CAM stage problem

Does a fix exist for the stage problem? What I mean is, with CAM installed, entire blocks of my city are getting filled with coit towers and such. :(

If not, is there a way to fix it? I imagine it would involve changing the stages of several landmarks?

Maybe you need more CAM commercial buildings. Of course, I don't even get that far so I not really sure what else to do. At least their not costing you landmark costs(I hope)

They're not. Querying the landmarks reveals they're just like any other commercial busi... wait... I think I have the mod installed that makes the landmarks have jobs... and it's possible it's conflicting with CAM. I'll have to check in the morning.

Coit Tower is stage 6. ;D Unless you prefer making large rural regions.  :-\

If you are making LARGE AREAS of development (ie commercial) you will find there will always be SOME LOT that will seem to grow a lot of.. coit towers is one of these.. This is the natural function of there being only X available lots that meet the stage criteria in demand at the moment (remember that even if you have say 200 custom lots, that only a few of them fit the immediate stage X demand at a given time) These issues fade away as the city develops.. if you reach the "finished" city about where you want to leave it, THEN you may consider doing some "adjustments" .. but trust me these are only passing issues..

Well, is there a way to change the stages of several landmarks? Say, bump them up to stage 50?

The word "stage" doesn't mean anything to me for a landmark.. maybe it is technically defined in terms of some density or whatever, but stage only applies to me as a growable.. why do you care about landmark "stage"?

platyfish124 mentioned Coit Tower is stage 6. I also heard a while back that landmarks have stages too.

I don't exactly remember how the mechanics work and whatnot (it's been a while) but by somehow changing the stage of the landmarks to something out of range of CAM so that they wouldn't grow. CAM extends the number of growth stages for growable lots to 15 for commercial, so if I changed the stage of something like the coit tower to 16 it would never grow. Right? Or am I wrong.

The Coit Tower does seem to grow more than any other CAMified Maxis building.
The reason for this is its visual appearance. You do notice it a lot easier than any of the other in-game stage 6 CS§§§ buildings.

Are there any other blockers being made? I would like to see a mod that blocks all maxis landmarks from growing.

Other Maxis landmarks don't grow. Just Coit Tower is provided with the CAM.

Especially appendices 5 and 6.

whoops  &ops. It's just that I've only been able to grow Coit Tower and Smith Tower, and Coit Tower is the only one common enough for me to remember.

So far I've seen lots of coit towers, several smith towers, a bit more seafirst towers and once I had two CN towers that grew right next to each other.  &sly
