Very nice update! I really like it since I'm doing a historical part in my MD as well, and that includes photoshopping to make the pics look old. Your PSing is quite good I must say. I'm looking forward to the next update!

rooker1 - Thanks for stopping by, Robin, I hope you'll like the PSing this time.
RickD - Those are supposed to be scratches on the pictures ;D I also like the flowers in the AVE2 :P
art128- Uh... What's up with you? This sounds like a hater comment to me... First of all, old photography doesn't always have to be black and white. Colour cameras have been invented in the first decade of the 20th century IIRC. Second, this isn't a rain effect, as I explained to Raphael. Also, if you had read everything in that update, you would be most likely to find answers to your other question.
Highrise99 - Hoping you won't be disappointed again ::)
Jayster - Thanks a lot! I'm still not sure whether this'll become a natural growth MD... We'll see :P
cubby420 - Yeah, you're right, I'm a really slow region developer! I want everything to be as I want it, unfortunately this isn't always possible ;D
marsh - Thanks a bunch for that tutorial, it's quite useful. All pictures in this update have been photoshopped using this way!
travismking - I hope you'll like the editing this time!
Sciurus - Merci, mon ami ;)
x-ten - Спасибо ::) I used a T21 mod which adds flora to the AVE2 median, unfortunately I forgot where I got it :-[ All I can remember is that it was a Japanese site.
Girafe - Thanks, I'm the last pic is my fav, too :P
riiga- I'm glad there's someone who likes the PSing :D Here's coming more!
canyonjumper - Thank you, Jordan, hoping you'll like today's update as well :P

Update 54 - Expansion of Oak Bay

The year is 1972. There has been a raise in the demand for industrial development. That's why the mayor and his advisers have decided to create a small factory district next to the rail line which heads to the port. A small train station is used to transport the workers from their homes to their working places.

A couple of random close-ups

Here's the other station located in the residential district of Oak Bay (you probably know this picture from the Picture Competition :P )

Speaking of residential districts, here are a few overviews of them

A view of the port

A few years later, in 1976, the mayor decided to make a modern sports field for his citizens. It's located in the downtown (if we can call it this way ;D ) next to the church.

The outskirts of Oak Bay with the new sports field still in sight. Those muddy lakes are hated by the people living nearby because of the bad smell and the possible infections which can be caused by mosquitoes and other insects.

On the south edge of the town is located the ring-road which can be seen on the upper side of this mosaic. The newly-built turning lanes make less traffic congestion. The new sports filed, the church and the downtown can be seen as well.

This is all for now, I hope you've enjoyed it. Please, leave a comment if you did :P

Looks like you got the hang of the Vintage Effects link Mash posted! Very nicely done...

I really enjoyed the shoreline detailing done shown in the mosaic... looks like the coastline around here...

Really a great update Ioan! The town has great character and the industrial area is great.

art128

Nice ! I like this update ! The port is nice, and the new developments you made on the city are great. However, I think a bigger sport center would be nice, with two football grounds (the maxis one)..

Looking forward to your next update my friend !
-Arthur.
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

I like that "avenue" version too (from the pic competition).  Is that just eyecandy or is it functional?  And is it your creation or did you find it somewhere else?

Check out Abelfarei!

djvandrake

Yes I very much enjoyed it.  ;D  I like the muted colors and the "feel" of your pictures, very much in the industrial style.  Bravo.

I like the update of the Pirgos 2.0, is that you can return to what it was before. or better.
