The way sims drive......the skule needs to turn out alot of lawyers.....but on a less serious note......you realize that this also calls for a medical school complete with the obligatory hospital.....
Sometimes I go into my own little world....but it's ok, they know me there.

How about the Payup Fronte School of Law? Oh, and UCSB is University California Santa Barbara in pristine Goleta, California. Here's a list of names I came up with for the law school:

Grabyerr Munny & Runn

Coover, Oop, & Thamerder

Taekit & Scramme

Gitmunn, Eeh, Frum, Yor-Eks

That's all I have right now.
Best movie of all time: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. If you disagree, Cameron will send your car over a cliff.

If you decide to make a teaching hospital for the medical school that was suggested above, you might want to name it after the childrens hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The hospital was named after a major benefactor; Izaak Walton Killam. This of course made it the Killam Hospital (no lie!!, I spent eight months there in clerkship, internship and residency).  ;D

Yikes!  It looks like I missed a lot this weekend... I guess I'd better catch up on some replies.

XiahouDun:  Thanks!  Nice naming suggestions... I like the first one especially.   :D

Matt:  Thank you!  I haven't really decided if I'll make a separate law library or not... although I'm leaning towards yes on that one.  More about that in a moment.  I'll have to take a look at that link when I get home later.  The roof isn't actually on the building yet... what you see is just the "attic floor."

Scorer:  Thanks!  I had noticed the tiling effect on that floor (and the first dorm too for that matter) and will certainly fix it before all is said and done.

Pat:  Thank you!  I'm sorry I don't have that link with me at the moment... hopefully when I get home.  My apologies for the delay.

John:  Thanks!  Well, generic isn't always a bad thing... and every college seems to have a couple very nondescript buildings somewhere.

SA:   :D  The business school is already spoken for by the Maloney family and the Swan group.

Existenz:  Either one fits, really!  :D

CalibanX:   :D

Duane:  Stop giving away the secret plans!  ;)  I've got a medical school/hospital planned... although it probably won't be in pack two yet.  Again, more on that in a moment...

TopCliff:  Nice names...  :D

Simdad:  Killam Hospital?  That's hilarious!  (And definitely going to get used!)

So I've taken a short break at the moment.  I was in and out of the house a lot this weekend and when I was home I actually thought I'd play the game for a change!  :o  I finally got around to adding CAM and the new NAM with all its goodies... and basically went on a huge downloading spree on Friday trying to get caught up.  I've missed so many cool things!  So that's kind of what's been going on here the last few days.

In other news, Clayhurst has completed its first stop in Germany and should be headed to Ripplejet's house soon.  He'll be helping with all the reward chains and the translations... both of which are way beyond my abilities.

I'm still thinking some of the reward chains through and trying to decide how they'll finally work out.  I'm thinking there may be some things that are "special" rewards that are more of a "branch" instead of just a link in the chain.  The hospital is a prime example.  I don't want to force someone to choose between medical school or law school... but at the same time I don't want to force them as part of the chain either.  So they may become rewards that have their own set of benefits, but aren't essential to further growing the university.  (I hope that makes sense!)  All just thoughts and ideas right now...

I'll probably have more tonight when I get home,
JB

Duane:  It certainly is a nice way to pass the time... I'd nearly forgotten!  :D

Pat:  I actually did not SAM yet... although I'm doing a lot of farms right now, so I may try out the new dirt road textures soon.

I don't have any visual updates again tonight.  I had a 13 hour day today and the same coming up tomorrow again... so I probably won't get much modeling done again until Wednesday.  I did manage to work out some small things here and there that are a little more "future" oriented.  I'm also in the process of cleaning up some older files.  I got all the queries finished that I forsee needing for any future university packs... and am also in the process of hammering out the final reward chains for the future expansions.  I'm trying to do this now so that everything gets organized properly from the beginning.  One of the "problems" I ran into with the school packs was the little additions that meant these tiny prop packs uploaded with each new school pack volume.  It wasn't really a bad thing, but it just got messy.  So I'm trying to avoid that this time.

I'm also taking this opportunity to clean up some of those past "messes."  In the near future, those of you that keep a watchful eye will probably see just about every single one of my LEX releases get updated.  This will be the result of my cleaning process.  I'm pulling all my queries into one place... pulling small prop packs together... that sort of thing.  I'm hoping to do this in a way that will keep the need to redownload things to an absolute minimum.  In fact, I think the only thing you may have to download over will be my first mega prop pack.  Most of the updates will just be for the readmes to point to new dependencies.  Cleanitol should take care of the rest.  I'll make sure to keep you updated here when that starts to happen.  And, if there is any confusion at that time... this will be the best place to ask! ;)

@Jon: That sounds a lot like me - modding stuff for weeks and months, but some day, you'll decide to play a bit - but not for long, since...

... I did that (trying the SAM), and after five minutes, I thought "That needs some serious modding!", so I quit the game again and started creating type 21 exemplar files to make it pretty (see the SAM thread for a picture). ;)

Anyway, I already praised your work elsewhere (and I'm glad that I had some first-hand experience with it already), so I can only repeat myself that this is magnificent stuff, kudos! :)

Pat:  Probably more of an early spring cleaning than a relaunch... but it should straighten out a few things that I didn't fully realize last year.

Andreas:  Exactly right, yes!  I'm rather glad that I can't mod transit systems in particular or I would really never get any playing time.  There are several things I'd love to do, but since I don't know how I can happily move on.  ;)  And of course, thank you!

Those are interesting plans jon.
It seems that Pack 2 is right on steam. :)

BTW Killam Hospital does have a ring to it, a bit morbid but... ;)

I have GOT to make sure that when I place Killam Hospital...that it's across the street from a cemetary!!!!

I wouldn't exactly call your past efforts 'messes' but am looking forward to their relaunch. Also Clayhurst's appearance on the LEX. Take care................Anne

Strech:  Thanks!  I already have more than enough planned to finish Pack Two... it's actually going to be a matter of deciding which ideas make the cut and which ones will wait for Pack Three or later.

Duane:  Brilliant! :D

Anne:  Thank you!  OK, maybe not "messes"... but still not quite right.  Sometimes I'm just too picky for my own good... ;)

Pat:  I didn't find the query tutorial that I originally learned from, but I was able to find this.  It's very extensive and actually has some things in it that I think I learned along the way much later.  There is also a link there for the UI Editor.  Hopefully it will make a nice start for you, and let me know if I can help in any way.

Speaking of queries... with the help of Barby and Ripplejet, I ironed out the last couple kinks in a "major" query used on most of the eye candy lots.  This is the one that will also help keep track of your university's size. (Which will come in handy over time, trust me)

I've also managed to finish any queries that I plan on needing for future packs.  With those items finished, everything has now been sent off for the rewards and translation portion of the project.  I can't say how grateful I am to all the people involved in helping make this thing what it will become.  These finishing touches are what will take this from simply a massive set of lots to a working, expandable system.  That would never have happened without people like Andreas, Ripplejet, Barby, and many others.  So consider this my public thank you to them!

I may have to redo a few of my cities just to get these into my game. Well worth it though, its really turning out great. &apls

A quick side question, did you ever release the football field you showed on the first page here? $%#Ninj2
Current project: Movies 14

You may have meant to search for Houdini. (result of searching for XiahouDun on SC4D)

JBSimio

Pat:  Glad to help!  I am by no means the best, but I've made a fair share of custom queries and would be happy to do whatever I can.

TopCliff:  Sorry buddy... I have a hard time being funny after cooking for 13 hours.  I'll try to do better tonight since I'm only working for 9 hours this time... ;)

XiahouDun:  Thank you!  The football field is another one of those projects that I never really finished.  The textures made for it have been released, but the props are still sitting on my HD at the moment.  Maybe now that I've learned a few more modding tricks I can look into that one again.
