Excellent update! The layout is fantastic, though I think that ave x ave intersection in pic 3 could be a candidate for some 'TuLEP'ifcation  $%Grinno$% - that intersection would drive me nuts! The highway fence barrier is perfect; I've never seen it before. Plus your medians...I must have. This update was like a candyshop of stuff I want I guess  ::)

Cyclone1001

Wow, thats really nice. The idea of putting up noise barriers looks like a good one

TiFlo

It gets better with every update.

What soundwalls are those? I don't remember ever seeing them.

bat

Your city looks really fantastic! Very good work on it.
It's great.

Looking forward to more pictures... ;)

Jayster: Thanks. Just keep on trying, you need some time to develop your Simcity-skills, I've been playing now for over 6 years.;) I agree the marczar buildings are totally awsome, but they do not grow as I want them sometimes:(.

Battlecat: Thank you very much. I'm glad you like it. Your welcome, they are really useful and save alot of place also.;)

cubby420: You're right, but I probably won't use TuLEP because of the white texture that doesn't fit with the grey asphalt texture. I tell you this would burn in your eyes haha. :D The noise barrier is from some japanese website, but I have actually no idea what it was called sorry. &mmm What medians do you mean?

TiFlo: Thanks. As I said, I downloaded them from some japanese website, but I have no idea anymore what the name of this site was sorry...

No update today, I'm just asking for some help hehe  ;D.

I'm currently building on some suburbs and the problem is that my CO$$ /CO$$$ demand are very high, but who likes skyscrappers in the suburbs huh? Does anybody know some buildings (just CO$$ and CO$$$) that would fit into a suburban area? It should probably be a "modern" office-building but not a skyscraper. I'd be very grateful for some help;)

rooker1

Hmmmm....what about these.

Continue to look at JBSimio's SHUR project stuff.
I hope that helps a little.

I'm struggeling with exactly the same problem. There are just not enough of those buildings.
The Civic Offices, TiFlo suggested are very good. Simgoober also made some suburban offices: http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=4474
They fit very well in north american suburbs and offer a decent amount of jobs.

Some of ill tonsko's buildings on the STEX might fit the bill. I seem to remember him having lots of low-rise commercial offices in his repertoire. It is very hard to find something in this category; a good batter could make a name for him or herself filling this niche  ;D

kwakelaar

Always a pleasure to visit Arlington Bay, you have such vivid and strong images. Both of your last updates from the rail yards and from the low wealth areas are exceptionally well done.

Surprise, surprise! I got a brandnew region view picture for you.:) I believe it's the first time you can see the city of "New Memphis"  and it's suburbs alltogether.;)

________________________________________________________________________

I also got a real update for you guys.:) Today I show you Rutherford. A new suburb of New Memphis. It's a place for richer people, there are alot of golf courses, a university and a big cemetary.:) Still there is of course some Industry and commercial facilities left in this suburb.;)

First of all an overview picture.

Carrefour is huge in this suburb;)

A busy corner near university and cemetary

the upper part of the university

the biggest golf course of the city

Now some closeup's of the cemetary

2 Closeups of the university campus and it's surroundings.;)

That's where the richest people live. Of course governor Manuel has his home right there also :D ;D

At least a picture of the industrial area.;)

I hope you enjoyed the big update.;)

cubby420

Very accurate suburban layout. The golf course and cemetery are great additions and really add some interest where there may not have been much to begin with. Where did you get that huge Carrefour building?

RickD

Your grid with all the different types of NWM, Roads and streets is massive. I like it.

Does anyone happen to know what the two industrial buildings in the lower right corner of the last pic are? The one with the solar panels on the roof and the L shaped one with the round logo?

The L shaped industrial is Ouellette Electronics from the prolific jasoncw on ST. One of the best batters around in my opinion. I think the other one your looking for is a Simgoober industrial, though I'm not sure which.

TiFlo

The building with the solar panels on the roof is indeed from Simgoober, I believe it's one of his "Fukitol" HT industrial lots.

TiFlo

*I'm sorry for the double post, but since my last post is several days old, hopefully nobody will mind*

ManuelR, are you still looking for suburban offices? If so, I just remembered that ill tonkso has quite a few British mid-rise buildings that perfectly fit in suburbs. You'll only have to take some time to go through his collection.  ;D

marsh

Wow, the developed land in that region is massive! You've certainly put a lot of work into it. Those suburbs look great and so does that golf course! The whole region is very nice and also very green.  :P I also love how you made the inner-city look in your previous update. Very dilapidated and poor. In SC4 it looks great  ;D, although in real life it doesn't. &mmm

,marsh

Hey I don't often comment CJs/MDs [in fact, this may be my first comment on this site period, i'm not sure] but I do enjoy looking through on occasion and you should know that you've done a terrific job with content and arrangement. It really looks great!

Connor

Wonderful update as always

And that region view is amazing, great work  &apls
