Thanks, I knew that it was not released in a main SC4 website

I love these moutain scenes, especially autumn season and colors ;)

Wow, some incredible work here ;)

Duża różnica pomiędzy poprzednim a nowym update'em. Krajobrazy jedne z najlepszych w SC4 :)*

*Big difference between this and last update. Those landscapes are one of the best I've seen in SC4.

kelis

Great job ! I like those pictures. The stream is very well done  &apls &apls

I echo the previous comments, really great work. I to love the stream and the I really like how the small town has been put together and the general feel and look of it.

Hello there!

Arthur – Thanks! You will have a chance to see more of it ;)
Dantes – Oh, you mean you've been there in Poland? Thank you, you will see more of ithe railway today and in the next update soon  :)
Girafe, romualdillo, noahclem, Themistokles, kelis - Merci, gracias, tack and Bedankt ;) Thanks for a comment!
Seraf - Dzięki ;) With "previous" you mean the road construction? Well, that was very quickly-done, so there was no place for detailing then :D
belfastsocrates -Thank you! Well, the small villages are my favourite part of SC so I think you will be able to see more of them in the future ;)

I still work in this small part of region, which consist mostly of mountainous areas. Even though my "scale" makes all of this here very small, narrow and underscaled.

I try to build a railway going from Szlachtowa (last update) to Kolbrów, but the terrain is quite heavy. Narrow space (due to underscaled valley size), steep slopes and the fact, that this area lays on four neighboring tiles! I decided, that I need an overview, a map, so I thought about connecting transport maps from all of this tiles to use it as a base and then draw the line and other development on it. To do that, I used AutoCAD (like a true engineer ;) ) It's a great to plan on 2D, but I still have to keep in mind the height - to find a best route for a railway. Now I don't care about the radius and curves on it as much as the slopes. For railways I use BRF slope mod, which allows the slightest slope in SimCity.

So, here is the map showing the planned line (red) and the stream. I also plan to make a water reservoir with a dam in that place. All is really squeezed up and it lays on several tiles (their borders are marked with pink lines).

The extremal parameters of the line are:
- slope – maximum grade: 3,5%:
- curves' radius: 120m

Curve's radius of course is far too small. In polish standards for railways the minimum minimum (for local lines in mountainous area) is 200m. With the slope the matter is similar – BRF mod gives that 3,5%, while the maximum maximum in the reality is 2%

What is more, I've already started with the water dam (which itself is located on the border of two tiles!). I have made a water dam in simcity already (avaible here), but I'm not so happy with the spillway (the open part where the water flows through). I think about making a bat, which would work similar to many already made river embankments, but will consist of puzzles of ground part and a concrete spillway section.

The dam is 30.5 meters high, and the regular level of water is going to be 24,5 meters. Its draft cross-section is avaible after clicking on the photo below:

For today just one shot of the valley below Szlachtowa, but there will be more  soon :)

Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

Nice mountain scenes on the previous update &apls

I like dams. Looking forward to see more pictures of it ;)

Vizoria

What a picture! A lovely creek and great farmland!

Some very nice screenshots, especially with the small villages. Also, nice layout of the dam, and after looking at your previous dam, I do think that you actually made the best with the limited possibilities the game sometimes gives you. I also think that it is a good idea to draw plans on the transportation map, like you've shown.

Gugu3

Amazing pics! That dam is going to be amazing ::)

Kergulen, Vizoria, Gugu3 – Thanks! :)
11241036 – Well, I've got a lot of other plans, I'll show in the future ;) Thanks, I'm glad to hear that!

Ok, first of all, let me show my few plugins, I've uploaded this weekend. They are: urban bus sheds, pedestrian crossings and an unfinished skyscraper called Szkieletor (the model itself is made by Kacper).

Avaible after clicking here:
Crosswalks
Bus stops
Szkieletor

As I mentioned last time, I try to model the spillway section in 3dsmax. However, I've got few problems of 3dsmax nature, I'll try to manage them later. I think about making some set of puzzle pieces, that would allow to build a whole dam with a spillway section in any place. Anyway, that will take some time, that I've currently ran out playing simcity this weekend.

Ok, but let's go back to the game. I've found a quite nice tunnel entrance for my single track rail – Working Man's Production tunnel mod. It looks like that:

Let's get back a little and take the last glance at the town of Szlachtowa. We probably won't be back soon there.

Now moving down the valley, along the stream railway and roads. The water is going up the photo.

There's another bridge over the river right here.

If you want to now, where I take inspiration from ;) Click to enlarge.

River of Dunajec in village of Tylmanowa, southern Poland

And finally – a panorama. Mosaic showing the entire valley (yep, it's not too big, as I mentioned last time, that my region is pretty underscaled). On the top of the screenshot you can see unfinished stream – it's because of that, in that place there will be the place where the rivers flows into a reservoir.

Enjoy! I don't say "stay tuned" now, because it seems, I will need to get back to RL stuff, so no more simcity at least until Christmas ;)

Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

Gugu3

Cool update as usual! Will wait until Christmas to see some more ;)

Spillway looks very promising, and it'd be great if it were modular!  &apls

The mosaic is great, too, the winding river is very well done!

Vizoria

Now that's a valley! Your woodland distribution and path-laying skills are really good. I do have a question about the stream though, are those small white rocks MMPs? If so where can I find them please?

seraf

No, I meant your earlier work in general. I remember your old cities and what you are making now is a big improvement, even looking at recent updates I can see constant improvement

The spillway looks good, it could use some more details but I believe it's early stage of work?  ;D

feyss

This river looks really great

Can't wait to see your dam too  ;)

art128

The unfinished skyscraper is nice and could be used in many different ways... nice...

Making a modular dam is a nice idea but I think the hardest is to think of a way to be able to use the dam on different height levels.

The tunnel entrance is definitely better now. It fits nicely in the landscape, nice job! The overview of the valley is incredible. It reminds me of EJC's work years ago, really splendid job.

While it's true the mountains aren't very high in elevation, I think giant mountains in SC4 are ugly. They need too much space to look nice and in the end they occupy their own tiles so you can't really add them to any pictures of town.
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

Themistokles

Very well modeled valley! You have great skill in making the nature and how it blend's with the houses. And you found a well-fitting tunnel portal :)
