Wow.... what can I say?   :o

What a bid! Yoder, you've out done yourself. Here's a little analysis of your bid (Plan to do this for all the bids in the next day or two)

Financing
Your accounts look great :P. What does B stand for btw?

Transportation:
Airport looks good, large enough to handle the expected influx of visitors the Simlympics would bring.
PARTA is really developed too, would be great for the games. One thing which may cause a problem is having no direct link from the airport to the Simlympic park. But that's no biggy at all.

Attractions and Accommodations
Well, Payens certainly ticks the box for "Culturally diverse nations with plenty of attractions". Very nice :)

Plans for the Simlympics
Logo - I like it. Simple, yet effective.
Slogan - Pretty cool, I like the legacy idea.
Simlympic Flame - Sounds like a good plan!
Simlympic Park - Wow, that's gonna be one hell of a park! I also like the idea of preserving as much green space as possible.

Venues
I like the map! Puts everything into perspective nicely :).

All your venues look amazing, it's really great how you've BATed the majority of the stadiums yourself. Totally unique. I like the way you've listed the use of the venue after the games, helps ensure they won't be white elephants.
My favourite venues are; Simlympic Tennis Centre, Simlympic Stadium, La Roche Convention Centre and the parade ground.

All in all, a very good bid. Good luck!

Yoder7652

Wow...Thanks everyone for the overwhelming response! How about a few replies?.... ;D

@Belfastuniguy - Thanks, I'm glad you liked the update...yes there is alot of custom content that has taken awhile for me to create. I've been putting off a simlympic bid for some time because I had so many buildings planned that I wanted before I did it...but the time is now! :D Glad that you liked my efforts, thanks for the wish.

@Bengt - Thanks, I hope I get the bid, but there are some others at the simlympic website that are impressive so we'll see....but I am biased to think mine is the best  ::) :D I'm glad you liked the redo of Globe Arena...I mean Payens Arena :P :D Yeah, I double posted....I was simultaneously posting here and the simlympic website, so I didn't do comments... &mmm so yeah...double post, my apologies, I'll try not to do it again  :D Glad you liked the new buildings that I've created...after a bit they will make their way to LEX ;) Thanks for stopping by, my friend!

@Yoman - Yes, it is a nice piece of modeling work...Timo did a really good job on it and I was sad to not see it ever completed....so when he asked if anyone wanted to take it on, I jumped at the chance. All of the lower level seats are done, just have the upper deck to do and then the walkways and a few other features......Thanks for the comment.

@Threeswept - Thanks, I took alot of time to write up some details for this update and I liked the result, glad to hear you liked it too. Well, I hope that Payens will do the Simlympics proud if it wins the bid...I have several things in mind for some Simlympics updates that haven't been really done before, so we'll see. As always, thanks for stopping by and commenting, I appreciate it!

@Emilin - Glad to hear you rank it among the best, that is a great compliment because I've seen some good ones. There has been alot of work put into this, in terms of modeling and writing details. I've actually been modeling these buildings since last winter  ::) Thanks for your vote....we'll see it the Simlympic Committee agrees.

@Thundercrack83 - Hahaha, we'll it isn't as good/detailed as a real city's bid, but I did try to acheive some realism and cover as many bases as I could. I'm glad that you liked the result achieved with this bid. As always, thanks for stopping by, my friend.

@Eddie - Thanks for your vote! I'm glad that you liked my relotting of the Globe Arena. Glad to hear you liked the tennis center....I liked making it, but I really like what is developing with the other tennis center that I'm proposing...not to worry, it will all make its way to LEX at some point. As always, it is nice to read your comments...thanks for stopping by.

@Patfirefghtr - Thanks Pat, I'm glad you like the bid! It was a labor of love, hahaha.....now I just have to wait and see if I win the bid...and then finish the work I proposed  &mmm no, no, no worries here, I have most everything done (except the main stadium which I think I can get done in a week or less)....as always thanks for stopping by, Pat!

@Sebes - We'll I didn't make it...I'm just going to finish it. The model...like 97% of it...is Timo's work. I'm just finishing the seating and pathways. I'm think of doing a couple of versions, maybe with the roof open, closed, and with/without the highway underneath...we'll see. Anyways, I'm glad to hear you like the bid. As always, thanks for stopping by, my friend.

@Iamgoingtoeatyou - Crazy?...well maybe  :D :D :D I've been planning the bid and creating buildings for the bid since last dec/jan or so. I really started to work feverishly on the buidings about a month in a half or so to get things done. I still have more to go, but I've got most all the buildings done and some lotted. Well, I'm glad you liked the update and hopefully there will be some more simlympic updates should Payens win the bid! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

@Kimcar - Thanks for the kind words...as I mentioned above, I've been working on some of the buildings since last dec/jan so it didn't all happen overnight. Thanks for commenting on the map...I really like the way the subway map came out and it was fun to make (although it took quite awhile to get it finished). The government is banking its money on the idea that the taxes generated from having the event in Payens will help pay for the costs of hosting the event...a delayed gratification kind of thing  :D Anways, thanks for stopping by and commenting on the bid, I'm glad you liked it!

@Oyd - Thanks for your vote! I'm glad you liked the bid ....and the university ;D

@BossOx - Thanks, I'm glad you like everything, 3 times...wow....I had to re-read it several times to catch typos, but I'm sure that I missed some ::) &mmm Anyways, I'm glad you liked it....the sea walls are apart of oppies canal system. You used to be able to find them on STEX...I think there was a link somewhere in this thread about a link to Simphoni or so...look for a post by Badsim. Well...anyways, thanks for all the positive comments, I appreciate it...thanks!

@Shadow Assassin - Thanks, I'm glad you liked the relotting of the Globe...Thanks for your kind comments, I'm glad you liked the bid...I hope I win too! Thanks for stopping by...SA.

@Gaston - Sorry...I have highspeed now, but I used to operate off dial-up, so I can feel your pain  ;) ...there were alot of images for this update. I'm pleased that someone looked so critically at the subway map, this was one of my favorites to make. Anways, yes...the Jubillee line and Olympic lines are slightly redundant...that said, when I created the Olympic line I was thinking of trying to connect the park with the university while making some stops in the residential areas south of the government district....the jubilee line is really all you need to connect most of the simlympic venues, so the purpose of the olympic line was to reduce some of the natural load from the jubilee line...I do like your suggestions, connecting to the airport would be a nice touch that I didn't really think of (great catch). Anways, thanks for you comments...I really appreciate it!

@Bat - Thanks Bat! I'm glad you liked the update...thanks for stopping by and commenting as always!

@Slacker - Thanks for the great comments and observations...I've addressed most of you questions and comments at the Simlympic website. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Well that is all for tonight...thanks everyone, I appreciate the response!   Cheers...

pipishere

Yeah it really bites when someone has a great update and you have to reload again and again because you don't wanna miss anything.   This was worth the wait and the trouble.   ;D

I can see where it would help with the extra load.    Actually a pretty good way to do it.   The new line will still be very useful after the event.

I just noticed the difficulty in connections.   Passengers leaving the airport would have to transfer very quickly.   And that is never fun carrying lots of luggage.   ;)

Glad I could make a contibution.    Looking forward to more soon.

My, what an impressive bid. A lot of thought has gone into that, and all I can say is that I hope your hard work Payens off for you...! HAHAHA... oh, I am so sorry about that awful joke. But anyway, your city really seems alive, and I am really looking forward to the result of the voting.

Will we be seeing anymore parts of Osturland in the near future?

Fledder200

Great update.

Looking at the diagram for the Payens Tunnel & Lightrail Network, is lightrail and which parts are underground. Its hard to see of the diagram.

Looking forward to see some overview shots. Not necessarily regional shots, but more shots of the different wards. Hard to get a real feel of the city, just seeing shots of the seperate buildings.

Yoder7652

Again...trying to stay on top of my replies..... :-[ ;D

@Pipishere - Thanks, Pip...I'm glad you liked the update and like what Payens brings to the table. It is always nice to hear one of your encouraging comments...so thanks ;D

@Gaston - Thanks for your reply...hopefully there will be more Simlympic stuff to come...if Payens gets the bid then there will be other updates related to the Simlympics (such as construction pics and of course the opening ceremonies). As always, thanks for commenting.

@Muzz - Thanks Muzz, I'm glad you noticed the amount of work I've put into this...hopefully it will Payens off for me (bad joke, indeed $%Grinno$% :D). I too am looking forward to the voting. It should happen on Saturday or so....I am thinking of showing off some of the different Wards of Payens next...we will exhaust Payens before moving on to some of the other cities I've started around Osturland...but I assure you that there are several interesting locations around the island to check out ;) Thanks for commenting!

@Fledder200 - Well I hope I win  ;D Thanks for your support, I'm glad you liked the update. As always, thanks for stopping by!

@Vester - Yeah, the map does not make a distinction, between what is lightrail and what is tunnel, but I can tell you that the lightrail lines are the Parliament and Molay lines and everything else is Tunnel. I tried to get the lines drawn on the map as close to the actual lines as possible, but I know that I've missed a few little turns that occur with the lightrail lines. As for overview shots  $%#Ninj2 :D well since I created that last map, I decided to create another layer on top of it that shows where the different Wards are located around the city. So depending on how the bid goes, I will probably start to show pictures of each Ward/District at a time. So far I've only shown some random shots from around the Government District and all of the First Ward. I will probably start with those again, since some stuff has changed...and then move on with the rest, but in the meantime we'll see if the bid is successful. If it is, then the next several updates will be related to the Simlympics. I realize I'm kindof bad at presenting the city at limited disclosure...but in time we'll see shots of all of Payens completed  ;D and then we'll move on to other cities! As always, thanks for stopping by and commenting, my friend!

WOW!!! Thanks everyone for the congratulations and well wishes! The City of Payens is honored to have the opportunity to host the September Simlympics. With the vote of confidence and the green light, preparations are now underway. Today in Perigord Park, federal and local government officials met to toss a shovel full of dirt where the new Simlympic Stadium will be built as well as officially rename the park...Simlympic Park. Across town, action committees are forming to ensure that the planned preperations are fulfilled for the upcoming Simlympics. Below is some video feed taken during the renaming ceremony. The four officials include....Albert Bontrager (Lord Mayor, City of Payens), Bernard W. Riguad (Prime Minister of Osturland), HRH King William Gardannes (Grand Master Templar), and Lady Linda E. McCroskey (Minister of Finance for Osturland).

Since it is now official, I have to finish getting all the BATs and LOTs ready  ::) :D ;D I plan to post a construction update in the coming weeks followed by the Opening Ceremony Update at the beginning of September. I'm fairly certain that Osturland is the first MD at SC4Devotion to host the Simlympics...as such I would like to encourage those here who have MDs to sign up to participate in the upcoming games...the link is here: Simlympic Sign-ups I think you can probably sign up in the coming weeks...but I wouldn't wait too long! ;) Thanks everybody, Cheers!
