I wonder what happened to the comrade... :P

I guess he was sold to the Memento Park in Budapest.

The reason why i like so much this region is because I always wanted to do a city inspired in Krakow / Warsaw, for some reason I have always felt attracted by Poland and these cities, and your region Kolbrow is a really good MD to see some representative parts of these cities...

I got to try to make a region in this way  $%Grinno$%

Ok, half a year... I hope, that you don't mind :D

I planned to make some updates during the summer, but you know... I wanted good, but it turned out to be as always :p
You know, there were some new events and experience, that I met during this time. For example, I spent whole summer in France on a student practice. It was my first time to be abroad so long (2 months) - and it was very strange at the beginning to get used to live in among French language :P Really hard, but at the end, it turned out, that it was so addicting, so I found it really weird to come back to Poland and understand everything, what you hear in the street ;)
Nevertheless, I get used to be home back... And of course  I didn't play SimCity... You know - University, RL and something like this :D

Thank you for your comments! I feel guilty, that I didn't aswer them few months ago :(
Btw - the real Vladimir from Kraków was not taken to Budapest (btw, I didn't know, that such park exists!). As far as I know, he was taken to Sweden, probably sold as a scrap (really, Poles really wanted to get rid of him, then!)

Ok, but for the Christmas I MUST have prepared something. So, even though there is no snow behind my (and I think not only mine) window, let's go to see beautiful landscapes with trees and fields covered with a white layer!

The morning somewhere in mountains? Valley of Szlachtowski stream in Pianice Mountains.

The stream near its springs.

It snows!

Nowa Huta covered with snow, but trams still goes trough the courtain of white flakes ;)

And the Main Market Square in Kolbrów... It's almost a tradition to show it for Christmas :P

Także tego...
Merry Christmas!
... and Happy New Year!
Wesołych Świąt :)
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

Vortext - you think, it's a nonsense? Well, ok, I promise, not to leave it this year :D
Kergelen - I don't remember. I think it's Brigantine (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/11836-peg-water-mod-brigantine), but I'm not sure now, I have the files of this mod messed somewhere in my plugins folder :/
Fasan - Thanks! I'm glad, that you like it :)

Well guys - as you see, it has been around 2 months since my last update, but you know what? During this time I finished my first cycle of university education and I got a title - Engineer (Bachelor) in Civil Engineering  $%Grinno$% Ok, I don't feel like it changes something too much, I will wait with calling myself "engineer" when I get few years of experience ;) Anyway, it's a significant step for me in my education :)

Ok, today we're going to see a bit unconventional update - about the urban transportation system in Kolbrów. Firstly, let's see the most recent region view:

Tramways are the base of public transport In Kolbrów. Ground tram lines (with in-street and separated tracks) connect most parts of the city, and give the comfortable possibility to travel in and out from the city centre. On the most of grade-crossings the trams have a priority. In the last couple of years Kolbrów has built and now operates a pre-metro system, which goes under the city centre. There are two lines:

Line 1 (purple) goes from Krowodrza (west) to Kurdwanów (east). At the ends of this line there are ramps, where trams change their traditional ground tracks into tunnel. On this line there are 32-metres long vehicles operated and the frequency is between 5 and 10 minutes. There are plans to build extension to Łobzów.

Line 2 (yellow) goes from Prokocz (North) to the City Centre, where trams change their direction at terminal underground station. Originally there were plans to locate there a ramp and connect undeground part with ground network, but it has been decided to build the extension to Nowa Huta (south). Ground part od the line at Prokocz has been rebuilt - tram stops has been extended, covered, and enlarged to allow to operate even 52-metres long trams, number of crossings with local streets was reduced and maximum priority for trams has been introduced on intersections. Especially for this route, the city has bought 45-metres long two-way trams. Frequency on this line is about 5 minutes. During rush hours there is a significant problem, as this line is working within the limit of its capacity. There is no possibility to increase the frequency, as the capacity of underground terminus is limited (there is no loop right there). In this case the city plan to buy new 52-metres long two-way trams. When the next stations will be created, there will be temporary loops or extra tracks in order to allow introducing increased frequency of 3-minutes.

The railway network is going to be operated as well. For the moment, there are regional trains and one local commuter line in use (Szybka Kolej Aglomeracyjna - Fast Agglomeration Railway), that goes from Wielinia, trough the central railway, to the airport.  However, more local lines are planned, even using a cargo ring route. What is more, the city plans to open new Park&Ride parking lots around the town, located just by the main junctions, pre-metro lines and rail stations.
