You have spaces in your Max install name.  This is known to cause problems. Not sure if it's causing yours though.

Also...

While it won't cause you're present problem, it will cause problems once you correct this one ;).  Make sure to put backslashes at the end of temp, output files, and plugins file paths in the .ini file.

It would be really nice if someone could do a little tutorial on how to install the BAT and everything else needed.

You are a god, i think it was the backslashes i was missing as it seems its decided to render i love you forever and ever....

i rectified this in the ini files as well as the folder name so all should be well....

I'm not sure about Gmax and Bat Robin, but in the BAT Tutorials section there is a good tutorial already from SimFox on setting up Max4Bat.  It's not stickied though, so you have to look down at the normal posts.  Between it and the instructions that come with Max4Bat, the only thing I had to look up really was some more info on the delltree issue(which, in short, you just don't really need to use.)

The only real hard part about installing BAT4Max (especially for people with v9 or later) is the location of the 3dsmax.ini file and remembering to copy the contents of the old PlugCFG folder to the BAT folder.  The rest is straightforward, although there are some general rules of thumb using it (no spaces in filenames, re-exporting LODs from GMAX to get a fresh ID etc etc)
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it
