soulchaser: I'm afraid I don't quite see what you're referring to concerning "flying cars". Thanks for your compliments on the mosaic, though!

I just meant, that if there's an accident and a car gets off the street to the left, next to the theatre, it will fall right into the audience.

Nice pics, though;)

Jordan (canyonjumper): Thank you, Jordan! I thought the SAM streets would fit better with the paths, and I'm glad I went with them.

djvandrake: Thanks! I'm happy you like the new remodel so much.

Battlecat: Thank you! I wanted the details to enhance the area as a whole, so I'm glad you like them.

Kumba: Thanks, my friend! I wanted the university to be as realistic as possible, so it's great to see that you like my work! As for the Greek houses, they're most of the mansions and larger houses you can see in the third picture. Take care!

daryl7478: Thank you, my fellow Californian! Yes, it's unfortunate that there are some abandoned buildings visible in some of those pictures. I used to have a no-abandonment mod, but it was interfering with my NAM traffic simulator and causing a lot of no-job zots to appear, so I removed it. As for the BSC park set, it sounds like you're missing a dependency, the BSC Parks Texture Set. It lets you select one of seven different textures for use on all your BSC parks.

Daniel (danielcote): Thanks!

976: Thank you, my friend!

bat: I'm glad you like it! Thanks for replying!

Chris (GreekMan): Thank you! It's always great to read your compliments.

Tomas Neto: I'm happy you like the mosaics so much! Thanks for stopping by!

soulchaser: I see what you mean now. Perhaps the city should install a wall or row of vehicle barriers near that theatre... Thank you for your kind words!

My special for this week isn't about anything that I've made, but rather, a change that was made possible by someone else. Our own bridgemaster Ryan (choco) took his WIP Rio Antirio Bridge for the MHW and adapted it for use with avenues, at my request. As a result, the Broadway Bridge leading into downtown Nyhaven now has a new look:

I am very thankful to choco for taking the time to make this mod for me. It looks great! Thanks so much, Ryan!

Feel brand new. Be inspired.

The mosaic and the bridge look great, I especially like how Downtown appears as it transitions into the water :)

Great work Zack! As of the BSC paths, in the lot with the gazebo, the gazebo doesn't appear. even though I downloaded all the dependencies, some of the university paths still appear as one texture. Also, where do you get your rail catenary mod? I would like a link to it. I also added you to my buddy list along with thundercrack83.

NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

KoV Liberty

Hmmm, I swear I had commented, anyways, it looks awesome! Both the last two updates!

My new MD. Check it out if you wish.

Adrian, I miss you man.

Very nice facelift of the bridge, Zack. That really is a lovely bridge.

Nice Bridge Facelift , does it come with night lights?

djvandrake: I'm glad you think so! Thank you very much!

nedalezz: Welcome to Nyhaven, and thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you like the way things are in this mosaic.

Jordan (canyonjumper): Thank you, Jordan!

Battlecat: Ryan (choco) really deserves the praise for how the bridge looks, so I'll just thank you on his behalf!

976: Thanks, my friend!

Daryl (daryl7478): Thank you, Daryl! I wish I could be more helpful with your troubleshooting, but it seems that your problems are beyond my ability to solve :( I recommend taking up your issues in the help section of the forums. As for the catenary mod, the catenary props themselves are by ehbk2006 and were uploaded to the STEX, and this download is a dependency for the mod itself. Enjoy!

mightygoose: Thank you very much!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Don't worry if you miss an update, my friend; you're welcome here whenever you have an opportunity to visit! Thanks for your kind words!

Ethan (ecoba): I'm glad you like it, Ethan! Ryan (choco) really did a great job making the new bridge piers, and I'm very grateful to him for modding the Maxis cable-stayed bridge to use them. Thanks for stopping by!

Corey (Nexis4Jersey): Thank you! I haven't looked at the bridge at night, actually, but I'm sure it looks great!

My, how time flies, eh? It's been a while since I posted my last special, I'm sorry to say. I haven't been playing SC4 as much as usual, since it's what I decided to give up for Lent (still doing some lotting/modding, though). I still have a few specials ready for posting, though, and I can play the game on Sundays, so there's no need to fear that Nyhaven will go inactive anytime soon. Things will pick up again after Easter, so just bear with me for a few weeks and you'll be enjoying weekly updates again in no time!

Anyway, how about a trip to the inner suburbs?

We haven't been through these parts of town in quite some time, so let's get oriented. We're starting out at Thrillsbury Park, Nyhaven's very own amusement park, and follwing the tracks of the Parks Line southwards, along the arc of the city's park belt. After passing a couple of small parks, we come to the Rossmore Golf Course, one of the larger greenswards in Nyhaven. Crossing under Route 48 and a railroad mainline, we reach the Ridgeland Business District, and then comes Ridgeland Park, the centerpiece and oldest park in the city's park belt. Looking at it, I think I might try my hand at texture creation and redesign this park to more closely resemble the kind of formal gardens you can find next to the palaces of Europe, with paths going every which way and converging on landmark fountains and sculptures. Anyway, only a couple blocks outside the park belt is our final destination, the Ridgeland Mall. I hope you enjoyed this little trip!

Feel brand new. Be inspired.

Very nice suburbs! It all looks great, however I notice some repetition in the (commercial) buildings and I also think you need a slope mod ;)

I am pretty sure I remember when these suburbs were being built, back in 2008 when I was still a big time lurker. Anyway, they are just as beautiful as ever.

Hope to see some more soon!

Ethan

Battlecat

Great to see this area! That's a great looking amusement park and a huge block of greenspace.  Nyhaven is certainly vying for that "most livable city" title because those are really nice looking suburbs!

djvandrake

Looks great!  I really like your parks and gold course.  Very nice.

canyonjumper

Looking very nice! I really like the park with the winding paths!
