Busy times in downtown Vancouver!  Nice job with those canals, the new texture looks excellent!

Ethan (ecoba): Thank you Ethan! I think this texture suits the city more.

kimcar: Thank you very much!

djvandrake: Thanks, DJ!

Battlecat: Thank you! And yes, it was pretty busy, but it was getting there that was the hard part ;D

I finished replacing the canals, and reworked the shoreline a bit. I also added a FLuP tunnel to a neighbouring tile which I think I'll start working on when I finish Grantview.

14-01
Havva mosaic, just because I felt like making one, and because I don't recall showing one here yet.

14-02
Almost finished over here. You can see I swapped out the old SAM texture for this cobblestone one.

14-03
And this is the University of Northern Cascadia (UNC). I left the SAM texture here alone, as it fit in with the Jon's (JBSimio) excellent campus buildings.

And to all you lurkers , I know you're there, so leave a comment ;D

Cyclone1001

Very nice! It all looks good, now you just need an overly-huge palace :P

Battlecat

Fantastic!  Those new textures are great.  How are you modifying them?

The crosswalks at the road crossing the canal are a great touch as well!

puresim

I'd live there! The crossing is a very nice touch if it's one of yours.

Out of curiosity, are many of the lots in the last update customized?

antimonycat

I'd like to live in one of those canalside houses!  Good job on the customized elements too.

BuildingUp

I'd like to purchase one of those homes. I'd love to be able to stand at that bridge and watch the water. Very good!  &apls

Cyclone1001: Thanks! That palace just might go in after the Competition is over ;D the LE

Battlecat: Thank you! Those canals are actually by SimGoober, found here. I really do like those crosswalks, I might just have to go in the LE and change the sidewalk texture though.

puresim: Thanks! The crossing is not mine, it's part of a set released by Swamper77 [link]. I don't customize too many lots ATM, as I'm focused on my plaza                         the Competition, but in the future (March) I will probably start again.

antimonycat: Thanks! Which house did you want ;D

BuildingUp: You can have one too!

Time for today's progress report! Finished up two areas today; the commercial strip I mentioned last time, and a reworked residential area.

7-01
Another shot of the University of Northern Cascadia.

7-02
The reworked park and FLuP tunnel

7-03
The aforementioned residential area. It's actually more of mix ;D The diagonal fillers are a big part of this area.

7-04
And to end, a shot of a pedestrian bridge across the canal.

Very nice!  I really like how your university turned out, and those canals are great!

Battlecat

Well very cool, I didn't realize there was a fresh version of those canals!  Great job on this city, it's really looking fantastic!

Scott (scott1964): Thanks!

djvandrake: Thank you very much!

Battlecat: Thanks, Battlecat!

Tomas (Tomas Neto): Thanks alot!

Alright, for all intents and purposes, Grantview is finished! I've just got to take the necessary pictures and post them in my Entry Thread. I've got two mosaics today, one detailing the town centre and the other the shoreline.

16-01
I threw the crosswalks into the LE, and changed the sidewalks, so now they almost match. I really have to get rid of that TP'd tree. Is there a mod for that? I also DL'd Battlecat's excellent cul-de-sac mod, which makes the street ends look more like Canadian cul-de-sacs.

16-02
There, the new canals in all their shoreline glory ;D. Also, the BSC's awesome parks used as a riverfront park. Is there a way for FLuPs to continue on another tile? No, let me rephrase that: Do FLuP neighbour connections work?

16-03
Here's the final version of the plaza. There are more people, but they only show up on zoom 5. I added garbage cans and covered tables.

16-02
And here's the overview

If there's any rules I've overlooked, or anything you think should be added, let me know before March 1st, so that I have the time to add/change anything and take the photos. Thanks again for all your feedback ;D

The mansion with the red brick around it is so something I would love to live in. The whole mosaic is breathtaking! I also really adore that small town feel in the first one.

Lots of great looking pictures, and your plaza is a nice piece of work. There is a good mix of buildings from different makers, giving your city quite a natural feel.

Yan077

It looks really nice, great mosaics  !

kimcar

&apls &apls Great work Jordan . I like what you did with the canal and great touch of realism too

scott1964

Good job.  :) Couple of questions. What is FLUP and where do you get it. And I notice some accessories on the sides of your roads like a little fence with the light poles.  :D

ecoba

It looks good, Jordan. Except, mosaics aren't allowed. And all of your pictures have to show the cathedral or your other church.

Hope you can fix it, because March One will come up soon. Anyway, Grantview turned out to be an excellent little town.
