Well, that looks like a worthy replacement for the Maxis TV station. I'm looking forward to downloading it! :)

Nice! This will greatly replace the Maxis TV station indeed!

Whoa, that looks seriously cool alright! The Maxis TV station is a joke in comparison (although I generally like the Maxis stuff). ;)

Wow that's my favourite so far, I love all the little details and the night lighting is really beautiful. Great job
Pay heed to the tales of old wives. It may well be that they alone keep in memory what it was once needful for the wise to know.

Swordmaster

Wonderful! Agree about the nightlighting--stunning. Though you should make a Letterman sim throwing stuff off the roof :D

Unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of buildings left in this style.  Like you said, LA probably has the most, including the very cool looking Academy Theater in Inglewood CA:

The style wasn't reserved for fancy buildings though - even the local Firestone tire shop got a little flair:

Drive-ins are fun in this style too:

One of my all time favorite ship designs, the Seattle ferry Kalakala was also in the Streamline style.

Keep it up Matt!

Hey 'Coug,

Are you still planning on releasing those mobile homes?

Looking forward to those. :bnn:

c.p.

Definitely way better than the Maxis TV station.  I love the nightlighting.  I think it will be easily identifiable at night even in a far out zoom.

@ Simcoug...so many wonderful bats so little time  :-\  :D

Thanks for the comments everyone (except heartless who has decided to turn my thread into a discussion about someone else's stuff).

The TV station turned out rather nicely...it's almost a let-down to do a more mundane building. This one is still in LA. It is a tarted up version of the Golden State Insurance Company on 1999 West Adams Blvd:

It's available here: http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/30923-golden-state-insurance/

Oh, and I released the Waringah Chambers Council Building from a few pages back

SOOO BEAUTIFUL!
I'm planning to do my own lots and ploppables in a few months (Whenever i move comps) and I was wondering what you use to make your stuff? I love it!

O. M.G.! Yay! These are awesome! I already downloaded the Waringah Council Chambers, but I wasn't expecting another one today! Getting it ASAP! Thank you!

I'm excited to see so many cool things under development. The Golden State will provided a much needed corner building. I'm also glad to see some real life businesses to add a special touch to our cities. Keep the awesomeness coming!!

Hi Matt,

I just noticed that you uploaded the Chicago Grand Central Station over at the STEX. It's a lovely building alright, but apparently, there's some problem with the LODs, they severely cut into the trees (at least on my system), see screenshot. Also, some trees are not centered into the dirt circles properly, maybe you can fix this issue?

That model looks like the test render - not the one on my system and not the one that should have been uploaded (it's missing the side chimney and many pipes)  ???

The model should look like this and won't cut into the trees:

Are you using the DN or MN version?

Andreas

#975
I'm using the MN version, maybe you picked the old test rendering by accident?

EDIT: The DN version looks fine!
Andreas

mattb325

Let me fix that - I'll need to re-render the MN day version as for some reason the model is picking up the test rendered version.

Doing DN and MN (day and night) versions is such a nuisance as they use the same TGI, but unfortunately that strange workflow is the price one pays for the current Bat4Max rig.

Thanks for letting me know

mattb325

The Maxis Nite version has been re-rendered and has been updated. If you are a Maxis Nite user, definitely bulldoze any plopped instances of the station and re-download the file: http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/30925-chicago-grand-central-terminal/

Additionally, the catalogue capacity did not match the station capacity of 50,000. The catalogue capacity is not used by the simulator, but it is best practice to have these numbers match.  :)

Thank you Matt for all your great work. I would like to welcome you back to SC4. You are one of my favourite Batters and I am very happy to see more high quality Bats coming from you.  :) Any changes that you will do more London style Bats?  ;)

Bipin

Fabu-tastic work on that train station my friend!
