I've been getting more and more intrigued by the RHW, and felt it was time to make some intercity highways.

I've tried it using RHW 2 and I couldn't make it work. I, essentially, gave up until RHW 3 rolled around.

With all the new possibilities of the RHW 3, I decided to give it a spin again. I'm not sure how to do it, so I tried using avenues.

I laid my highways and the only traffic I get is freight. That's why I'm here to ask you guys how to correctly set up an intercity transit system using RHW 3.

I have a picture. I tried embedding, but it's too large.

You have to connect the RHW-4 with a RHW-2 in order for people to use your connection. I don't think avenues like that will work because I think the game thinks the connection is one way.

Would you happen to have a tutorial or some pictures handy to show this?

I appreciate it.

I am pretty sure that there is a section in the RHW readme which states on how to achieve proper neighbor connection.

Yeah, I just read the Readme.

I found the section with "loop connections."

Thanks for all your help guys.

EDIT: Actually, one more question... Do I need to do this with every connection? Or only on one side?

kj3400

Yes both sides of a connection, or it won't work...the game will think it's still a one way deal.

GAH...

Way to go Maxis >_>

Thanks guys

I usually just use the Maxis Highways for neighbor connections.

Legoman, heres the thing, for some reason only fully dragging a loop connection across the median gets it to work. I have tried it half way, but the game does not like traffic entering, then going no where, so that is why were stuck having to use a loop connection.

I usually just use the Maxis Highways for neighbor connections.

While that works for RHW-4s that are directly adjacent--and maybe the RHW-6S, it won't work for any of the other Wider RHWs.  It won't allow traffic to enter/exit on the same tile, which is necessary for proper functionality of RHW Neighbor Connections.

Since the question has been asked at least a dozen times in the past 2 weeks and 2-3 separate threads have been opened about it, I've made a post showing a functional Wider RHW Neighbor Connection, which can be seen here.
