Decided to share the three maps I've made for quads in my region. The first quad map took me a while (lots of trial and error), but the other two came together a bit faster. I then put together a Region Overview map to which each of the three quads' maps is linked (and I can add more as I make them). The region overview map is 1280x1792, and comprised of 256x256 tiles, 5 wide by 7 high. The quad maps are linked to the completed tiles. Each quad's image is 2048x2304. Click the button below to be taken to the Region Overview map page (hosted externally). I'll post here and in my MD when updates to the region map and individual quad maps are posted!

Enjoy!

Great map variation everyone!

I've been messing around on Inkscape...started off wanting to do a basic road map, then onto a little bit of terrain...then onto urban build up. This is what I ended up with...

The map area represents a large city tile. I need more practice, but the overall result isn't that bad...I hope!

Wow, I love all the map variation. Your maps are gorgeous. Here's a map from my Monument journal.

The unshaded area is one large tile.

Looking good, Geoff!

Here's my latest map from Nyhaven, also available in my MD:

Orange lines are major arterial roads, black lines are railroads (including the highlighted one), red-and-blue lines are highways, and the grey area is the extent of development in the city.

Feel brand new. Be inspired.

Here is a map showing the small town of Spetz located in the Österköping region.

The map is in Swedish. However, I've added a (extensive) translation below.

Translation (to English) for non-swedes:

g. is short for gatan - street
v. is short for vägen - road

    * Större väg - Road
    * Mindre väg - Street
    * Motorväg - Highway/Freeway/Motorway
    * Skog - Forest
    * Park - Park
    * Mark - Ground
    * Vattendrag - Lake, Sea, Stream, River, etc.
    * Tätbebyggt område - Urban Area
    * Riksväg - State Road
    * Motorväg - Numbered Highway/Freeway/Motorway
    * Länsväg - County Road

Wow, when the title said maps, I was thinking of the game maps, not transportation maps.  Very interesting and some really great looking maps.  Nice job everyone :thumbsup:

wow ! that's a fantastic map there my friend !!
he's is my last one, I will enlarge it as I advance the tile. It's approximately a third of the size of the tile.

a big thanks to Geoff who inspired me to create my own road map ! Thanks a million my friend !

Note - sorry for the "pixelisasion" I've done it in photoshop and not Illustrator..  &mmm

Beautiful metro system plan, 6underground  :thumbsup:
And ARthur, your map is nice too  ;)
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

Thank you very much guys:

If you click the image below for a larger version, you can see part of my city centre area. The map is 100% accurate to ingame, and covers 2 medium tiles and 2 small tiles (i am working on the missing lower left, before expanding the map). If you pay some attention to the underground map i posted recently, you'll see several stations on the map (Aneurin Court, Veneer Road, Kinightsbridge, etc)

Great work, Sixu! I really like that color scheme.

It's certainly worth seeing full-size. I'm actually British and this is my first attempt at an American city so hopefuly someone can tell me if I've done a realistic job.

Done in the style of Google Maps it took 9 hours to complete to this level and since I haven't finished the city I haven't yet finished the map.

Gaston

gingerblokey,
    Not bad at all.    Looks very "American".    The only thing I would add is a couple of streets cutting through the city at some different angle.   Most US cities have some street , road , avenue or highway that messes up the entire grid system.   LOL

gingerblokey- very impressive work  :thumbsup: i can't believe how realistic it looks i don't think you can get any more realistic as a typical american city. fantastic job!

gingerblokey

That's the subway map for the above city.

Great map of your transit system gingerblokey  :thumbsup:
I only doubt if the non free transfer stations would work in real life. It seems that you can easily transfer for free if you take a few more stations ;)

Andreas

There's one slight mistake in your map - the "D" in the circle next to Sheridan Place/11th Street should be an "E". :)

Very nice maps Gingerblokey. I think, however that you spelled Barack Obama wrong on your highway. Otherwise, that roadmap was AMAZING and the train line map was so realistic, could've been from a real city.
