Yes, I'm going to try for the random prop bit. I'm not the best at modding, so I'll probably need help. :P

I recall Barby knows a good bit about random props, and I've played with it before as well, though it's been awhile.  I'm glad to see this happening, and if I can help in any way, I'll be around.

Oh, I can't wait to see the results....
If there is one important thing needed to make a kind of quasi realistic resemblance to my country here, I need lots of pastures with Chris' fences (got them today!) and sheep, cows, pigs and their housing. Haarlemmergold made a farm with a nice "ligboxenstal" we call it in Dutch. Don't know the english word for it.
Most of our farmland is grass.

metal building, or just "barn" would work

I don't know dutch but that's what comes up when I do a google image search.

is this it:

War Kittens !?

So, I finally got the Mayor Mode ploppable cows to work. ;D  I'll add the remaining cow models and do one for the pigs and sheep, too.  Monkeys are still on hold. :D  Cheers!

NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

Chrisadams3997

Looks great, are you going to get some of the rotated models into it as well?  We can call it FAC, lol.

jestarr

Thanks all!  I'm glad you like them.

chris:  That's my plan.  The only thing I'm not sure of, is whether the footprint, being different, will make any difference or not.  Hopefully, not! :D  One thing I've found is that, unlike trees, clicking and dragging only gives one version of the model.  I've had to drag a few, then stop, and drag another few, to get a different cow. &mmm

Chrisadams3997

I can help you with that perhaps.  I've had a lot of experience in that kind of thing lately.  When you've got the models all added, send me the files and I can take a look at tweaking some of the params.  Just use the email in my profile.

Sheep!

It was my old request - look here
There were a few really innovative attempts to introduce sheep to SC4 - I especially like TTC's and Chris' proposittions  :) The sheep problem wasn't solved but all this experience was very nice!

Jestarr, I'm a big fan of your creations, although I didn't comment them yet - maybe I simply hadn't anything wise to say?  :D
One question about ploppable animals: Which textures - or maybe a transparent base?

Chrisadams:  Thanks, I'll keep you posted as to progress. ;)

Ennedi:  Actually, there's no lotting involved with the ploppables.  They work just like Mayor Mode trees and Jeronij's rocks.  So, no textures. ;D

Pat:  Thanks, I'm glad you like them. :)

So, the pigs are done and the cows almost are.  Next is making the sheep ploppable. ;D  Cheers!

hi jestarr,
ive been editing some of soulstealers and my own industrial port lots and was wondering if you had an empty intermodal trailer/semi truck combo hidden around somewhere? i know you have the loaded intermodal trailer/truck and the empty intermodal trailers but no empty intermodal trailer/truck. i tried putting a truck in front of the trailers but overlapping props never turn out right. is there a way i can combine the 2 into a new prop? or would it be difficult for you to do?  any help would be great, thanks!

jestarr

jmdude1:  Let me peruse my backup disks.  Those meshes are on one of them.  It won't take too long once I find them.  Cheers!

jmdude1

thanks a bunch, much appreciated!!

metal building, or just "barn" would work

I don't know dutch but that's what comes up when I do a google image search.

is this it:

Yes, that is a quite usual farm in our country. Of course there are many types: this one probably houses cows. Chickenfarms, pigfarms etc have different barns, but making all of the details correct would be an enormous task: Every region in the Netherlands has its own different kind of traditional farm houses. Haarlemmergold and Tag_one made some useabe ones. These houses could be combined with the barns and sheds you see on this picture.
If I only had time to work on them.... I could, of course, quit playing the game and start lotting. &idea

For more pictures: you could look up the words "Boerderij" (farm) and "Luchtfoto" (aerial shot) in the netherlands section of Google image. I found too many to show here.

jestarr

I'm liking that farm, more and more, everytime I see it.  Maybe I'll BAT one that's similar. ;D  On another note, I've uploaded a couple of intermodal truck props (no loads), rendered in the usual 6 orientations, to the LEX.  Cheers!

jmdude1

thanks for taking the time jestarr, im glad you could help me out! i will be editing lots asap.
