Also a little more belated Happy Birthday from me here! And congrats on 102 comments and on the Bestsellers-section!

Looking forward to the update tomorrow...

Simpson, after studying the stats for this MD, I have noticed that 44% of the posts are yours. While there is no rule about how often you can post in your own MD, it is my opinion that you are exceeding yourself a little bit, and I dont think this is fair play. Your attention to this has been called already, in english and in your mother language, but you seem to ignore/not understand this. Well, you are free to keep you MD posts percentages the way you prefere, but we are also free to manage this section the way we think it is more enjoyable for the visitors, and we may have to take some decisions if the situation persists.

I am currently not active - Please, contact Tarkus for any site related matter. Thanks for enjoying SC4D :D

Folks, jeronij's recent comment comment here wasn't left to make our friend Simpson sting, or anything else along that line.  It conveys two messages (and I'll add a third point)-

1.  We run a pretty tight ship here at SC4D generally and in the MD section in particular.  Dustin, who took over for me here a little less than a year ago and who has done an incredible job of creating a top-notch environment for MD authoring and their enjoyment, spends a great deal of time on an ongoing basis watching what is going on in each author's work, and his standards reflect SC4D's overall- they're pretty darn high.  There are actually fewer MDs here than there were a year ago, and the feedback to us that the approach we're taking is working is that the standard of quality, by all measures, is consistently up there.  So- bottom line- we don't make suggestions or recommendations to particular authors either often or lightly.  As you can see, we felt it necessary in Simpson's case.

2.  We are a fairly businesslike crowd here on the staff.  We try very hard not to raise a big public ruckus over anything- about 90% of our dealings with members over issues is by PM.  We don't threaten or hector in those PMs- we try to state what we're concerned about and offer the member the opportunity to address the situation voluntarily.  That said, if you get a PM from one of us, as Simpson did here, don't let us come to the conclusion that you are ignoring us.  That invariably leads to the situation becoming far more serious than it was in the first place.

3.  We get over stuff.  If a member has an issue and addresses it, we all move on together and things are forgotten quickly.  If the member continues to have the same issue, or his or her conduct continues to constantly present issues, we reach a point fairly soon where we will move on without the member.  We will generally suspend someone once, then will terminate membership- and that is usually the final decision.  We just don't want to spend time we could be using to make this site all that it could be dealing with things that can be resolved in short order.  That's not intended to be directed at Simpson- it's just a word to the wise.

While I am the "retired" MD section supremo, I do have a kind of-sort of MD, Three Rivers Region, so I'll offer my two cents worth and not feel too meddlesome about it.  Over the last year and a half I've made a lot of comments in it- about 350, to be more precise.  It looks to me like Simpson favors the same sort of interactive and "chatty" style that, for better or for worse, I've fallen into as an author.  If you take my posts in 3RR as a percentage of all the comments there, though, you come out with a ratio of about one in every ten, or an average of two per SC4D "page."  Now, I'll admit that on some pages there's three or four posts by me.  Lots of pages, though, have just one.  If we would use even twenty percent (two author comments in ten) as sort of an upward limit I would say Simpson is a good little ways beyond that.  That should change.

This is an interesting and enjoyable MD, and I hope that it stays around for a long time, as I feel confident in saying that as an author gains the experience and wisdom that only time can provide, his or her work only gets better.  Simpson, best of luck to you- you're getting some good advice in all the comments to date- be assured that the SC4D staff wants to see Maquazina be everything you can make it.

That's a wonderful big update there, Simpson! Great beach there, too! Also a wonderful part of your region!

Looking forward to more...

Maquazina is starting to shape up as a very attractive region, Simpson. I like the way you've developed the areas around the lake. I recognize a few of the BATS - not many - but they fit together pretty well.

And nice work on the TPW!
 The bridge looks good, and so do the trees. All in all, an impressive update. ;)

Until next time...
