Okay, I'm done procrastinating... Time for the ambulance textures!

Almost all ambulance skins are available in your choice of red or red/blue lights. Only the ones with red/blue lights are shown. If one is available with a different color lights, it is specifically mentioned.

Solid color
These ambulances are a single color with a white stripe.

Red


Orange I may have to brighten up the color a little bit...


Yellow Intended to match my yellow fire trucks on the STEX in Mega-Pack 3.


Two-Tone
These ambulances are white with the lower portion being red, orange or yellow. They can also be used to match existing fire truck mods.

Well, my dad happened to see the Abu Dahbi police cars. And when he was in the navy (on the USS Kearsarge in Norfolk) he went there on a navy cruise. He told me to tell you that the main police car in the city is a 2000 Ford Explorer. Oh yeah. THANK YOU FOR THE VBPD POLICE CARS! Also, I'm trying to find and upload a picture of my conuty's police cars; Campbell County, TN. ok

I found another thread at SSC devoted to police cars, too, but there are almost no ambulances or other emergency vehicles in it, except police cars. Also, many of the images don't show up properly in that thread, but there are enough for me to be able to add Croatian, Danish, HK, Czech, San Juan, Manila (Philipines), Slovak, and Slovenian police.

Thank you for the link - it will enable me to add several countries' fire vehicles and ambulances.

I have been forced to stop making new skins for the time being, but hopefully this willl be a short-lived problem... I have been cursed by the loathed "DLL Hell," which in fact has killed nearly every program that is not essential for school: including SimCity, all my web browsers except IE, PhotoFiltre, WinAmp, Pidgin and Y!M, but NOT Ilive's rograms Reader, LEProp and Prop Viewer. I have found a registry file that could help me with this, but for some reason my computer mistakes a *.REG file for a *.MP3 file, and we all know what MP3 is, don't we?

Anyway, all is not lost! I have been improving the textures on ALL of my black and white police cars - including ones that are already released! I don't know what happened to my black and white OPP texture, I'm [somewhat] absolutely sure I improved that one... Never mind, I found it  Anyway... Since i am too lazy to manually post images of interest, I'll just link you to my PhotoBucket. You can find many skins already posted there, but some you will notice have been updated. The updated black and white police cars that were already released in a form that was less awesome than they will soon be are on page 1, as are a few "Fancy" police and sheriff cars. (Two "Fancy" ones are not in that folder, so I've added them below) You'll notice that there I have added the wide gold stripe police and sheriff cars. On page 2, you will find that the Wide Stripe police and sheriff cars have been continued, with a couple new additionsm and for the most part, you've seen the rest on that page. On page 3, there are mostly cars you've already seen, but a few you haven't: Cincinnati, OH; Lincoln, NE (Have you seen that one already? I can't remember...) Niagara Regional, ON police, and a few police cars with a gold stripe on the side. On page 4, you have almost entirely new additions, which I am calling the "multi-color stripe police/sheriff cars," which will be expanded somewhat. Notice the two sets of black ones with subtle stripes: I call those the "No-See-Ums" because many police departments are using police cars that don't look like police cars at a glance but if you look closely you can tell they're marked, but barely. You've seen everything on page 5 already, and on page 6 there are a few new state police car skins, as well as a 70s-era Swedish police car paint job, but on a modern car model. (That's the black and white POLIS car) You'll also notice a few new black and white police car skins, as well as some that have been shown already but not released, and improved somewhat. Page 7 and 8... Well... I'll let you explore them for yourself, but I will tell you that there are several white police cars with designs based on some of the black and white ones on previous pages. The skins formerly referred to as the "undefined" police and sheriff car are now "white police/sheriff car type 5".

There are a few improvements planned for existing skins as well as several new ones (particularly now that I've gotten these links to the threads at skyscrapercity - thanks skyliner!)

I hate to double post but it's been a cople days since my last post and I have an
ANNOUNCEMENT to make:

I am considering including an installer program with future releases. I haven't been able to install the installer creator due to this DLL Hell but I think I'm beginning to chip away at the crust of "security" within the depths of my WORTHLESS! operating system... (Windows Vista) But since I haven't been able to look at how the installers from Clickteam are made, I'm not sure that I'll be able to include options and sub-options, which are in previous releases folders and the files within. I may also include readme files as HTMLs instead of TXTs, thanks to a few templates available for the LEX candidavy advice thread.

I will NOT seek LEX candidacy for my mods until SW77 releases his police car models: at that time I may re-skin his vehicles wih the intention of releasing them in the same places he released his own versions - that is, the LEX and not the STEX. My stripey version of his Euro ambulance will also be on the LEX only, as well as my version of his Euro ladder truck.

Vista doesn't have BSODs - it just restarts.

But I haven't been getting any BSODs, or sudden restarts, so I may have to reinstall Windows... I know of a place already on my computer where I can copy my sensitive files (including police van mods but NOT including the upcoming vehicle skins I've shown you) to protect them during the reinstallation. I will put my files in a safe place tonight and reinstall Windows tomorrow.

Okay, again i hate to double post, but this doesn't seem like something i should just add to my previous post...

I reinstalled Windows, with most of my data protected in a separate hard drive, but I lost my fonts (from here) and i lost my flash drive with all my new skins on it, so I'm lucky I posted the pictures on Photobucket... So I'm back to fixing up new skins and waiting for a laptop.

I did back them up! I made a point to back up nearly everything before I reinstalled Windows because I knew I'd probably have to re-format the hard drive... I have retained my SC4 files, music [much helped by a set of new speakers, complete with floor-thumpin' woofer], pictures, documents, and a few other things. It will be a little time-consuming and boring for me to download my skins from Photobucket, but once I have them back it's going to be easy as pie to add more, 'specially with a new source of images.

I have re-downloaded a desktopful of fonts, which will be easy but time-consuming to install.

I haven't yet put the SC4 folder back in my Program Files (x86) yet, but when I do I'll still have crummy performance with about 2.3GB of plugins on 1GB RAM...

Sadly, FiSHman still won't work, since I'm still on Vista...

This one will likely have red or red/blue lights when released.

Red police car cause although they exist in RL, they are rare, so there's only one red police car skin for SimCity.


I've also been working on police van skins to match the police cars already released. I haven't gotten to the French ambulance yet but it's a high priority.

EDIT: Did I say I had plans to make a pack of police vans to match the PEG Cop Car Mod by Pegasus? Cause I just uploaded it to the STEX - LINK!

I have 2 requests. Number one is can you make an ambulance that has a green stripe on it? It looks like the first picture, but make the majority of it would be white Kind of like the ambulances you posted above. The other is a firetruck that looks like the one shown below.

EDIT AGAIN: Rummaging through my old files, I discovered that I have, in fact, COMPLETED 4 of the 5 mods I intended to release for my pack of Spanish civic vehicles. Both police cars, one being the older white paint job of the National Police, the other being the newer blue one, as well as an ambulance and a fire truck are complete. I never finished the blue police van skin, and although I never started on a white police van skin it should be very easy to do.
