My plugin folder is about 2.3 GB, has 2635 files / 474 folders in it. I just use the directory the installer suggests. It's totally disorganized, but it may change during this christmas break. The only thing that I do sort of organize is putting all sorts of Dependencies into on folder, conviently named "Dependencies". That's it.

Just out of curiosity, how much does installing the CAM (with the basic CAMeLOT sets) add to your plugins?

oldrogue

Off the top of my head can't tell you how much...I can tell you that it didn't add an iota of loading time to my system, with  the Dat Packer.
Sometimes I go into my own little world....but it's ok, they know me there.

bwatterud

Oh well.  I guess I'll find out in a week.   :D

My CAM folder is only about 20MB, but I think that pretty much only includes the basic lots, and of course NONE of the dependencies. Really, it's the dependencies that get you.

My largest subfolder, which doesn't seem so shocking, is BSC, which weighs in at 1.24GB (over 800MB of which is in the BSC Props subfolder). The 2nd largest is NDEX, in at 297MB. And third is SimGoober, at a measily 250MB.

bwatterud - If you choose to download all of the available lots for CAM, and all the dependencies, you're looking at roughly 3GB of downloads, translating into at least 2GB of PlugIns added. Minus of course whatever dependencies you already have, and any lots that are replaced. Once you run the Cleanitol files and then get rid of the ploppables you can slim that down considerably though.

High5Tower

My plugins today total   2.96GB
From this CAM is           1.15GB

I pulled out all the Mega Packs for CAM since they were making my BSC folder to fat.
At this time I would say I have at least 90% of all the CAM downloads.

The only file that does not like to be data packed is GR_GarageBlock. For some reason the building prop vanishes.
So I keep it in its own lonely little file and it works fine that way.

I had 1.22GB this morning, and I decided to get some more residentials and commercials, and now its 1.24GB :)

Of course, my folder is pretty messy. If you are wondering why it is so large, I downloaded HEAPS AND HEAPS AND HEAPS AND HEAPS of stuff- like 6 pages worth of dependencies, when I got the CAM and wanted ALL of their recommended custom content  :-\

I am an obsessive downloader, if I see something I like, I have to have it.

But the good thing is, now that I have *most* of these MEGA packs downloaded, dependencies aren't as big an issue. I prefer to download dependencies from SC4Devotion, purely because of this nifty little function that tells me if I already have it- the STEX doesn't do that. I mainly use the STEX for little misc. stuff that would be hard to find on the LEX.

FrankU

Yup.
LEX content is much better quality; Cleanitol, always a readme and some pictures. Installing is simple and you alway know what a file represents. I have downloaded much more than I use.
I put everything in an archive folder and put just a selection of it into my pluginsfolder. And without a picture I will surely not know what the file represents...

But the search function of the STEX is much better!

2.77GB now, after clearing out a lot of recent downloads. Trying to figure out why my game is crashing so much all of a sudden.

JoeST

I spent yesterday redoing mine (again) and went from 3.25 gb down to 1.95 gb.....it just gets so very unwieldy scrolling thru a gazillion things to get to the one building I want.....sigh...life is sooooo tough ::)

Everyone here seem to have ENORMOUS plugin-folders, mine is only 186 mb...  :-[

Godzillaman

Oh, I've been known to go on a downloading binge every now and then. TopSecret missions and all. I have 1400 zip files in my download folder.
