I am about to go bonkers trying to figure this out:

I have a river going through town, like so many others, and I can build any one-lane bridge across it, be it rail, road etc.  But I cannot get an avenue, highway, or raised highway bridge no matter what I do to coax one out of it.  I run CAM, NAM -with the additional bridges, and that's about it.  It's all been updated recently, the NAM is April 2009 version.

There is nothing fancy about the difference in heights between the two sides of the river, it's all been done with crude god-terraforming tools available with vanilla SimCity4.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you can solve this one or give me a pointer on something I am missing, please let me know.  I am a man walking in the dark  %confuso, ready to go crazy.

I have also noticed my elevated highway has become incredibly cheap, and I don't recall downloading any MOD which would change that.

1. A picture of your river would be helpful  :)
2. As for highway costs - maybe you downloaded my (Ennedi) slope mod? It decreases all transit networks costs.

I did download your Mod, and discovered afterwards I had placed all three versions of it in my plugins -doh.  But then when I tried the medium and mountain versions, I still couldn't get my bridge to place -I am going to try the smooth one later when i get a chance.  I will see about posting a pic when I get a chance.

I really appreciate your response -and your mod is cool! I just need to use it correctly.

Some bridges have minimum lengths, but this shouldn't be the problem. Check to see if you can build a basic road bridge across both tiles where the dual network should go (keep in mind, bridges cannot be placed next to each other, you'll need a 1 tile gap) so you'll have to destroy one bridge to check the other. Also, check to see if the issue occurs at other places along the river or just at this spot. A picture of the area, as Adam mentioned would help, but no rush on it though.

I have found that raising the land slightly on either side of the river almost invariably solves this problem, even with the slope mod installed.  It's also important that the two sides of the river be of approximately the same elevation.

Dexist

yeah same height and the it should be like this

land   |  water  water  |  land
land   |  water  water  |  land

not like this

land   \  water  water    /  land
land    |  water  water  /  land

or somthing like that

so if you make the coastline straight it would work.

but post a picture!,
