Ripplejet has a set of instructions at the Prop Pox thread discussing using "Reader" on Windows to look at the subfiles in a city .sc4 file. What would the equivalent be to Reader on OSX?

There really isn't one to be honest. 
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it
