Thanks for the Calvi map dobdriver.  Has it been released on the LEX or STEX yet?

Tanks for the Salt Lake map! It looks great and I can't wait to use it!

I'm back.  ::)

This time I would like to request another small map, this time of the area known as the Aubrac region/plateau in southern France. Again just a small map, 3x2 large tiles is the size I had in mind and how I scaled the image to fit (200 x 200 pixels per tile). :)

Thanks in advance!

Hi dobriver!

I was wondering if you could make a map of the Stockholm area if you're not too busy.  There are a couple stockholm maps out there, but, well, they're just not yours.

Your maps are always awesome but I just can't render anything over 2000 square kilometer (or over 60 on any one side), so I was hoping you could do something like the following area (60x32ish) or smaller:

Thanks in advance.  Your work is always top notch.   ;D

dobdriver

G'Day Devotees,

First up my apologies for last weeks effort, I was late, it was late, the stex was slow and I had a plane to catch to work. The maps are now all uploaded to the stex and lex.

What a big week in football! Hang on I've used that joke before.  :D :D

Hold on I didn't think I had that much mail and as always the map-o-matic has been running hot!

Ooooh great pressies Izi, Thanks. You're welcome mate, and keep up that good work with your own creations. Cheers

Welcome Traff and Thanks mate. It's you're lucky week, I have a map of London rattling around in the bottom of the box... Somewhere!  Oh yeah, here it is.

Thanks Eugene, You're welcome. And it's now on the stex.

Thanks also Jbillow, you too are welcome. and as you've found out it too has been released on the stex.

G'day Ethan, how ya going mate? I have a map of Aubrac for you. The area you outlined turned out to be 16x10.5km so I added 1.5km to the east side and made it 4x3 large tiles. Cheers

Thanks Supremec, Hey what terrain mod are you using for Koh Phangan? It looks super. cheers

Onward and upward I say... To the show we must go.

And out of the box this comes courtesy of DerChrischi, Thanks mate.

Oldenburg is 77.824km x 77.824km.

Well actually Oldenburg ain't on the map  :D :D

Up next we have courtesy of BayBoy2011, Thanks mate.

North Bay is 53.248km x 53.248km.

Danger Will Robinson, I seen me some more ice, brrrr.

Closely followed by this courtesy of Traff, Thanks mate.

More ice, How do you guys handle it? London, Ontario that is.

Thanks to Ethan for this next request.

L'Aubrac is 12.228km x 16.384km.

It is just a little tiddler, for those who like their regions small or have very, very, very old computers. The lake is in I-11 and most of the gullies have small creeks.

Moving along this request is courtesy of I'mfromSweden, no no not me I'm from Oz. You're from Sweden, Anyways you know who you are. Thanks mate.

Kerguelen North is 77.824km x 53.248km.

Kerguelen South is 69.632km x 77.824km.

Kerguelen East is 69.632km x 73.728km.

That's a party of three. I did try to make this as one but alas it was not to be.

And on their heels comes this courtesy of Illulissat, Thanks mate

Newcastle-Upon-Tyne is 40.96km x 36.864km.

On the coast of the North Sea, but no ice.

And it's thanks to Portie for this next request.

San Jose is 45.056km x 32.768km.

Was there song...

Hey what's this! Thanks to me old mate drunkapple for this request.

Faroe Islands is 77.824km x 114.688km.

One for those who can.

Some late breaking news just to hand.

Welcome Epicblunder, Thanks mate and sure I can make you a map of Stockholm. No probs at all. Cheers.

And so that brings us to another close.

These maps are wonderfull !  &apls

I wonder how can you create such details in your map, as I don't master the 16bit technology ! It makes me avoid areas with small streams and harbors...  ()sad()

Keep up the VERY good job.

By the time I get to Phoenix, she'll be rising...
The rendered image is the original I made at 60x60 and then realised I hadn't included all the points of interest asked for. The map actually goes 12km further north and 28km further east as shown in the top down view.

Dobs, if you want, you can use my Phoenix, Arizona render. It's the complete map.

G'Day Devotees,

Well this week I had a bit of a rest from making maps, sort of. I have just a small show today but all requests are in the pot and bubbling away in some sort of dis-repair.

Thanks Supremec, Yes I mostly use Italia also. A little bit hacked around though to keep that pesky snow off the mountains.  ;)

Hey no probs Epic.

Cool Kergelen, are you perhaps going to build on your islands  :D

Thanks Izi, The small detail is still doable with 8bits, the 16bits are really only controlling the height of the terrain. Keep at it mate.

Thank you Willy, it now takes pride of place in the Phoenix show, Beautiful.  &apls

And just a small show it is today,

First out is a request from some time ago courtesy of Argyle, Thanks mate.

Tri-Cities is 65.536km x 65.536km.

I pushed the water a little harder to see how they'd bear up.

Next along is courtesy of a request by Etorsen, Thanks old mate.

Wenatchee is 57.344km x 69.632km

I discovered city borders cost quite a lot in file size so I'm doing away with them.

And last out of the bag today is courtesy of chrisrs95, Thanks mate.

Cumberland is 49.152km x 53.248km.

On the Potomac.

That brings us to the end of another show.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Ah ! There's still hope for me then !  :'(

Maybe you could call the map: Bremerhaven
Its right in the middle of it.

You have done some great maps.  &apls

Can one do a request here ?

Maybe Blekinge ?

dobdriver

G'Day Devotees,

Well another bit of a slouchy week unfortunately, The map-o-matic's hot but the mapper just seems bothered. Any how time will pass. It always does for some reason.

G'Day Izi, Thanks mate.
Of course there is still hope, there is always Hope where one finds Faith and Charity. ;<)

G'Day Vester, Thanks mate.
I could re-name it but it's full title is "On the Coast Between Oldenburg and Hamburg" and of course everybody is free to name it as they wish.

I can certainly make your map no trouble, you do have 64bit windows though? As it will come in at 114.688km x 57.344km. This is a bit tough for mapper on a 32bit system.

To the show, to the show, to the show.

And in first posi this week is courtesy of a request from me old mate Paulo, Thanks mate.

Porto Alegre is 28.672km x 53.248km.

A little bit of Brasilian sunshine.

Next we have a request courtesy of Cmdp123789, Thanks mate.

Córdoba is 36.864km x 36.864km.

Do I think it snows there, probably not.

Followed by a request courtesy of Denouz, Thanks mate.

Barrow is 45.056km x 45.056km.

There was icebergs I'm sure!

The last couple are courtesy of that codger drunkapple again, he's been getting a few in lately.

Threadbo is 57.344km x 57.344km.

Merimbula is 57.344km x 57.344km.

I made these as test pieces for a new technique I'm developing. They look to work out just fine.

And so another show is over.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Cheers

Awesome work once again, dobs! An avid fan of Big Maps, I think I got just about all of your work on my PC - some very great maps among them.

I'm afraid, however, that I'll have to make a request. If you've got the time, could you one day do my hometown area of Antwerp, Belgium? I had something like this in mind:

Of course that's rather big, so you can reduce the size if you think it's necessary - although I'd like it big.  :)

That would be awesome.

Cheers,
Willy

G'day dob!

All the fantastic work done over here! I am always amazed at the details and finishes of the map you created. Hope you are not too busy to fit in a new request. Please, can you make a map of my hometown, the city of Tainan in Taiwan?
The region is illustrated in the image below. It should be around 45x45km in size and rotated 12 degrees counterclockwise to match the road grid of the city centre...
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/821/tainant.jpg

Also just some suggestions... It would be nice if we can see some more beautiful regional Aussie cities, like the Central Coast of NSW including the urban area around Brisbane water and the beautiful Hawkesbury River. Albury-Wodonga region including lake Hume is another favorite of mine.  ;D

Hey dobdriver,

So many great maps.  I have a request that may not even be possible to do.  I would like a map of North Male' Atoll in the Maldives.  If you have any questions or don't think it is possible let me know.

Thanks.

dobdriver

G'Day Devotees,

Well it's showtime!

I have been getting back in the swing of things and although there are not too many some have been quite intricate. Plus I have been working with Izi a little.

G'Day Willy, Thanks mate, That won't be a problem I think I can shoe horn Antwerp into something

G'Day Subfly09, Welcome and thanks also. I'm always too busy but never enough to not accept new requests. Tainan won't be a problem. Yes some new TD maps will be coming shortly as I have just received some Aussie 1 second dem, rarer than rocking horse kaka too. All patched so no holes etc. courtesy of the gumbyment. Cost real semolians but did come on an external hdd.

G'Day Eugene Thanks mate, How did Calvi turn out? Any pics mate? I had a quick bo peep at Male And that won't be a problem at all.

As mentioned somewhere else.
It's showtime!

And dredged from the darkness of the ol' map box comes this courtesy of Etorsen, Thanks old mate.

Arkhangel'sk is 45.056km x 49.152km.

It gets mighty chilly around these parts.

Next along is a request courtesy of Art128, Thanks Arthur.

Hiroshima is 28.672km x 24.576km.

Hiroshima was rotated 32 degrees ccw and aligns the river north/south.

I also made an un-aligned version for the stex.

Hiroshima is 49.152km x 40.96km.

And a little bit bigger ;<)

The request following is courtesy of Epicblunder, Thanks mate.

Stockholm is 61.44km x 32.768km.

I think there'd be plenty of bridge building opportunities here.

And the final request for today is courtesy of DaTSchikinhed, thanks mate.

Denton County is 53.248km x 49.152km.

Deep in the heart of Texas.

That I'm afraid is your lot for today.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Cheers
