amapper: Thanks for stopping in. I appreciate your kind words.

Delecto: Nice to see you here. Thanks, and stop by again.

Battlecat: Thanks Battlecat. I have to thank Tomas Neto for the inspiration he gave me to make those paths. Now that I've started making them I can't seem to stop  &mmm

Tomas Neto: I'm glad you like the paths, since I basically lifted the idea from you  ::) As for the suburbs, I've got a whole bunch more below. Thanks again.

Yan077: Thank you for the great compliment my friend. Always nice to see you here in Monument Valley.

Nexis4Jersey: Thank you very much. I design those suburbs similar to what I knew growing up in the midwest U.S.

io_bg: I enjoy making the burbs and the river both. I'm glad you like the results. Thank you for the nice compliment.

Ethan (ecoba): Thank you very much Ethan. That is game water. This region's game water is very shallow, and as a result I've had the opportunity to play with the rivers where in other regions in this MD I have not. Most of the game water in Monument is a bit too deep to be able to work with.

Schulmanator: Thanks for that Schulmanator! I appreciate your applause.

ManuelR: Thank you for your support Manuel. It's nice to have you here.

Gjermund (kwakelaar): Thanks for the great compliment. You make a pretty mean map yourself. I'll continue to post maps from time to time.

Valley Junction is a rural manufacturing town ideally located. It is reliant on lumber from the South and on markets throughout Monument Valley.

What a beautiful place, I would love to live there!
You are a real master Geoff, all details are perfect, but everything looks very natural. The city is very well harmonized with the surrounding greenery. Great work!  &apls

Excellent update!  Valley junction is quite inspiring, I really like how you've laid out your various subdivisions.  Also, the river looks particularly nice, great detailing in that area!

Here's a short Christmas update.

The Valley Junction region along the Bly River is part of the Bly River National Recreation Area, a unit of the National Park Service.

Fort Bly, originally known as Fort Steele, is a former military fortification located along the Bly River in Monument Valley, United States. The Historic Fort Bly, run by the Monument Valley Historical Society, is located on top of the river bluff. The land at the bottom of the bluff is protected as Fort Bly State Park, run by the Monument Valley Department of Natural Resources.

Be safe and enjoy your holiday. Merry Christmas and a belated Happy Hanukkah.

Your cities looks great.  :D What lots are you using for your retail outlets?  :o

Battlecat

This is a very nice touch for your region.  The ruined fort looks fantastic!

Thanks Scott. I'm using so many that I lose track, but I'm using a lot of Spa's buildings, Deadwoods, and of course Simgoober. They all make very recognizable national retail stores. I hope that helps!

Battlecat: Thanks Battlecat. I'm glad you liked the fort.

danielcote: I'm glad you liked the peaceful neighborhoods. You should like this update as well. It's focus is on Timberland's suburbs.

Tomas Neto: Thanks again Tomas. I'm glad you enjoy Monument Valley. I appreciate your continued support.

Timberland is a thriving city. It is a transportation hub and a center for business. Goods from all over Monument Valley make their way by rail, road, and air to Timberland and are routed to the rest of the country and to the world.

The population is primarily middle to upper-middle class. Timberland's suburbs are sprawling and stretch far and wide.

The merchants in the city of Timberland have made fortunes through the buying and selling of the resources of Monument Valley. Their hard work and ambition have created a vibrant and successful city.

Again great pictures Geoff!
I like winding streets and the RHW layout!

I have one question: Did you do something with base textures of small homes? They blend so nicely with terrain textures  :)

Looks great.  I like the wide radius curves through your residential area, looks very nice indeed!  It's a great looking town all around, looking forward to what's next!

Fantastic pictures of the river and the areas around it! Great work on your city!

Thanks Adam. When I take the pictures into Photoshop I turn up the contrast and that blends the different grass textures together and covers up the edge. It's not something I did intentionally, it was an accident really.

Thank you for the nice compliment Evillions8. I played EVE Online for quite a long time actually. My character is still sitting in storage waiting to be reactivated. You've obviously noticed the picture I'm using is a character from the game  ::)
