Heheh, leave it to you Dustin to design something elaborate for a simple problem such as this!  :D Can't wait to see what you do with the street!

It will be interesting to see how this complex turns out - it's already growing by leaps and bounds with scarcely a structure placed yet! :D

My first reaction to the last photo
wasn't aesthetics, it was the sight of too many intersections too close together. That's going to be a busy place during an event, so successful mobility could be tricky to achieve. This makes me even more anxious to see the plan you haven't unveiled yet.

Excellent choice Dustin - and a great idea  &idea

Looking forward to see how you will finish the mobility aspect of the complex!

Hello again,

I'm just checking in to one of my favourite Mayor Diaries, since it's been ages since I last visited and posted a message. Tho I'm used to writing somewhat large messages here, I am desperately in need of time, and thus I will keep this one plain and simple.

Splendid.

I wish you all the best, Dustin! I hope I'll be able to check in later on, and have more time for a more thorough message.  :)

Joe (JoeST): Thanks, Joe! The SAM is definitely an option we'll be looking into!

Alfred.Jones: Hey, my friend! The suspense is killing me, too, actually—but don't fret, any and all progress will be documented here! As soon as I know, you'll know!

Arthur (art128): Thank you, Arthur!

Guillaume (Sciurus): Thanks, my friend!

Robin (rooker1): Hey, Robin! Thank you! How do I come up with these ideas? Well, as Joe Cocker sang in the opening of The Wonder Yearswith a little help from my friends! As for Jon's idea, I'm very interested to see what he comes up with, too! Take care!

bat: Danke!

deathtopumpkins: You're very correct! It looks like I forgot Occam's Razor there for a moment! Thanks for coming by!

Joan (Jmouse): Hi, Joan! Your point about the intersections is definitely a good one, I hadn't thought of that! Though, the way I envision the area come gametime or event-time, most people would be coming to the area via mass transit, so traffic wouldn't be as heavy as one would think. Maybe Marathon would even go so far as Pittsburgh does when there are Pirates games at PNC Park, shutting down the Roberto Clemente Bridge and Federal Street to accommodate those going to the games. There's definitely going to be tie-ups in the area, though, no doubt about it! Thanks, as always, for your input and support, my friend!

sebes: Thank you so much! Hopefully, we'll have more development soon!

Casper (caspervg): Hi, Casper! Good to see you again, my friend! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments! Hope all is well with you!

Corey (Nexis): Ha! Not the entire city, just a significant portion!

We've been in sports complex mode for quite some time now, so I thought to myself...What is would be considered the "anti"-sports complex...

Perhaps a ball-field in the middle of nowhere?

If you build it...he will come...

Still working and working! Hopefully, there will be more development to show very soon!

In a bit!

Sheep49

Hehe... A field in the middle of nowhere? I see why have you made that 'Field of Dreams' reference. :D

Nice work with that area there! Not your best (If I were you, I would build it even further from the road. That would be a real nowhere! And the trees in this area look a little bit too high IMHO) , but still very good. I'm wondering where does the dirt street go... Perhaps the middle of the field and the house of the farm's owner. ::)

Good work! Can't wait for more ;)

Oh wow... pretty shot, but I can't see why on earth they would build one there?  :P

What the hey - why not! Everybody needs a field of dreams. This time I won't even complain about parking - The side of that dirt road will work just fine. :) That photo speaks a thousand words, and every one of them is good.

Piotr (Sheep49): Hi, Piotr! Thanks for your great comments! I threw that picture together on a whim, since I thought of the anti-sports complex idea, though if I were to put more thought into it, your suggestions would be at the top of my list! Thanks again, my friend, and I hope to see you back soon!

bat: Thanks so much! It's always great to see you here, my friend!

Arthur (art128): Hi, Arthur! Thank you very much!

David (Simpson): Hi, there! No problem about missing things, it happens sometimes! It's OK! I'm glad you're liking things, too. Thanks for coming by!

Guillaume (Sciurus): You're probably right—poor field out there all by it's lonesome! Who would it talk to, the corn? Thank you so much, my friend, for stopping by! À bientôt, j'espère!

deathtopumpkins: Ha! I don't know, we should probably ask Kevin Costner that question! Thanks for dropping in, my friend!

Joan (Jmouse): Hi, Joan! You're right about the dirt road, fields like these remind me of my little league days! I'm so glad you like it! Take care, Joan!

Pat: Much appreciated, my friend! Much appreciated!

nova vesfalo: Hello! Thank you for stopping in and leaving a comment! It's so wonderful to have you here, my friend! Hope to see you here again!

Emperor Stormont: Hey, another newcomer! Welcome to Marathon! I'm glad you enjoy things here, and I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Messing about in Photoshop this early Monday morning (in the eastern United States, that is!)...

Just a nondescript shot of a highway tunnel...Off to the right, though, you can see Marathon's first instance of the Rookery Building—another wonderful creation by our good friend and BATter extraordinaire Jon (JBSimio). Yet another outstanding building there, another in a very long line of them!

Oh, and I've stumbled upon a bit of a strange occurrence...

Using a splendid tutorial by Dan (dsrwhat316)—one of many I might add—I attempted to create some 1x1, non-conforming lots (please disregard the horribly off-centered tree!). The above it what I got for my efforts. I won't lie, I haven't the foggiest idea what happened! If anyone could give some insight on how to rectify it, I would be eternally grateful!

Thanks in advance!

JoeST

heh, that does seem a bit odd, but I guess that the building is sticking to the slope... and thus is "under" the pavement. good luck

its looking great tho :)

Great picture there, Dustin! The sunken highway area looks very realistic and awesome. And yeah, you're right: Jon's BATs are really great! :)

Also, regarding your problems... To be honest, it's the first time I see something like this in my entire life &mmm If I were you, though, I'd open that lot again and try different options in 'Lot Foundation' here. But that's strange nonethless.

Well, I can't wait to see more!
