Ooh, I've never been a double-zero replier before, so hopefully (if someone doesn't beat me), this will be my first! This is some beautiful work here, Thundercrack83. Keep it up!

Well-done mosaic, Dustin. It isn't easy to make fields look that neat! Good use of the seasonal trees, too.

Zack (woodb3kmaster): Thanks, my friend! I'm not sure, but you may be able to find those farms on the 3RR Exchange (3RREX), though I haven't checked for certain. Thanks for coming by!

metarvo: If that's all you want as repayment, I will do my best to oblige! Thank so much for your continued support, my friend!

Robin (rooker1): No problem, Robin! I just returned from doing some Christmas shopping, so I know how the season can liven things up! I hope the boys are having a blast in the snow! This time of year was always my favorite as a child. Hope all is well, Robin!

Karin (Lilojame): Hi, Karin! Surprise time is almost here! I hope you enjoy it!

flyinbird93: Thanks! I've never been to Kansas—One day, though, I hope! Take care!

bat: Thanks so much, bat!

Don (homefryes): #300 is all yours, my friend! What a great welcome to Marathon for you! And, you may call me Dustin, if you'd like! Hope to see you around here more often!

Joan (Jmouse): Thanks, Joan! I'm a novice at the farm stuff, so I'll probably show more of it as my skills progress. Always good to see you here!

kimcar: No worries about missing things, my friend! It's great to see you here, no matter when it is! Thanks for coming by!

First—

DECEMBER 8

Today's picture!

Now, we move on to this surprise I've been talking about, though I'm not sure if everyone is going to like it...

Well, as a special treat for being in OSITM this month, I thought I would take a cue from my good friend Robin (rooker1) and come up with some kind of game for everyone to play.

So here it is...

...That's right—we're going to play Jeopardy!

What I've done is taken categories and clues from old episodes of Jeopardy! and we'll play here just like on television, though with a few changes to make it work, obviously!

Here's how it works...

There will be three rounds, the Jeopardy! round from December 8 - December 12, the Double Jeopardy! round from December 15 - December 19, and Final Jeopardy!, which I'll explain more in-depth below.

The first two rounds are the same—five categories, each with one clue per day. The players will have 24 hours to answer, and the first person to post and get a question right gets the corresponding dollar amount. You can try to answer them all in one shot to get all the money, or you can answer the ones you know right away and try to get the others later. Just be reminded that the first person to answer a certain question gets the money! Edited posts will be disqualified! I will keep a running track of how much money each contestant has (anyone can be a contestant!) and post it with each daily round.

If you see someone has answered all five questions, don't give up and try to answer yourself—they may be wrong somewhere!

For Final Jeopardy!, there will be three categories, each with one clue, and each contestant will have a period of 24 hours to make a wager (the most you can bet is your total winnings), based on the three categories. If you answer all three correct, you will have 100% of your wager added to your total. If you answer two correct, you'll have 60% added, and 30% added for one correct. If you answer all three incorrect you, get nothing added on.

The person with the most money at the end of Final Jeopardy! wins the game, as well as a copy of the SC4D LEX DVD, compliments of me!

Obviously, you can look the answers up on the Internet, but come on—that takes the fun out of it!

And of course, don't forget to put your answer in the form of a question!

Here we go! Good luck!

We passed 300 replies today, too! I keep saying it, but thank you all so much!

And don't worry, Jeopardy! won't get in the way of the regularly-scheduled events her in Marathon!

Hey Dustin,
Awesome picture for today.

Jeopardy, what a great surprising idea.

I'll give the first on a try.
What is Saigon?

The rest look a little too hard for me.  I have never really watched Jeopardy.  I should give it a try some time.

Robin  ;)
Call me Robin, please.

Great pictures there thundercrack... and congratulations for your award, your building technique is awesome and the level of deatil and realism is superb. And now, the game... finally someone posts a game that I like: about general culture... let me see if I get some of then right..  ;D

For $200: What is Ho chi Minh?
For $400: Who is Ivan?
For $600: I don't know... let's take a guess... I think it's something from Asia or so... let's say: What is Khmer Rouge?
For $800:without a doubt: What is Algiers?

Anyway, as always, great work and the best of lucks for this magnificent MD

Alan

woodb3kmaster

Good idea throwing a game into your MD, Dustin! There's nothing like giving people an incentive to post. Anyway, here are my answers:

$800: Who is Michael Crichton?
$1000: What is Algiers?

Feel brand new. Be inspired.

We're getting close! Here's some correct answers...

$200: Robin (rooker1), What is Saigon?
$400: Joan (Jmouse), What is Ivan?
$600: No correct answers, yet.
$800: Zack (woodb3kmaster), Who is Michael Crichton?
$1000: Zack (woodb3kmaster), What is Algiers?

alan_vzla: Hi, my friend—unfortunately, your first two answers were already taken, and you accidentally answered Algiers for the $800 question instead of the $1000 one. Don't worry, though! You'll have plenty of time to get on the board!

QUICK CLARIFICATION: For the category "Sounds Like a Army Unit," the answer will be a word that is also used as a unit for troops in the military—e.g. squad, detachment, etc.

More from Marathon to come!

Good luck!

Jmouse

For $600: What is The Red Army Faction?

Lilojame

DARN!!! Joan beat me at it, lol...

Wonderful idea there Dustin and the picture looks superb!

Visit my MD Rainbow Falls or check Rainbow Falls Out of the Box or maybe check on my bats&lots visiting Lilojame´s Corner or if you wish go to Lilojame´s Candidacies.

Hi Dustin

Congratulation for having more than 300 posts in your super MD

Teaser of December 7: this mosaic is really wonderful my friend, these fields look so réalistic, as well
Teaser of December 8: Fantastic city, the highway look super. Great effect in this picture

So, I'm looking forward to the next update my friend

Always impressive to see your work here. I know I mentioned I would be scarce around here (finals and all) but I just stopped by for a quick look before bed. The last farm pic was great and the urban pic for this update is amazing. Great selection of BATs. It looks dense without being overcrowded.

As for the $600 question, What is brigade (The Red Brigade)?

bat

Nice work on the newest picture there! Wonderful!
And nice idea with Jeopardy...

thundercrack83

Joan (Jmouse): Sorry, Joan! That's incorrect. Good try, though!

Karin (Lilojame): Don't worry, Karin! You'll have more chances! Thanks for stopping in!

David (Simpson): Hi, David! Thank you so much, I'm glad that you enjoy the teasers!

Matt (threestooges): Hi, Matt! I hope finals are treating you as well as finals can! That's one thing about school that I can safely say I don't miss! As for your answer—Hmmm....

bat: Thanks, bat! It's always great to see you here!

DECEMBER 9

I haven't played a whole lot with canals, but I thought of somewhere they could be useful in Marathon, so there's no time like the present to start practicing, right? I think I need some more practice, though...

Now...

We have all the correct answers!

$200: Robin (rooker1), What is Saigon?
$400: Joan (Jmouse), What is Ivan?
$600: Matt (threestooges), What is Brigade?
$800: Zack (woodb3kmaster), Who is Michael Crichton?
$1000: Zack (woodb3kmaster), What is Algiers?

He's the current money totals after the first day...

I should have asked a question before I answered, do you lose money for a wrong answer? You do in Jeopardy but I do not believe it was discussed in the rules. If that is the case I would have not answered the 200, 600 and 800 dollar questions. Either way great idea &apls

EDIT: Hello! I was originally going to have you lose money for the wrong answer, but I'd rather have people play and have fun than worry about losing money and not play. Thanks for coming by and playing, my friend!

NOTE: This edit was made by me in order merge the two posts and keep my post count from running up. Thanks for double-posting instead of editing your post, according to the game rules! - Dustin (thundercrack83)

For $600: Who is Slinger?

Too busy to play Jeopardy today, but never too busy to stop by and compliment you on another great scene from Marathon. Good use of the canals - I'd think you saw them every day in RL if I didn't know better!
