The SC4 Devotion Forums are no longer active, but remain online in an archived, read-only "museum" state.  It is not possible for regular members to post or use the private messaging system, and no technical support will be provided for any issues pertaining to the forums in their current state.  Attachments (those that still work) are accessible without login.

The LEX has been replaced with SC4Evermore (SC4E), and SC4E maintains an active Discord server.  For traditional forums, we recommend Simtropolis.

Unexpected "shift" to desktop when SC4 starts

Hi.

From a couple of weeks, I'm experimenting a very strange problem: when i start SC4, the game starts as usual but together with it even My Documents folder is being open at the same time. As result, I see SC4 in the background, My Documents folder as main window open and the whole desktop freezes: all icons and START menu disappear and dont' come back even when I quit from the game, that I can still play as usual. Then, I have to reboot to do other things with PC, but it is quite irritating.

Don't know what's happened, but it was my internet connection & Direct X that are messing up the game... I'm 99% sure that after formating it would be fine.
