Is it possible to creat a mis over mis over rhw4 network? and if the awnser is Yes, how do i make this, is there a tut. (a beginners one) on building puzzelpieces and networks for RHW.

MandelSoft

There are no three-deck pieces for the RHW yet (and probably this is the same with other networks). Even the two-deck setups for the RHW aren't completed yet (like diagonal overpasses). It looks that it's not likely to happen that this puzzle piece will be created soon. So the answer is no.

Thanx, but i also already figured out that there are no p.p. like that in the NAM ;) but is it possible to create theme? i saw somewhere on simtrop or sc4d that it's possible to have 16 networks on one tile! but i couldn't find any starter tut. on making transit networks. tut's on making transit networks are there, yes, but non i can find that arn't abracadabra!?
P.s. the M on MTG  stands for Maarten hahaha

it was only recently discovered that we could have 3 networks on a tile.....as the guys at Kurier were able to extend the GLR in Ave pieces to cross other networks.  not sure where you read that 16 networks is possible.....but thats not really true.

making any puzzle pieces isn't abracadabra.....it takes a good bit of knowledge and work.  many on the NAM team have done so many pieces that the turnaround time perhaps undermines the level of difficulty in adding them.  it takes time to learn, so dont expect to get all the info you need in one article.

as for the technical limitations, its possible to make such a 3-tiered piece.  however, considering the traffic you are suggesting here, this will not work.  the cars would simply jump from one tier to the next to reduce commute times.  this happens when the paths are oriented in the same direction, for the same automata type.  these are limitations to the game, so we can only work around them.

Korot

I think that he got the 16 networks from the thing that a puzzle piece can only be 16 tiles in size, or was it 16 x 16 tiles? However, I think that mtg means something like an ortho MIS crossing another ortho MIS, with a diagonal RHW-4 crossing that, or something like that.

Jonathan

What I don't understand is how you want this 3 network piece, do you want them to cross each other (at different heights I know)or run parallel(such as El-Rail over Road pieces)?

I don't see how you can have 3 networks crossing each other, unless 2 of them are running parallel?
A puzzle piece can only be 16 x16 tiles, so Korot you are right. The 3 networks on one tile, that was discovered by Chrisim and then I changed it some, as it should be called 3 different networks on one tile, because MIS, MIS and RHW-4 are all the same network, Rural Highway (technically it is called dirtroad in the RULs).
The 3 networks on one tile is the discovery of GLR(El-Rail), Road, and Rail. They are all seperate networks, and all use different paths. Before the discovery a piece with El-Rail, Road and Highway for example was kind of possible, just not created yet, because Road and Highway both share the same type of path(Car path).

As you can see in the pic below i like to make a rhw crossing with two elavated mis networks crossing!

btw. mis over mis over rhw4 over rhw4 would be cool! but i will not push it  ;D

Ahh, ok now I understand,
well you couldn't make a piece like that anyway until Alex (Tarkus) has made double height networks, so for the moment you'll have to work a round it, like having the 2 RHW-4s tunnels, and then you can do MIS over MIS (I think)

Jonathan

Tarkus

Double-Height MIS is actually in the works and will be in a future RHW release, along with a piece similar to what you're requesting, more than likely.
