Region City Corruption possible?

I don't know what's happened but I have one region and everytime that I open one particular city (It's actually not been put into mayor mode yet) and try to do a flattening terraforming, Simcity 4 just drops to the desktop without any error message and vanishes.  At first I thought it might be one of the plugins that I've downloaded today as I went hog wild downloading small single family homes today but I removed all the plugins and it still does crashes when trying to use the flattening terraforming tool.

I opened up a different region and opened up an unincorporated city zone in that new region and it allows terraforming just fine, and there is no problem.  So I went back to the original region and tried that block again and it crashed.  I started up the game again and chose a different city in that region and it allows the terraforming just fine.

Anybody ever have this happen, and is there a fix to apply to this?  It's one of my own regions so I dont have any backups of it that I can insert in it's place, I'd end up having to just delete the whole region I guess as I dont' want it to spread to areas of this region that I've been actually building cities on.

Interesting problem. I've actually had a somewhat similar problem. There was a particular city tile that when I tried to bulldoze the trees from it, the game crashed to desktop.  This was a long time ago, though, and I just trashed the region, which I know is not the solution you want. Corruption seems like the likely explanation, though. Sorry I couldn't help any, and I hope that someone can resolve the problem.

on the subject i have a region where one city tile CTD's just by opening it i just cant use that tile.... plugins or not...

open the savegame in the reader and remove all examplars, it may helps
