This poll is designed to see how well current mass transit stations fit the needs of their users.  I would appreciate it if people included all the MT stations they have looked at in their assessment, included those that they haven't downloaded or used because they felt that the station's capacity wasn't right for them.  Also, after voting, it would be extremely helpful if you made a very short post below indicating your voting choice, which traffic simulator you use (A through E, or Z), and which level of the simulator you usually use (Standard, 2x, or 5x; Hard, Medium, or Easy; or Low, Medium, High, or Ultra).  If you typically use more than one level, you can list them all.  This information will help make the information in the voting choices more meaningful.

Maxis stations are being excluded from this survey because they were not designed for the custom traffic simulators now in use.  RTMT stations are being excluded partially because they have multiple capacity levels, and partially because feedback about their capacity levels has already been obtained.

I voted for way too low.. but
I might add i tend to build some pretty large cities compared to most..
My 2 largest cities are about 1.3 mil and 800 K..

I am currently using traffic Sim Z on a setting between low to medium, but closer to medium now i would say..

thanks , brian

Those actually aren't particularly large cities.  But in any case, it's the larger cities I'm most concerned with here.  Even the Maxis stations can serve a small town, or a rural area.  But stations that are built as urban stations should be able to serve the largest cities (or at least have versions that do), and the results of this poll (and a similar one I'm running at ST) are saying that players are finding that this isn't the case.  And if standards are being set for stations, I think it's important to look at these results.  I think that one of the criteria for whether a station is properly designed is whether its capacity is great enough to serve its target environment.  And for urban stations, that target design has to be large, urban cities - otherwise, what will builders of those cities use for stations?

I voted for about right, as I find most stations have a good capacity, although I find that some such as the RTMT Bus/Subway stations can get overused very easily by some of the HK highrises of which I tend to use a lot of.

I can't remember which simulator I'm using (is there any way to check without reinstalling?) but I'm using the 5x and Easy options.

When making a reply, make sure to include the size of your cities in terms of population..
which I think is a crucial factor is all this.

Thanks, Brian

You can find out what traffic simulator you're using by looking in the Network Addon Mod subfolder in your Plugins folder.  The traffic simulators all start with the string "NetworkAddonMod_Traffic_Plugin".

The 5x and Easy options belong to two different traffic simulators.  Whichever is listed last in your folder is the one that's being used.

For higher capacities with RTMT, please install the Road Top Mass Transit Patch V3.51 and choose the "High" option, described in the Readme.

Oops lol, I suppose that just shows how much attention I pay to installations!  :-[
Ok, I had a look and I'm using the E PerfectPathfinding 5xCapacity plugin.

Honestly I have found it depends on the lots

Some Maxis stations are ok, while others are not.  Same applies to user created lots as well.

I tend to plop more user created lots based on size when I first start out, but several times I have needed to plop a second on the other side to relieve the initial station as well.

I use simulator Z ultra

I voted for about right, I use easy with a city of about 50k. But i agree it depends on the station and city. Some stations, for example train stations, have IMHO, extremely high capacities, especially for some of the smaller ones. these are hard to use as part of a network, especially since I tend to use multiple routes and transit options
