Props have Disappeared...

Alright, I'll get right to the point. Most lots in my simcity 4 deluxe have begun to show signs that there missing props. For example, none of my lots have parking lots anymore, but still show parked cars. My parks don't have trees in them, just a light post in the middle. My police and fire stations are pretty much just a building surrounded by different colored textures. It's very anoyying and it appears to be getting worse. I did not have this issue before I started downloading mods into the game. There's been mention of prop pox going around. I would like to know your thoughts, ideas, and advice so that my lots can return to normal and my sims don't have to park on the grass anymore. I do have several mods installed in my plugins folder and I can provide a list if you need. Thanks!

First of all check your graphics settings. If you recently updated the graphics may have been set back to low detail.
Second, a picture of an affected city would help.
Third, prop pox doesn't "go around". It is not a virus distributed by malicious files. Search for Prop Pox and you will find there are two associated threads. Read them and see which matches your scenario.
I am moving this to the appropriate Board as it is not a specific BSC problem.

Sounds like you've accidentally removed something. This one sounds like a texture that you had once but has been removed from your plugin's.

What trees on what park? A picture is worth a thousand words. Doesn't sound like a Maxis park. So I am at a loss without further information.

A Maxis fire station or one that you donwloaded? I doubt that is the fault a any one mod and it does not sound like the pox. Most likely a file you once had but now you do not ( or never had ) . . .

thanks for the replys, sorry for the lack of detail. I have my graphic settings on Medium, it crashes less that way..thank gosh. Also, these are maxis fire;police stations, maxis parks, and mostly maxis growable and plotable lots.



This is a maxis lot that is missing the parking lot but still has a few cars. Also theres a tile thats missing, im not sure what of think of that.


This is a zoomed out view that shows how there isnt any parking lots.



Residental lots missing props....most notably the drive ways.


Heres a pic of a few civic buildings...minus the subway station...small fire station, small police station, clinic, school.....all maxis buildings.


Heres the parks that seem to be most effected. these are all maxis parks.


and lastly. Its the only lot in my city to have a parking lot. the IKEA building i downloaded as a growable....possibly a clue?

I have my graphic settings on Medium, it crashes less that way..thank gosh.

In order to see props in the game, you must have the City Details on high.

Every official update from Maxis you make reduces the city details to low.
In order to see the props, medium isn't enough though, it must be high.

omg this happened to me too!! at first i panicked like crazy because i didnt know what was going on and then...  i read this thread and now its all better. hmmm, i never thought to change the settings..... also, this happened right after i installed the nitelite updates, so i thought that caused the props to dissapear. but anyway.....  thanks for telling me how to get my beloved props back!!
