I like to make my slopes and road routes, etc more or less realistic. In doing this I find it really handy to know the "lay of the land".. I use the Draw Contours (Cntrl-Shft-C) to show me the lines. For the normal terrains that I build on those are much too far apart.. they are about 120 meters apart.. I'd like to make them more like 25 or 50 meters apart. Is anyone aware of any variable that can be changed to make the spacing for these different than the default ones?

dragonshardz

I don't think so...most of the keyboard shortcuts are hard-coded into the game's executable. It could be possible for the spacing to be changed, but you would definitely have to spend a lot of time trawling the Simcity_x dats, as well as the .exe and other files.

Hmm...contour line spacing might, just might, be contained in the .ini file. I'll have a look if I have spare time later today, as it's 1:12 AM.

Any further information discovered here?

No, I haven't checked the .ini file yet.

Completely forgot about this.

I browsed through both the ini file and several exemplars within SimCity_1.dat when checking those isoclines in Yellowish Altitude lines, and wasn't able to find any property that I could even suspect for controlling these. All-in-all, I'm pretty sure dragonshardz was correct when saying...

I checked though the .ini file as well, and found nothing. So, for now, it seems we're stuck with the spacing. Oh well...C'est la vie.
