the main building is complete, I have assembled the mega lot. It is 16x16 tiles. I have network enabled the lot (the mega lot is a ploppable only) to help with the crime bug, but if you download this once released I would definitely recommend my suburban police station (or another police station made with the PIM-x which allows the police officers to travel deeper into the lot) as these mega lots always suffer terribly from crime.

Night shot:

The idea with the previous growable lots I have made was to ensure that the set was quite modular.

You can see here the main mall lot (plopped) surrounded by the growable lots (I used Buggis extra cheats to plop these around). You can achieve quite a massive complex. Just be sure that CS demand is sufficient before ploppong the main lot as it provides 10K worth of jobs.

I will package up these model files within the next few days and release these shopping centre bats as their own prop packs

noahclem

Wow, the megalot looks amazing!  &apls &apls  I can't wait to develop an area around it!

@ Jack_wilds - The tavern idea in the same style as these sounds great. If I didn't already know you were from Wisconsin your use of the term "supper club" would give it away!  :D

...wow Mattb, awesome looking place to be and shop...  &apls

Not much to say at the moment however I will chime in, on an offer of a heartfelt Merry Christmas to all  :)

noahclem: ya der hey! want that with mashed or fried potatoes -its all family fare here  :D

Thanks Noah and Jack. The main dependency for the shopping mall is on the Lex and I will get the growable and ploppable lots uploaded soon.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. It was lovely and sunny here in Sydney, but it was short-lived: we are now back to heavy rain and quite cool for summer. Oh well, perfect batting weather I guess.  :P

Another few small buildings for the 3x3 and 4x4 zones:

Glasco Smith Klein Packaging: an IHT. Nothing much to say about this one....it may change before the final release

Next a CS$$$. Space furniture showroom. Modern design, sunken external courtyard to the front and side.

Last of this bunch is Sagra Technologies. A CO$$$. This one actually sits on its own little hill and was quite enjoyable to model. Again, a fairly modern design. At the very least it makes a departure from everything on a flat surface...

More soon.... :)

Wow &apls

I had wondered (with the shopping mall dependency on the LEX) what was in store (unintended;-))

That's a huge project that will be be of great use to me. They have the right mix of variety and uniformity that comes in especially useful when using the plugin manager and creating different cities with unique feels.

However, I love those new three even more, particularly sagre and space &apls Such architecturally quirky and interesting, yet realistic modern buildings - this balance is rarely achieved in SC4 creation. Merry Holidays ;)

Good stuff, the hill is particularly interesting and quite unique I think among SC4 bats. The others, especially the GSK HT look great too. Can't wait for the mall lots  ;D

Oh and Jack, I'll take mine mashed, preferably with reindeer and lingonberries  ;)

Tomas Neto

Very fantastic your BATs!!! Mainly the mall!!!   &apls &apls

peter007

Wow it's looking great. I surely like your megalot because we don't have much her in sc4

Girafe

Nice job Matt, I really appreciate the difference in height for Sagra  &apls &apls

the only strange thing is the nightlighting of the last bat, it looks unrealistic

LOTs are superb as always

Hey Matt of Aussieland,

Thanks for the mall it turned out great however,

-it broke my Christmas trees, as  the developer took the tree farm -by way of a sheriff sale, and plopped this big ugly thing on it  &cry2...  :D  :P  the troubles with having a natural resource/civil engineer tech degrees is I want to conserve and develop lands with such things  ???

Christmas was good here with steady flaky magical Christmas snows wafting down... the horses were getting a real big kick out it  :D plus my cousins came and got me to have it with 'em on the farm been fours since I got to do that  :)

the  pop-modern commercial buildings are interesting, as neat as the 'sagra' is, I like the 'space furniture' one best... some tweaking with the lights on sagra, gsk lot and they will be good to go...

noahclem: so sorry but we don't serve reindeer here but the semi-creamy mashed potatoes -with real apple butter, comes with the home-style outdoor venison roast-local whitetail,(veggies are also roasted along with the venison, spiced with the great northwoods) with pot roasted garden veggies, a baked cranberries/lingonberries/pinenuts compot with brown sugar on top drizzled with door county fudge chocolate, a choice of pie, and icecream -ayce salad bar is extra... we here at Jack's Pinewood supper club serve everything family style in a classy casual atmosphere over looking lake sawyer  :)  ::) bon appetit  ;)

Trust that all is well in your neck-of-the-woods free of any Noah's Ark sightings  :D

May your Christmas be merry and bright,

Happy New Year  &dance

I think the parking areas could use some lighting and the Sagra building would look better with some potted plants and the like on it's terraces, but other than that these are some great looking buildings.

I love, love, love that hill that the Sagra building is set into.  That is a really neat looking little addition.

So happy to see buildings these size and fits for the game, it is really lacking things of this nature for the smaller cities and suburbs.

mattb325

Thingfishs, Aaron Graham, noahclem, Thomas Neto, peter007, Giraffe, Sciurus, Jack and Utvaw, thankyou all for your kind words.

I will be re-tweaking the Sagra lights prior to release. Also I test all my Bats under various 'dark night' mods that are out there: that picture was done with one of them in the plug-ins, and it exacerbates the odd contrasts on that BAT.

As promised, I re-visited GSK packaging. Added some detailing, sharpened the window frames, changed the roof texture, added quite a bit to the back of the BAT, raised the left and front part of it up on a little hill (don't worry, I'm not going to do a hill-gimmick on every Bat!  ::) $%Grinno$% ) I also added some lighting around the car park. I'm much happier with this version as opposed to the first render.

Also rendered another small set of 4-floor offices....

....a small set of 5-floor R$$ apartments/condominiums. These are designed for a 3x3 lot as shown. They will also fit snugly on a 2x2 lot and will work as W2W. As it isn't intended as a W2W, there are balconies, etc down the sides....

....and a larger set of R$$ 7 floor apartments. 3x3 and 4x4 lot. This one has quite a few pot-plants/etc on the balconies, but as they are quite narrow for the SC4 angle, I left the bulk of them somewhat empty:

More soon.....

mattb325.... seasons greetings!

... though, for me, you can make it feel like the holidays all year long.  :D

I love the implementation of 'slopes on lots'. Being a 'coastal' resident level terrain is 'very' expensive...

mattb25 - we need some more generic, good looking mid-rise office and commercial buildings.  These look great.  I'm working on some myself, but won't have them out for a long while due to RL stuff.  One thing I would suggest is either adding a few little tiny modelled elements inside, or using a floor texture which gives the appearance of "interest" or desks, chairs, whatnot - that way it doesn't look like a barren office inside the windows when they are lit up at night...!  Otherwise, these look great!
