Dustin, fantastic lotting job as well as usual my friend, you've done a nice work with frogface's BAT, the textures used make the BAT looking very well. I think there's nothing to add to this outstanding result, everything is here !
bom trabalho (= good work ) and Take care,

Hi Dustin!
You're welcome for the bottle, we've got so much here, in France :D And wine too ;). For the otting, I like the place you've done, beacause there's life on it, it's not empty like cities I can see on other sites or forums. And it'll be a big city you want to do, beacause there's much people, it's good, but too much is not good. I think you should reduce the number of Props with people. I've the same problem with this on my city, beacause it's tough to do, a citry where there's people, but nor too much. For the transition, I've also the same problem :D. Because I'm doing the CBD, but I've dutch BATs on Oldenburg, and go from dutch BATs to buildings built in the 60's, 70's, it's tough too. As you ploped Parsian buildings, why don't you inspire of "La Défense", the Paris' CBD? It's just an advice of course ;)

Very nice MD, I've read it all. You motivated me in starting my own MD!

Good job :)

Omnia, my first MD. Check it out!

Battlecat

That's shaping up to be an interesting lot.  I really like how you bring your city to life by putting crowds of people everywhere!

peter007: Thanks! What is it? Well, we'll see!

Luke (Luke09) Hi, Luke! It may be an underground mall. Only time will tell!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thanks, Alex!

Darra (darraghf): Thank you, my friend!

Splime: Hello! Thank you so much for sorting out the countdown conundrum, my friend! And thank you for your very kind words, too! As for the texture match-up, I'd love to say I did that on purpose, but...it was just serendipity, I guess! Take care!

rdrdrdrd: Thank you so much for such a nice request, but I don't think that my work would pass the stringent scrutineering standards that make the LEX as fantastic as it is today. One day, though, maybe I will!

Robin (rooker1): Hi, Robin! Ha! I don't think my new employer—not to mention my girlfriend and my parents—would go along with that one, but I love the way you think, my friend! Hope all is well with you and the family!

Ryan (carkid1998): Hey, Ryan! A cruise port, eh? I like that idea!

Arthur (art128): Thank you so much, Arthur!

Guillaume (Sciurus): Hello, Guillaume! I think you may be right about the amount of people—I try to make it look full of life, but I think sometimes I may go overboard! Thank you so much for your suggestions and your input, my friend, and I hope to see you back soon! Oh, and I will definitely be looking at the mix of older and newer buildings in
La Défense, too! Take care, Guillaume!

Leodido: Hi, there! What a wonderful thing to say! I do hope we'll see you again here in Marathon!

Battlecat: Thank you, my friend, for your very kind words and you continued support!

NaliLeader: Thank you so much! And welcome to Marathon!

Well, it is a bit after 3:00 AM here in Pennsylvania (7:00 AM UTC, if I did my math right...), and I will be leaving for Washington, D.C. around 7:30 AM for the weekend, spending my last weekend before my first day of work checking out the nation's capital. I've been there before, but not since I was about 10, and let's face it—no 10-year-old really cares about monuments and things like that! Of course, we'll also be taking in a Washington Nationals baseball game on Saturday night, too (I don't go anywhere without trying to catch a ballgame!), so it should be a fun trip. And of course, I'll be taking plenty of pictures, not only for your enjoyment, but also for inspiration! I'll have my computer with me, so I won't be completely out of the loop, so don't fret!

In the meantime, though, here is an artist's rendering of Abitibi Square. Enjoy!

And our countdown...

Enjoy your weekend, friends!

Lots more from Marathon to come!

art128

Dustin, interesting effect you done there my friend, looks like a rainy day with a blue filter, I thought the photograph didn't have the form, because he forgot to put off the blue filter of his camera !  :D
I hope you'll enjoy your trip Dustin, and it sure, if I will be in the USA and go on trip some week, I'll go to see a baseball match ! (yeah, I like baseball ! )
take care,
-Arthur.

Well Dustin,
You must know me by now....always thinking outside the box, whether wrong or right. ::) ;)
As for the picture...love the setup first of all, second the effect is unique.....very well done.
It looks like you are fast approaching the 2000 reply mark, fantastic!  Who would have thought that you would climb so quickly to the top.  Well let me tell you that with posts like your past ones, it is of no surprise!  I don't think you are the type of person to do things half ass'd anyways, so I think it is expected. :P

Seeya,
Robin

-oh, BTW, you should MSN me some time soon.  I am to something that should really surprise you.  It surprises even me!
Call me Robin, please.

Hi Dustin!

I'm happy that you'll try to follow my advices with La Défense, it's an honnour for me you know, that a main personn like you follows my advice ()stsfd().
The pic is special, but nice, with this blue effect, which looks like a rainy day, as Art said ;). But he's right about the filter on the camera, he forgot to put it off :D
Well, I wish you good luck for the following Dustin ;)

I enjoyed the artist's rendering. It's nice to see those kinds of artistic pics mixed into an MD. Your lotting of that sunken square is a great piece of work as well. Nice job as usual Dustin.

Have a blast in D.C.. I've been there a couple of times and it's a unique city. You just might get some city building ideas.

Take care.

Arthur (art128): Hi, Arthur! Thanks so much, my friend! I'm glad to hear that you're a fellow baseball fan, too! Do you have a favorite team? Take care, my friend!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thanks, Alex!

kimcar: Thank you, my friend!

bat: Thanks, bat!

peter007: Thanks!

Robin (rooker1): Hello, Robin! Thank you so much for your very kind words, my friend. And you are certainly right, if anyone thinks out of the box, it's you! Hope you had a great weekend!

rdrdrdrd: Thank you! And you're coming to Pennsylvania to go to school, eh? Where are you headed?

Guillaume (Sciurus): Hi, Guillaume! You and Arthur have the right idea about the picture and the photographer's filter! Ha-ha! Thanks for stopping by, my friend, and I hope to see you again soon!

Geoff (calibanX): Thank you, Geoff! You would have to be blind not to be inspired by Washington, DC, I think. The layout and structure of everything is very unique, like you said. Here's to Pierre L'Enfant! Hope to see you soon, my friend!

io_bg: Thank you!

Emil (emilin): Hello, my friend! Thank you so much, and of course, I don't have to tell you how much I love that quote! Take care, Emil!

Well, my weekend is over, and it was a very hot and muggy, yet quite enjoyable weekend in Washington, DC! I haven't been there for a long time, so it was great to go back and see things that I actually cared to see this time around! If you don't mind, I have a few photographs to share with you from the trip!

First, we have...

...Union Station, which was much bigger than I was anticipating, actually. We spent most of the first day walking around the National Mall, starting at...

...the United States Capitol. Here...

...is a picture of the National Mall from the Capitol, with the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial in the background.

And...

...the Capitol from the middle of the National Mall.

We also spent some time at the National Aquarium, where we saw—among other things...

...this little seahorse!

Of course, we saw...

...the White House, and also...

...Pennsylvania Avenue, looking down from the White House to the Capitol.

We drove behind...

...the Lincoln Memorial, so unfortunately, we did not get a shot of the President Lincoln's statue, but we did see...

...the Pentagon, from the Potomac River.

Also from the Potomac, we saw...

...the sign for U.S. Route 1 and Interstate 395, as well as...

...a plane leaving Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

Back on dry land, we also saw...

...the Jefferson Memorial with the Washington Monument in the background.

On Saturday, we toured the museums of the Smithsonian Institution, beginning with...

...the National Air and Space Museum, which holds the Charles Lindbergh's plane, the Spirit of St. Louis, as well as...

...the plane used by the Wright Brothers in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, in 1903.

The museum also featured...

...an actual lunar module from the Apollo Space Program to commemorate the Fortieth Anniversary of the first man on the moon, and...

...the spacesuits of both American astronaut John Glenn and Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who was the first human in outer space.

Next we moved to the Museum of Natural History, which has...

...dinosaurs!

It also has...

...the Hope Diamond, and...

...a butterfly garden.

We then moved on to the National Museum of American History, which has such exhibits as...

...road signs from cities named after American Presidents...

...a pair of Muhammad Ali's boxing gloves...

...the original Kermit the Frog and...

...Oscar the Grouch, and also...

...the original Bob Campbell doll from the 1970s TV show, Soap.

Later that night, we took the Washington Metro from...

...the Foggy Bottom/GWU Station to...

...Nationals Park, home of the Washington Nationals, currently the worst team in Major League Baseball.

Playing the San Diego Padres, the game started out great, with Nationals' third-baseman Ryan Zimmerman...

...hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. Then...

...a storm came, and...

...out came the tarps. The game would eventually resume after a three-hour rain delay, but unfortunately, we left after about 90 minutes or so, since it was still raining quite steadily.

Finally, I saw a bit of an distinctly named street...

...Taxation Without Representation Street. This phrase, made famous by Patrick Henry during the American Revolution, is also on the Washington, D.C. license plates, and refers to D.C. residents having to pay taxes without having equal representation in the United States Congress like the 50 states have. For more information on that, you can read here, if you'd like!

Certainly, it goes without saying, but I spent almost all of the trip saying to myself, "How can I incorporate this into Marathon?" Well, I figured that I would have to start small, with...

...just a simple Washington Metro Post, which will now be used for all Marathon Metro stations henceforth. Don't worry, though, I have other inspired ideas to work with, too!

And of course, we have...

...our current count!

Well, I'm off to bed, only about six more hours until I get up for...my first day of work!

In a bit!
