New NAM/RHWv3 = No tunnels?

I'm not sure it this has anything to do with the FLUP directly or the NAM/RHW in general, but I can't seem to make tunnels anymore. Tunnels have saved me a million times, and I was looking for them to save me a million more times. However, I cannot build tunnels. As I stated before, with the previous version of NAM/RHW, I could build tunnels perfectly with no problems. I don't see why I am having problems now. Is it because of the FLUP, or some bug/glitch that the developers seem to have missed?

Thanks

hmm... it sounds like if you removed a slope mod during NAM installation.

I don't understand...

Was I supposed to have removed my slope mod before the NAM install? I have no tunnels at all as I had accidentally deleted my entire region with a population of 1 million+. I was kinda lost in motivation to resume playing until NAM Jan 09/RHW v3 came out.

Can someone guide me through to fix this issue?

Thanks

choco

i think what allan_kuan is saying is that you may have changed/removed/added a slope mod, which can make building tunnels easier (in some cases), or more difficult (in others).  there's quite a few out there as well....

if you use any of the hole digger lots, chances are pretty good you have a slope mod.

I didn't remove any slope/hole digger mods when I installed the new NAM/RHW. All I did was run the Cleanitol file then ran the installation.

So what happens when you drag a road (etc.) over a steep mountain? Does the option to build a tunnel not even come up?

No, it just goes all red as if the tunnel option was never there. I try not to complete the tunnel, then the slope mod kicks in. I really don't get it. Yes, I did try to make a tunnel without the slope mod and got the same results.

I think I'll do a reinstall of all my plugins, including the NAM/RHW when I get some time.

NAM and RHW don't affect the slope mod and vice versa. The slope mod decides abou maximum slope of your transit networks, their smoothnes and ability to create bridges and tunnels in various terrain conditions. The slope mod will work in the same way, no matter if you have NAM installed or not.

It is difficult to make tunnels without a slope mod, especially when you have a moderate slope. I suppose you accidentally removed your slope mod.

Try to check it in empty Plugins folder.
a) run the game with an empty Plugins folder, look what will happen. If you will still have a problem, we will think...
b) add only the slope mod (I suggest my slope mod, it was designed especially to make tunnels on moderate slopes. You can find it in the LEX).
c) Add NAM and RHW (nothing else). Look what will happen.

Then tell us about effects. If everything will work properly in a, b and c cases, it will mean that something bad sits in your Plugins and we will try to find it. Reinstalling all plugins is a lot of work and we can't be sure if it will help.

Ennedi... I'm actually using YOUR slope mod.

I removed everything that I installed after the NAM/RHW. My plugins folder was untouched until the new NAM.

legoman786

You guys were right... It was a bad plugin...

I do not know exactly which one it was, and I do not care to find out lol.

I'm glad you solved the problem
However I would suggest you to find this bad plugin. It can make you troubles in future too. Both NAM and my slope mod are correct, it was checked by a lot of people.
Your bad plugin can be another, old slope mod. You can find them by searching Plugins. Type "slope" in the search box. There are also a few (very few) other plugins which can cause such effect, but I should find their names, because I don't use them and don't know them good.
