hope you all like it, and happy farming :D

That's a very interesting layout. I like it.

You should turn the grid off though. Makes for much better pictures.

luker91:  Those farms are amazing!  I don't see any of odd shapes like that in Texas (of course, maybe I don't look hard enough...).  But yours look so good!  I love that little town squeezed between the freeway and the shoreline.  And how every house has a path leading to the road.  And the forest.  And the random run of power lines.  Awesome work you've done!

jaronamo70:  I like your little town!  It feels like home...except the little town I'm from didn't have a freeway running that close to it.  Or even a four-lane highway.  But it did have a lake!  Anyways, thanks for the fine example of Main Street, USA!

Giligone

Very cool! seeing the farms develop like that is a cool idea! How'd you do it?

wouanagaine

thx everyone

Making the above animations was quite simple

I just lay down everything in pause, then run the game in full speed, taking some screen shot from time to time ( basically everytime a new farm grows ).
I paused the game when I have to rezone some new farms,

For the last pic (the one with traffic, I just click the central frieght station and take the pic )

Then I use SWFTools to make the flash animation, and thx to Jeroni this site allow Flash integration :)

What I'd like to showcase here is not the farms as much as Cycledogs tree mods. This one is the Missouri Breaks terrain with the Missouri tree controller. The controller can plant wooded areas in interesting shapes. I like to zone the farms around the trees. It is a slow way to play but can be rewarding at times.

jmyers: Wow!  That reminds me so much of home (South Texas), the way the road winds through the small towns and the farms are visible for miles around.  Also, building the farms around the trees makes them look really realistic.  All the time, when I'm going to the next small town over, there'll be a random clump of trees (because there's no more prairie...).  I also like how your farms are not total grids, makes for a more interesting view.  A very great job you've done!

Fantastic stuff guys!

Wouanagaine, although you may find it simple to make such a great animated presentation, we mortals can only look in awe at your feats.

jmyers:very nice stuff. nice little town and I like the idea of those small patcehs of forrest here and there. good work.

Jmyers : I adore your farming regions. I like that there is no griddy layout at all - very nice. The trees between the farm make it, well, Perfect (with a capital P!) &dance

wonderful rural area, jmyers2043!

thundercrack83

Great job, jmyers2043! I like how you've separated the farms with forested areas and took the time to keep them from all being square.

Well, here's a few examples of a bit of my rural work:
