hi there

ive been playing alot with mirrored props as of late. with great success i should add. however in the mod im developing there is one unique puzzle piece that requires props that are both slope conforming and mirrored.
the problem is not that i cant mirror them its just that the props on the mirrored tiles conform to the slope height of the original position. on the non mirrored tiles, the props work fine.
EDIT picture replaced with more appropriate pic.

the puzzle piece is the diagonal end piece or "stub" as i call it. above is a picture with the mirrored stub tile . as you can see part of my elrail model is not conforming properly. ive played with this extensively. in the picture above the prop is conforming to a position 90' counter clockwise.
In short i need info on the lotconfig properties and how they work for placement of props. i know i saw this in the past and know that atleast 4 of the hex values for the prop determine its placement within the tile, and that positive and negative numbers are represent by specific ranges of said hex properties. can someone refresh me on how these values work and if theres any way to adjust the mirrored props pivot point?

any help would be appreciated.

Edit....heres another picture to show more of what im talking about. the tile on the right is the mirrored tile. green arc shows the position that the prop is deriving its height from. slope is good. my first thought was to adjust the height of the prop but of course that is a variable dependant on the slope. thats no good...anyways. :(

ok....i figured out a way to do this. but the the question of how the lotconfig properties work for prop placement remains of interest to me.

how i did it...i had to creat 2 seperate props with their own mirrors. both props are rendered with different 0,0,0 points. prop one is on the lower left side and its mirror appears as a pink box. prop 2 is the blue box who's mirror is on the lower right side. Instead of setting up both lot and mirror lot identical, the second lot is set with prop 2 at a new position which picks up the slope and height properly. Its kind of hard to explain but ill give more details if requested....hehe...but heres a pic to show it working. the boxes and details will be dealt with accordingly. its a pain in the but however this is the only tile i can think of that has a mirror and is slope conforming, thank bejevus.

it seems to hang down lower, but thats only another prop i didnt bother to remove or fix at the time of the photo. and its so dark cause i didnt adjust the lighting in that rotation yet. just a trial run....5 hrs later ::)

Hello Buddy, I am glad to see that you found a solution for the problem  . These pieces are looking excellent btw ;)

About the lotconfig properties.... what are you exactly looking for?. I dont know what you are pursuing, but when I need to place a prop in a T21 lot, I make a lot in LE, I place the lot, I save, and I copy the lotconfig line containing the prop from my lot to my T21 lot.... I hope this helps somehow  ::)

thanks for the reply jeronij.

actually what im interested in is how the value of the properties work.
for example heres five lotconfig values for a prop (0x14A8CFCC)
each lotconfig property coincides with a position on one of the corners or the center of a 1x1 tile.

theres six individual entries that change but i dont understand how that effects 5 positions.

the reason im interested in this is because one of the oldtimers at simtropolis once explained how some of these values are corrupt due to a bug. which seems to affect lighting while rotating the prop. i was thinking that that may affect its virtual position when mirrored. sadly ive forgotten and lost the info. i can see a pattern in the numbers but i dont quite get it. in short i want to know how these numbers relate to the position of the prop on the tile.
