Hello dear SC4 Devotion members,
Your outstanding behaviour in this site is allowing me to BAT again, so I want to say you THANKS for being such a great community  ¡¡¡
And to demonstrate how grateful I am , I decided to BAT a new series of Canals, I know, I know, there are some already... ::) , which are designed to fit better in template/warm regions. I will call this one Mediterranean Urban Residential Canals.
This is the initial design for the main straight piece. It takes 1x3 tiles. Some changes are being done after these pics, but they are not greatly noticeable in the final render.
And now, some ingame pics after the first render.
I have decided to remove the water flora and make the water less transparent. Anyway, in the game these details are mostly lost &mmm .
I would appreciate your suggestions to improve this one, before I start to make the other pieces. I am opened to other textures, so feel free to post yours if you want to do so.
Wow, those look good, jeronij! They remind me of the washes and aqueducts of desert cities in the western US (like in Las Vegas...I had to walk across a deep wash every day to get to school, and it didn't look anywhere near that nice). But what exactly happens as it meets that street? Does it go under?
whaaaaaa those look amazing!!!! what can i say?? i love them!!!!
altough i'm not a big fan of the palm tree...but that is maybe becouse i don't like palm trees in general ( in c4), but if you are going to have a warm region city..then this is it!!!
This looks amazing. I can see a great use for this. Very unique in the style.
And thank you for such a great place a where we all can become such a great community.
&apls
Jeronij the look really good except the water looks awfully dirty to me, when I think of 'Mediterranean' light blue water comes to my mind - is that just me?
those look awesome jeronij, but to actually recreate a western us style canal wash, is it possible to make a seperate set without palm trees?. also, maybe instead of the walls, how bout a chain link fence? and who knows maybe a puddle here and there?-just a suggestion, not to be damning criticsm. love them
Jeronij,
I first want to say this is a fantastic canal. Unlike the rest of the posters, they remind me more of Ft. Lauderdale Florida than the western US, but then I have never been out there. LOL
A couple of things I would suggest you look at (IMHO): &idea
- I agree with Fledder200 in that I am not a huge palm tree fan. That being said; I do like the particular ones you chose.
- I love the look of the water but I think it need to be a bit deeper looking.
- The aquatic plants could be a bit darker in color. More like the slimy stuff that grows along the edges of canals.
- The fences are great. They could be just a tiny bit taller / more pronounced. They seem to get lost.
- You might look at using your fantastic rural walls (warm) in the creation of the "bridges" for this.
These of course are just suggestions. And I am embarrassed &ops to even hint that there might be even the slightest flaw in your fabulous creation. I love it and would jump at the chance to use it in one of my cities. ;D
---Gaston
awesome work this really is fantastic work &apls
Hello and thanks to all for the comments and suggestions
I am taking notes..... ;)
I will make some changes and post some pics asap. Your feedback is what makes the difference ( even if I dont plan to apply all of your suggestions $%Grinno$% )
Masochist, this is the main straight piece, and the ingame pics are a test. Of course, once I have the textures and overall look I want , I will start making more pieces ;)
Oh dear mother of god (didnt want to curse around, so...) this looks sooo fanthastic! &apls Excelent work! I guess I will definetly need to start and play with mediterranean things just so that will have a chance to use this baby of yours.
Wow Jeroni, those look amazing!
BTW, seems like you're using BAT4max, if so, have you rendered them with the catmull-rom antialiasing? they look a bit fuzzy, but could be just the far zoom.
Hello and thanks again,
it seems it will take some time/work to finish these ::)
DM, yes, I noticed a different render quality this time, probably because I clicked somewhere involuntarily :-[ .... I will have to check that. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
Hi jeronij ,
I'm highly interested by this , that recalls me so much the river "Têt" in Perpignan the nearest town from my home . Here a small picture ....
My only suggestions are about the water texture ( Actually it looks like a dry canal even if you can see that the color on RL picture is the same than your) , and about palm trees ... I 'm just hoping they'll be not included in the model but as props ... You know I can't resist to modify anything with LE .... the problem with them is that they quickly look repetitive ...$%Grinno$%
I hope to make constuctive criticisms cause I really want to use this in future ! &apls
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg237.imageshack.us%2Fimg237%2F6399%2Fttfm6.jpg&hash=fd1bcf32ea01569ecc6553107d61f7c01cdcc133)
These canals are looking beautiful!
(but one question are these taxi or bus-places from your streetside mod? {prefer to the last picture near the canals})
You know...in that picture that Badsim posted there are flowerbeds. Would you be willing to try that instead of the palm trees? I am not a fan of palm trees in SC4 either. :)
Joel
OK, I have made some changes, and I have tried with three different water textures. I please you to tell me which one do you like the best ;)
I plan to make some variations from the main piece, with different flora, and put them into a family to give variety to the lomg straight lines. Once we decide which water texture to use, I will start to make some more pieces ;D
EDIT: bat, yes ;)
I vote for the blueish one, but you could do 2 versions just as you did with the rural walls set. Anyway, great work on this. I'm sure it will turn out great.
I like the blue one, however the brown one is what it looks like here in Arizona! :D
&apls
is it possible to match the water colour to either PEGs or SGs canals?
Well Jeronij,
Since you asked... ;D
I think they are all good but a bit too opaque. They should be a slight bit more transparent. The brown is way too "muddy" looking for my tastes. The "greenish" one looks very artificial looking to me. It doesn't look natural at all. Of the three the blue one looks the best but, I think it is still a bit too blue and not transparent enough. Remember you asked. LOL
One suggestion for these would be to include diagonal pieces. I am having a hard time right now with SG's canals not having diagonal stuff.
---Gaston
The blue ... with the same comment than Gaston ...
The blue one looks best by far. Although I will agree with Badsim on Gaston's comment.
Hm, I must say that I like blue one more than other two, but green one looks good also. &apls
Awesome work Jeronij... Now I see why you tell me you cant do everything... LOL
I like the green and blue textures personally, the brown one isnt the best IMO.
I like the more green one (don't listen to anybody else! ;D )
Actually, i like the original canals, the first picture...it had a very Hanging Gardens of Babylon feel. I think you should release all three canals though, as i could find uses for each (i like the brown one, i would use that in my ruined area of the city)
el agua azul es muy bonito! lol. felt like putting some of my spanish 1 skills to the test.
i like the blue one. i think it would be cool to have two different variations, one with a low water level like the originals and one with a high water level like the new ones you've shown us. great work as always jeronij!
i like them all!
I want to second everyone's ideas about making them match SG's or PEG's kits
OK, I think the blue will be the first colour to use. For the moment, I am still trying to make a definitive water texture, and looking for a way to let the player see some transparency across the water. Trying to make it more realistic at the end ;)
Some work in progress..
Instead 1x3 lot pieces, I will cut it into 1x1 pieces, like the other existing canals. Btw, connection with other canal sets is under study at the moment ;) ,
After some precious BSC feedback, the water texture went into this....
QuoteOk, I have to admit that I learnt quite a lot today about the materials in the GMAX. I found sound nice tutorials via Google, and after some hours I went to this.
Unfortunately, the game point of view does not allow to see most of the details, and the clouds look repetitive, it does not matter what I do. I have even created a custom seamless texture for them, but they look repetitive anyway.
Here is the thing with advanced transparency ( ::) ) and clouds reflections, from the SC4 points of view.
And now, for your astonishment, how the thing looks like in the GMAX.
Now the same only with transparency.
So, I think the water is quite realistic now, but the BAT render will loose all that detail. I am sure the same will happen to simfox.
Also the more detail we add ( clouds), the more repetitive the water looks like.
Your feedback please .... ;)
In the SC view, I like the canals with the clouds reflecting in the water, but in love the way the light is reflecting in the water on the last picture.
That is awesome work there Jeronij!! I love it.... Keep up the awesome work and this will definately be in plugins folder wehn it is released!
Wonderful textures and great progress! &apls
Perfect water texture . &apls ...
That looks 100 times better. I love it. Great work here.
&apls
great progress, the water textures are really good
great work it's very nice &apls
Thanks to all for the nice comments
Unfortunatly all this nice water detail is lost in the final game render.... &mmm
Anyway some progress...
QuoteOK, I have changed the fence's concrete to a darker one. I hope this is better.
I rendered the"clouds" version.It looks like this.
I dont like it. The clouds reflection looks like anything but clouds.
I rendered the "no clouds" version. I look like this.
Neither I like it. Too dark.
I made the material a bit lighter, and I think this can be the final water texture for this set.
I have started to make some additional pieces.
I hope you like the final decision ;D
I like the final decision. And that curve looks perfect!
Yeah i agree the water texture is excellent now.
the final decision looks very nice. i don't use the canal sets much bt i allready have some cool ideas for these. can't wait to see more progress!
wow, the curve section blends seamlessly with the rest. personally, i think they are perfect...great work once again &apls &apls
Will there be no (non-grass) vegetation between the wall and the water? Or did 'we' (group speak) decide against it. This look just beautiful, by-the-way.
Joel
Very nice :) I like the curve as well...buildings look so nice rendered, till their details lost in the game, such a shame....
Anyways, im wondering about the canals on the left..the ones that have no water in them...i think you should release those, and the brown coloured water in a pack, just basic peices, for CJ/MDers, I know myself, id LOVE those (ooh throw the original ones in there too?) Im not sure if thats creating a million more tons of work for you, I just wanna let you know that theres at least one person out there who likes the other versions of the canal as well ;)
(BTW good for you for trying a canal project! Seems simple till you try it eh!? LOL)
Jeronij,
The water texture and color seem really good. There is just enough transparency. It looks like there should be fish swimming and pelicans landing on it. ;D The curved wall is fantastic. It blends seemlessly. I still would like to see diagonal pieces for this set. ;) Transitions to other sets would be nice but I have always wanted to see a set of transitions for everyone's sets. (SG's, PEG's & Oppie's and now your's too ::) ) That would be a great future project I suppose.
Gaston , once again , said exactely that I've had to say ... ;D
I'm looking this project growing with impatience now , and I congratulate you for this participative BAT thread .... :D
Please tell me, how did you make those small flowers and palm trees? I'm trying to build some for weeks, but the only thing I got is this one:
Not very high quality work...
Thanks for the nice feedback
Some work in progress... one of the corner pieces....

More to come soon ;)
FromTheAshes , check this site (http://www.onyxtree.com/), and btw, your models do not look that bad
Wow excellent work! I cant wait for these to come out! &apls &apls &apls
I've been missing this thread &mmm Excelent job Jer, it looks wonderful so far. That corner piece can make a nice looking well/pozo ;)
Very nice Jeronij. The transperancy is perfect. The curve is wonderful. It has a a really nice flow about it. I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of the pieces.
---Gaston
Nice, nice, nice! These are going to be wonderful!
Joel
Great WIP, jeronij. When will theese canals be released?
BTW: Is there a trial version of the treestorm-plugin? I didn't find it... 500$ is not that cheap....
Great progress! The corner pieces are looking wonderful!
Excellent JRJ , and FromTheAshes I don't agree with you about your work ; I have many flora /tree props which doesn't look that good ...
&apls &apls Sorry if i post lately, i just saw this thread . I don't know what you eat in th morning but it,s very good for your brain . You have always a great imagination for do great work like this one . Itm,a a chance to have great batter like you . Keep it up.

Thank you!!! I'm allways criticize my work, don't ask me why...
i love them!, great update to these &apls and the transparency is perfect,
Woah, I've got to say taht I think the water is a bit too dark for such a warm region. It should have a bit more opacy. Ok well thats my imput, otherwise lookin very nice
Hello again and thanks for the feedback.
I had to redo the whole thing due to some mistakes...anyway it seems now everything is working. I have the very basic working set, which included four pieces. Straight, Inner corner, Outer corner and water filler.

As soon as posible ;)
once again...a master at work. thank you :)

Looking Good!!!!!!
Looking awesome! Could you post a picture of the way the lods are on the model? (Are they underground with it?)
Jeronij,
Absolutely wonderful. I really love it. I wish I had the talent to do such incredible things. I am in awe.
:o
---Gaston
Hello and thanks to all for the comments
toxicpiano, no,the final LODs are almost simple planes. No underground LODding for this set. Anyway, I changed the design, so the water is a very close to the terrain level.
I love them J! ;D
Don't forget some nice, possibly modern bridges ;D
Very nice! I like how you managed to get a bit of translucence with the water (a vast improvement over the previous sludge-like samples), which is quite difficult to do with canals (I've tried, so I know!).
I was also wondering if there would be a set without an outside fence, as the fencing looks slightly distracting, right next to the earthy brown walls, and grassy slope. Unless those are props, then forget I ever said that. :P
Keep up the good work!
In play ...

LOL Okay so I know the answer to my post in the "Show us your canals" thread. LOL
---Gaston
Very nice looking test pond Colyn
I also like the connectors you used. I am designing a connector which is 1x2 tiles, but this gave an idea to make a smaller one as well.
Now back to BAT... ;)
This transition will be released and it has a bonus ... it generates some power too.
Excellent
In the meantime, I have started a new expercience with the particles system. I am for from being satisfied, but this is how my idea about an universal connector starts to look like....
Unfortunately, many details will be lost after the final render, and many things have to be fixed, but I hope you get the idea ;)
Ok this will work with the 2 wide canals ... the problem comes with the 1 tile wide canals and ditches ... what we will need is something like the sloped end you did but 1 tile wide and with some small corner remnants that can connect to the walls ... what I did with that cascade is to lay your one tile prop on the end and then place rocks over the wall part and added the spray animation. It works to get into a POND ... what we have to figure out is a piece that can connect to the ditches or 1x wide canals and then open up to a two wide JRJ Canal piece.
Some examples of something else I did ... obviously needs more tweaking of the props etc. but I wanted to see the concept.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nelspruitlink.co.za%2FSC4Bucket%2FSHZ%2520Sabenza-00e.jpg&hash=5b883f22f96412653f1d81d961e3cba15081002b)

This is a really nice concept as well  .
I understand about a "small to big" connector, and I can do one using the concept I showed before. I go back to bat ;)
Suddenly an idea comes to my mind....some sort of semi-transparent waterfall water, which could be used as a prop ?¿. It should be feasible with the MAX....writing it down for the to-do list... ;D
Great using with the canals, colyn! Great progress, jeronij! &apls
Well , how to say that ... it's so intimidating to criticize a Legend .... $%Grinno$%
Just looking back to the fist picture ...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fileden.com%2Ffiles%2F2006%2F9%2F1%2F198038%2FJRJ_UC_03.jpg&hash=bb732c657e03e69fadf2314880e8416e9693539e)
... I find it more striking ... great work now , for sure , but something becoming step by step closer to already existing canal sets .
So , I have a doubt ... ()what()
Well, compatibility with other existing canals has been requested, so I am somehow limited when designing the final lots.
Anyway I reserve some surprises yet, which hopefully will make this set unique ;)
And I dont understand your post as a criticism. It is simply that you liked the first more.
So, how did you get the water to look like that effectively?
wow jeronji what awsome and very stunning work im soooooooo loving it. - pat
WOW! Looking great! &apls
Awesome work.
Great work! this is wonderful! &apls
Ok, some more pieces, this time are suposed to be universal connectors to other canal systems, and also start pieces for this set.

DT, what water are you talking about?. I am making several experiments with the water for these canals. I am using 3DMax this time.
Ahh, 3DSMAX. That should explain it, then. Nevermind. Looking awesome, though!
&apls im liking it as well - pat
Thanks for the feedback all
So, I think I am finished with the first basic set.

What do you think ?¿ Not all the connections are perfect, and somehow I can not find Oppies set in my HD....but I dont think it looks that bad...your feedback please ;)
&apls but now I need to think of ways to make these work for me ... %confuso ... so much beauty ... I will have to think hard.
Okay...THAT is cool! I love the transitions!
Joel
Wowzer! You seem to have hit the nail on the head Jeronij!
Jeronij,
Excellent work. I like the way the water seems to flow into your canals from all the other sources. The SG narrow canal transition does need a bit of tweeking. But, you already mentioned that.
The only other thing I would venture a comment on; is the color / texture of the grass alongside your canals. It seems a bit to vibrant. In my opinion it seems to detract from the overall look of the canals. I would still be very happy to have these canals in my cities. ;D
I know that seems a bit nit-picky but I thought I'd mention it and see if anyone else thinks that as well. It may very well be my monitor that makes it stand out a bit too strongly. I have an old monitor and sometimes it doesn't show some colors well.
Hmm I wonder what the RPK stuff would look like in conjunction with your canals? &Thk/(
I think I mentioned another time, I hope to see diagonal pieces for you set sometime in the near future as well.
I am truely impressed with what you have created. My above comments are only ment as feedback. They are not to be taken as any sort of criticism in any way. &ops You are a miracle worker in my opinion. I would not even know where to start a project like this. &idea Thank you so much for letting us even give you imput on this great project.
---Gaston
that blue water looks so beautiful I wish I could jump into it
I like your drain things to connect to other canals. it looks great with PEG's due to the similiarities in water color. Your set looks like deep stone lined lake while PEG's things look like the streams that flow into it
Love that I'm seing ....infinite possibilities . &apls
I don't think that there will have some problem with Oppie canal set when I see the result with Simgoober's one , they have different textures but the models are almost similar .
However I think you have something to correct ; these brown support walls are useless ( and look out of place) now that you have raised the water level , you should just keep the white part with railings above the ground level ...
R they finished now? Then tell us: When and where will they be available? I'm so excited &dance

Some of the models are finished, but I dont have a release date. I want to make everything as good as posible, and this requires time ;)
QuoteHowever I think you have something to correct ; these brown support walls are useless ( and look out of place) now that you have raised the water level , you should just keep the white part with railings above the ground level ...
Mmmm, this would break even more the original design. I dont think I will change that, but I need to make some additional 1X pieces, with doors, access stairs, perhaps small docks... Anyway, for your tranquility, I will tell you that the LOD's wont be a problem when it comes to make custom lots with these ::)
&apls &apls &apls Very good work . The transition is very well done . It's cool that we can use different canals with your`s .
I hear my name has been mentioned here... ;)
What can I do you for?!
I think they look fantastic, although I may agree about the grass, it does seem a little bright? But I don't have any paticular suggestion on how to fix it. Over all awesome work. &apls
Ok, now I've had time to look through all pages of this thread.
You idea of using particles to simulate effect of waterfall is a right one and I must say realized pretty good.
Few comments I could make are - water is a bit too dark blue... lighten it up! only deep, deep sea may have (SOMETIMES!!!) this color. and when you set particles system make sure then it emits constant stream of particles through out the entire set period of time(frames). at the moment you have sort of stipe effect as you particles emitted in "portions" followed by some odd looking "pauses".
but overall there is very good progress!
Reflection wise clouds are about worst possible thing to pick! First of all there aren't clouds always in the sky to produce those. secondly clouds should cast shadows and there are none of those seen around. Thirdly there isn't such a thing as generic, neutral cloud - they are very VERY recognizable - this is why you always see the repetition no matter how tilable you texture is!
What would work much better is some reflection of the Sun - imitations of those - they could either be faked in Photoshop, or produced during the render with properly set materials and lighting.
If you use Max I would recommended to take a closer look at Mental Ray if you haven't done it already. Unlike V-Ray it almost absolutely compatible with BAT and in newer versions (like 3,5 supplied with MAX9) produces result to rival the best solutions that are out there. In Fact Mental Ray always been top rendering engine - top choice for big ticket movies like Matrix and Poseidon.
If you have any particular questions ask - will be happy to help with what I can!
Wow!?
What a beatiful canals it is!! :o
I intend to understand that difficulty to express the Natures(water,trees...) by BAT.
so I want to use this works early!! :D
However,
I have one idea about canals water(color) always.
Can I arbitrarily change it by using the Texture pack?? ()what() Just like a "BSC Parks" &idea
(I think it's no bad idea...)
It looks forward to the continued report. ;) ::)
Hello again,
thanks to all for the feedback &apls
Now, about your comments:
Grass too bright: Well, once you place some flora there it will look much better ;D
Water too dark: I agree, but after a week making testing with textures, this is the best I can do actually ::)
MAS71, I dont think this will be possible for the first version, sorry, I am having troubles with only 1 water texture, so the more water textures, the more problems I will have. Maybe for a next version / updtate
SimFox, thanks for stopping here and for your feedback and help. I admit I am a total newbie when it comes to 3DMax advanced features, and I feel really proud of what I did so far ()stsfd() . I understand it could be done in a better and more realistic way, but my level is this actually. I do appreciate your suggestions about the different render engines. Again I say I am learning 3DStudio using online tutorials and my brain, and there are way too many options that I am not aware of. It is good to know that I can experiment with Mental Ray as well ;)
Thanks to all for the comments and constructive criticism . I wont rush to release these canals, and I am trying to apply all your suggestions here, but I know that some of them wont we applicable to the final release ::)
Please consider including an overhanging piece that can be used underneath nam pieces/bridges :)
Take your time Jeronij, we wouldn't want you to release something you're not happy with, although from most post I get the feeling that "Patience" is not one of our collective virtues :D
Hi Jeroni-
These new canals are looking spectacular! Actually, the water color looks just right to me. Looks like this should fit well with the new region I'm planning which will more than likely end up using the Painted Desert terrain mod.
Take as much time as you need--I know how these things go. ;)
-Tarkus
still waiting....tic...toc...tic...toc ;D
These look awesome.
Don't forget to do diagonals! :P
Your canals are looking beautiful and wonderful transitions!
Hello to all again,
I have been making the last pieces for the first set. I have made a 2x2 water lot, and a 1x3 Straight canal piece. Finally I have made the universal bridge pieces, which will be also used as the end pieces. There are three. Right and left corner, and a central piece, which included 3 different models for variety. I hope you like them ;D

&apls Great progress é I like them very much . Can`t wait for use it.
Jeronij,
These are looking really great. I can't wait to try them in a city. I love the reflection of the "bridge" piece. Very impressive indeed.
---Gaston
Well it's me Jeronij. I started from the back, first download from LEX and then go to the thread and give my comments.
Comments.....Well let's see.....mmmmm.....
&idea Do not forget what your initial plan for these canals were:
Quotenew series of Canals, I know, I know, there are some already... , which are designed to fit better in template/warm regions. I will call this one Mediterranean Urban Residential Canals
You dropped the palm trees which was a sensible idea (as Badsim put it they tend to be repetitive).
I guess these canals are more for recreational purposes than anything else (of course in the past they were used for transport to the warhouses etc. but SC4 is a game modelled for contemporary cities). The SG and PEG canals are more industrial canals and would be great to combine with these. I guess with your Urban Residential Canals some gondola's would be more fitting than with SG's. So if you could add these (together with diagonals, overlay pieces, and additional 1x1 pieces with steps etc etc.) it would be great.
Just my two cents.
NIk-Nik
wow this is awesome work, excellent detail

That suggestion is what I was trying to say all along in a nutshell. I never say this but "DITTO" to

Scary, like NikNik read my mind. :shocked2: )

Under which name can I find these in the LET? Wanted to create some LOTs myself :satisfied:
QuoteUnder which name can I find these in the LET? Wanted to create some LOTs myself
FromTheAshes,
They haven't been released yet. Sorry. We are all waiting for them. LOL
---Gaston
The props have allready been released, I should find them in LET, right? ()what() (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=590)
Hmmm good question FromTheAshes. I'm not sure what props Jeronij is using for these. I know the lots themselves haven't been released to the LEX yet. You might try PMing Jeronij to ask him what props he is using. Wish I could answer you question.
---Gaston
Hello, I dont understand exactly your request, FTA, the props are available here: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=590
There are no available lots yet, but they'll come very soon. The props do show in the Lot Editor. type: 00JRJ_UrbanCanals and you shoud find them. There are also some families included.
Pls, tell me exactly what you do need?
Thanks jeronij,
I wasn't sure how to say it. LOL

still waiting.... ;D
LOL@Cali
Me too
These are gonna look fantastic in my next city. ;D

While we wait until the first lots are being released....
I started with Colyn's request. My first attempt to a dam...

I hope you find it credible...I am tired now and off ideas, so I will stop here. Your suggestions to finish this are welcome. I plan to add some sort of control tower, like PEG's, but my way...I made some extra space to the center of the dam...lets see what will come here ;)
OMG! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the gray rock-y/cement-y texture (sorry for shouting!) and those fences, and all of it!!!!
&dance &dance &dance &dance &dance &dance
Sweet! &apls Absolutly love it!
I am a bit worrued thow at the curved edges... you have security fences by the road and at the sides but... there is noone and I cant stop imaging how a curious child could fall into it... ??? Anyhow, dont mind me, I am a bit strange due painkillers that I need to take... &ops
But your work is absolutly wonderful!
Damn, that's a nice dam. :P
But it kinda lacks height. Are you planning on splitting the model into two so we can have a height-adjustable dam?
damn good dam jj!, the texture is just right &apls
I have already only a sigh. :o
Really beautiful modeling and design Jeroni it is!! ;)
I can't believe I miss these props since 2 days .. $%Grinno$%

very cool , is there going to be some kind of texture on top of the dam?, like a sidewalk or something?
(*wipes more drool off the keyboard*) Jeronij, quit teasing us and let us have them! &apls &apls &apls
Absolutely spectacular. This is going to make an incredible addition to the game. I am having a had time waiting. (I've downloaded the props already LOL)
---Gaston
That looks good JR ... you have done so well with the inner that I am feeling quite embarrassed about how I did the outside wall ;)
A wonderful job. Two things, though: make the dam wall shallower (less of a concave sorta look), and add some extra crap on top of it, like for instance, maybe a building or something, it doesn't need to be very big or anything. Unfortunately, since SC4's limited to a grid, we can't really have the road follow the curvature of the dam.
I modelled that wall specifically with those curves in order to get a more natural look in the game ... if you dont want the curve then use the PEG wall.
Here are some examples of how that "curve" makes this dam work well in SC4.

&apls Excellent work you done . it only miss a fish or two ;D
oooh, now thats worth waiting for...(still waiting for canals...."hums jeorpardy song") 8)
More like 10-12 steps further.
Oh my (insert deity of personal choice)! That is (insert expletive of choice) incredible. Very realistic. I live on the Mississippi River and I have seen these alot. [ linkie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lock_and_Dam_No._12) ] [ linkie (http://www.johnweeks.com/upper_mississippi/) ] These will be a great addition to any city with a river. I will have to figure out how to build the system of locks along side the dams. I am waiting patiently for the release of this wonderful set. Fantastic job!
---Gaston
Yowza, Jeroni . . . that's absolutely amazing. Here in the northwestern US, we have tons of dams, particularly along the Columbia and the Snake Rivers. I'm very excited about this project, and am also patiently waiting the release. ;)

but it is way to dark inside - even on the entirely black background it is almost completely black in-between the water outlets. You should either tune your materials to compensate of think on the new lighting...
wow.... jeronij..... ur works ar always extremely superb :o :o!!!! i like the detail and realistic texture....... ()stsfd() u ar the truly artist!!!
Thanks to all for the nice comments
I said I was not sure about the previous pics, because I used a model which was not mine, just to see how the idea did look like. I have started to create a completely new (and mine) dam, very similar to this one, but with my personal "signature" ;D
Before I start to post some pics of the dam, and complete it, I have decided to finish the props for the first lots pack, so you can have some lots available soon, and then I will follow with the dam, which is probably going to be something more....what about a modular plopable dam... ::)
SimFox, I appreciate your suggestions and I will keep them in mind when skinning my new model
To All: thanks for your extraordinary support and feedback &apls . It is a pleasure to create custom content for such a great people :D
Some pics soon.....I finished the underbridge pieces yesterday, and started with the diagonals... ;)
Underbridge pieces, yey
Jeronij,
Could you also create a "fish ladder" for your set? A fish ladder is a set of pools of water like a stairway that the migrating fish jump upstream with. It gives the fish a route around the dam.

Dang ... thats a fine idea.
I second this request/suggestion.
I turn my back for a few seconds! ::) :P Wow jeronij - this set is coming along tremendously. I am really amazed at what you are doing here! Great stuff
When you at it, could you make the dam lean backwards. Have a look at the Hover Dam (http://www.buylasvegastours.com/images/lv_adv_photo/Hoover_dam_a2.jpg).
If you guys keep thinking up things for him to add we'll never get the canals! :'(
Although a fish ladder would be nice.......... ;D
Oooooh a fish ladder. Very kool idea. I thought the spillway was just about the koolest thing. I can bearly wait for the canals let alone the dam, the spillway and a fish ladder too. LOL It just keeps getting better and better. Did I mention I was waiting for the canals. LOL
I was thinking about the spillway, you could use some animated water/spray to indicate when it was operating. Hmmm can water be made seasonal? &Thk/(
And did I read diagonals and underbridge pieces?
QuoteJeronij:
Some pics soon.....I finished the underbridge pieces yesterday, and started with the diagonals...
Yup that is what the man said.
I wonder if you are going to do any diagonal underbridge pieces. Several times now I have wanted to run a canal under diagonal transit (ie. road, street, rail, GLR, highway, etc.) but there is nothing out there that I can find to do it. (I have uesed a "road over avenue" piece and hid the piece
under the canal.)

did I mention I was waiting for the canals to be released. LOL)
Geez my butt hurts from waiting(but still doing it) ;D
Huh, WOW! Both dams look great and both would be great to have. Amazing. &apls
Great ¡¡¡ So many good ideas
What about some pics of real "fish ladders" so I can understand better what you are talking about and how to represent it in the MAX ;) ?
Thanks to all for the feedback and "enthusiasm" ;D

Jesh, the dam looks realy great.
I know it's just early stages, but this is going to be one of your masterpieces again jeronij.
??? How about starting a new thread for it, after all this is the Urban residential canals thread and not the 'Jeronij dam' thread is it?
So what is the staus ofteh canals?
Any chance to ponder over the suggestions that others and myself made?
Nik-Nik
i cant wait, excellent work you have done
Hmmm, fish ladders are a series of small "pools". Each pool is set slightly higher than the one before it if going upstream. The fish can then jump from one pool to the next. [ LINKIE (http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364_19092---,00.html) ] I'm not a big wikipedia fan but this link has some really good pictures of fish ladders or weirs [ WIKI LINKIE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_ladder) ] Hope this helps Jeronij.
BTW, did I mention that I was still waiting for thr canals to be released? ::) LOL

i like the fish ladder idea, although ive never seen such out here.
There is one just north of Sacramento:

beautiful! Please any chance of a modern set? People only ever make these really pretty ornimental ones. ()what()

toxicpiano,
You might take a look at
Oppie's canals. They are a bit more "modern" looking; I suppose. Not as "ornimental" I guess you could say. You can find them here [ LINKIE (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&keyword=oppie&type=all) ] I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for or not.
Jeronij,
I love the new canals. Now I just have to wait for all the addons to come out. (ie. extention pieces, diagonals, transitions, etc. (edit: I almost forgot the dam and spillway, too) ) ;D
---Gaston
I have all of Oppies stuff almost. What I mean by modern is sort of industrial, concrete with railings esc.

toxicpiano,
I'm afraid that is the most "industrial" looking canal stuff I have seen. Maybe someone esle knows of something I haven't seen. Sorry I couldn't help. You might have to "modify" someones canals with lot editor if you want something very specific. I had to do that to these [ Linkie (http://www.toutsimcity.com/downloads2.php?voir=628&type=l&page=2) ] because I don't like palm trees. So I took um out and put in seasonal trees. It is alot of work and I'm still not completely happy with um, but it was what I wanted so...
Hope you find um.
---Gaston
I would swear that I posted here yesterday.... anyway, finally all the props and the basic lots set have been released. I decided to not add flora to my lots, so if you plan to customize them with the Lot Editor, you will have to add base textures, and remove them later with the REader, if not, the lots will look odd/bad ::)
I agree with ToxicP about a really industrial canals set. Lots of concrete !!!! I write it down in my to-do list ;)
Yeah!!!! &apls &apls &apls
That's great to hear, that it is on your to do list. I would also appreciate a very industrial looking canal with lots of concrete.
Robin
Yes... concrete canals.... good idea &hlp !
I saw Colyn's release, and couldn't understand how I had missed out on the originals! I have missed much since i last checked in here :o. Fantastic job jeronij- I am also waiting excitedly for these &dance.
Thanks to all for the comments

Please, your constructive criticisms are welcome. I know there are some texturing problems, which I will see how I can solve...
This is the main shape....the details are to come yet.... ;)
Very nice indeed
Jeronij. However...
The "platforms that set out over the spillways stike me as odd. There is something about them that doesn't quite look like it fits with the rest of the structure. I think perhaps there are too many of them. Maybe you should look at connecting the outside ones and the center ones. Sorta like:
__/--\___/--\__ instead of _/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_
If that makes any sense. As always it is just a suggestion.
One other now that I look at the photos somemore.
The "up-stream" side of the dam should mimic the "down-stream" side a bit more. By that I mean there needs to be a way for the water to reach the spillway portion. Currently there are no holes for the over flow to travel through. It would go over the top and the roadway if there was too much. Again just a suggestion. &ops
---Gaston
Dam that dam looks awesome. LOL
Robin  &apls
I know nothing about Dams (except I still love the cementy texture) so here is a picture of a real life one near me that looks similar to your creation.Folsom Dam (http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=882)
I would love to use these once released. I agree with the few that have already selected their colour, I like the blue, but maybe a little more transparent, otherwise, fabulous work.
Incredible work your doing Jeronij. Looking forward for more.
Cheers
&apls
again thanks to all for the feedback
Fred_Ginger, special thanks for the link, It is really useful ;D

Gaston, fortunately for us, SC4 does not have nor surface water nor rain.... ()stsfd() ::) $%Grinno$% :D :D Thanks for your suggestions, which I will try to keep in mind as far as I can
the dam is looking very beautiful, jeronij! &apls
Not a bad job, but really, the platform should just have a straight edge. The concrete texture is a little dark, but that's okay. I wouldn't mind seeing a less steep version of that spillway, though.
Excellent work so far ... as it seems to be the same width than the already existing ones , and as I've seen some players using terraforming to give the illusion of having enlarge them , I just wonder about a larger dam .... ::)
I have missed this ... here are some things to keep in mind ...
The way your model works it would seem like there would be a set amount of dropoff needed for the dam to look right. I suggest that you work with the prototupe in some mountains and see what happens if the land slopes away on the sids and you cannot set the dropoff properly.
Tale a look at both my dams ... the Katze and the Mallorca ... they are both insensitive to dropoff height . On the Katze you can plop stuff one tile in under the wall in order to make a good transition into a river or stream or canals.
Those spillway feet should be a seperate overhanging model that can be plopped to merge into whatever level of spillway is visible.
Also those flat square sides is going to be hard to work with in the mountains.
Just my thoughts.
Thanks to all for the inputs
I am busy with other things now, but I will keep your suggestions in mind when I go back to work with the dam ;)
Very nice the canals and the dam Jeronij...
Looks awesome.. &apls
Saludos
What about weirs?
They're basically just a wall, where on one side, the water is just below the top lip of the wall, and there's a slope going down to a second level.
It could be used as a supplement to the spillway?
Hi Jeronij,
I really love your canalsystem. and also the CSX variety. I use them a lot. For my palacegardens I'll show soon in my Stropon MD I use them to create a few large ponds and canals. Could you perhaps make a 1x1 tile with a wooden or stone pier? Just a small one. big enough for a pleasureboat or gondola.
Strech.
Your canals and the dam are really awesome, I love their textures. A work of professional as always

I have decided to continue with the urban residential canals series, and in an effort to enchance the existing posibilities, I have started the narrow canal series.

I hope you find them useful. These are the core pieces. The next to come: underbridge 2x and 3x, bridge piece, start/end piece, diagonals.... I'll keep you informed ;)
nice work, it would be awesome if you included a turning underpass piece.... so it turns ninety into a tunnel, no canal set has one and they are very useful for canals in tinght spaces...
Jeronij,
Really some great stuff. I really like these. They should look very nice along with the originals.
Quotemightygoose said: "it would be awesome if you included a turning underpass piece.... so it turns ninety into a tunnel"
Hmmm, I think I agree. I was thinking a way to make it look like the water was travelling under the road along the side of the canal. I'll try to draw it with characters.

I think I understand what mightygoose means. I think SG's irrigation canals have a corner like this. (
For that matter they have one like I was looking for as well. &ops ) I'll try to look for an image of it a bit later and post it here if we still need it.
Aside... I was playing around today and realized that
NO ONE has made a canal "bridge" piece for GLR. Right now there is only the "drawbridge" that doesn't operate. It just has the illusion of the water flowing under a
very low bridge. Maybe when the new draggable GLR comes out, someone can make some canal bridges (like the draw bridges for roads that look like they are operating.), since there will have to be all sorts of new puzzle pieces made then.
---Gaston
aww man my spaces didnt align
I hope I got the idea... ::)
First the projected underbridge pieces (2x and 3x)
And the standard end piece (it can also be used as bridge piece)
And finally the two suggested pieces:
Gaston`s suggestion
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/jrj_uc/JRJ_NC_08.jpg)
and mightygoose's suggestion
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/jrj_uc/JRJ_NC_09.jpg)
This one will require a mirror piece ::)
Going for the diagonals now... ()testing()
QuoteJeronij said: I hope I got the idea
I think he's got it. LOL Now for the draw bridges, and the same pieces for the variable width canals. ;D
---Gaston
I like the bridge for avenues . With the other ones , I dislike to see pillars in water in that case of a thin canal . ::)
Great realisations of Gaston and mightygoose 's suggestions .Totally unique for a canal set .
Take care about the complexity of this canal set or you'll soon have requests for a tutorial ... :D ... I'll be the first ... $%Grinno$% ... joke ... :P
&apls
Wow! Great work. I am really excited about all the new possibilities this canal set is opening up.
Now we only need elevated NAM puzzle pieces without supports. It looks really strange to have the support collums in the middle of these narrow canals ;)
Thomas
Something I did with SG's canals once was use a "Highway over Avenue" puzzle piece. (I think that is what it was anyway ()what() ) I plopped it on the canal piece and had an instant canal overpass. The water in the canal hid the avenue. I never really watched it much to see what happened. I have since abandoned that city. That might be a place to start to find an "overpass" puzzle piece. Just a suggestion.
---Gaston
that would be a nice addition to your canal set!
It's an excellent job jeronij &apls
Nice job jeronij ;D ;D
Hi Jeronij :)
I am decrease the chance to speak with you recently, and a little lonely Mas'71. $%Grinno$%
BTW,
Wow!! Good!! Good narrow canal PP!!
I am (we are JPN) looking forward to completion of your new works of "JRJ Urban Canals" very much. :D
Please complete it without panicking in a hurry.(LOL) :P
i think it would be cool with diagonals... (god me with my tunnel entrances again :P) if you had two tunnel mouth pieces.. for diagonal.... a piece that straightend up to orthoganal and went into a tunnel... and a piece that the tunnel wall was perpendicular to the canal. this could come as an overhanging prop which means you could do diagonal road over canal with no odd gaps....
MAS71 san, always nice to see you
mightygoose, do you mean something like the diagonal end pieces I made for my Seawalls V4 (marrast's type) ?¿ ( addapted of course to these models)
for the diagonal set have short turn orthogonal endpeice and a diagonal endpiece
Waaa it's wonderful &apls
Felicitacion ;)
Wow.......super work on the canal pieces. A great addition indeed.
Robin  &apls
Sweet, this looks like it'll be another great release from a master. Love them as always. I'm still yet to use the other pieces... But I'm sure I'll find somewhere for them to go in time :D
Jeronij, those narrow canals are super! &apls &apls &apls Is there a chance that you can make a connector from the large canals to the narrow like this >----, that is one piece that goes from a 2-wide to 1-wide? ()what() (What can I say, I like symmetry!) ;D
Vicki,
I'm no expert but, I think it would be very difficult to go from a 2 wide tile to the center of a one wide tile. The only way would be to offset the canal on the single tile, I think. Going from a three wide canal to a single wide would be very easy to maintain symmetry. I agree I like symmetry as well. It is a deffinate challange to switch canal types (wide [two tile] sets to narrow [one tile] sets, or even the irrigation canals) because so far noone has created any bridges that are wider than 2 tiles or transition pieces for the end of a canal. I would love to see a 3 tile bridge.
---Gaston
I went to go make a setup with 1x1 Jeronij canals but what did i find, they weren't out yet :P I can see why after looking at this thread, I'll be sure to use em ;)
Those new lots look fantastic and the original ones look great in my cities.
One question, kinda off topic, the paved stone pavements in the pics above what mod is that??
Wow this is nice. Can it be downloaded?
How is the dam project going JRJ? :)
Hello Jeronij,
I have some suggestions about your dam. I'm very interested in it, because I plan to make some dams in my new mountainous region (one of them will be really big).
1. Gaston suggested to do something with spillways. I agree, but I think I don't understand his proposition. Maybe I can help - see below.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg70.imageshack.us%2Fimg70%2F4222%2Fp5182200sq1.jpg&hash=59c2873e8fbad3b6c918d0a72d0025f7786c4027)
Another detail of the dam ( from the lake side) - to think about it:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg70.imageshack.us%2Fimg70%2F1659%2Fp5312289hh8.jpg&hash=c13d5ee13d934b03694db9d57439d76cf56cde00)
2. Greenish color on the spillways: if it is water flora (algae), it's upper end should be lower and prallel to the slope (think about water flowing along it). But I think these are not algae, because the spillways are under water only occasionally, when there is too much water in the lake. If this is moist, then OK, but in this case it should cover all surface except the lowest area (when water is flowing from time to time).
3. Last thing: would be possible to make it modular? It would be excellent, dams are sometimes quite long. Last year we worked on a small dam in mountains near my city Bielsko and it is over 200 m long (it is a ground dam with a concrete crown and I plan to make it in sc4 without special lots).
Hello to all and thanks for the feedback and suggestions
All my BAT projects are a bit stopped right now because of a RL attack ::) , so I dont have anything new at the moment &mmm
But I will keep you informed about the development of these projects ;D
Ennedi, thanks for the pics, they will be very useful  . Specially with all these workers there, who give me a very good idea about the scale ;)

...I should say fantastic canal system. %BUd%
Good luck with RL!
Finally I have found the time to finish the narrow canal basis set, including the diagonals. The files are sent to Barby who will do the beautification works ;D
The included lots in the basis set:
1 . Basic 1x1 straight piece
2. Basic 1x1 90º curve
3. Basic X crossing
4. Basic T crossing
5. Basic End/Bridge piece
6. Underbridge 2x piece
7. Underbridge 3x piece
8. Alternative T piece - lateral End/Tunel
9. 90º End/Tunel curve rigth
10. 90º End/Tunel curve left
11. Diagonal Basic piece
12. Straight to Diagonal Left
13. Straight to Diagonal Right
14. Diagonal End/Tunel Left
15. Diagonal End/Tunel Right
I hope you will find this set useful once lotted and modded.
These will be the last canal pieces in some time.... my mind needs something different ;D

Well, compatibility with other existing canals has been requested, so I am somehow limited when designing the final lots.
Anyway I reserve some surprises yet, which hopefully will make this set unique ;)
And I dont understand your post as a criticism. It is simply that you liked the first more.
you mean to this one? well hope you decide to make that request possible ;)

The existing transition piece should do that job appropriately ;) (Better if you use SG's end piece instead a normal straigh piece)
but there is no open water transition.... shame but i suppose i can live with what is there...
It would look weird if there was an open water tranistion really, because the colours of the two types of water (is that possisble? ()what()) are so different. It would seem as if the water was changing colour just for the hell of it :D. I think jeronij's current solution is probably the best possible.
Fred
Hi jeronij,
I downloaded your canals, BTW your pictures are awesome. I am having a problem though. The canal kit is showing up in the game with the available choices but when I plop a piece down there is nothing there. If I try to put something over that tile it says it is already occupied but there is nothing showing. When I bulldoze the tile it gives a cost and bulldozes as if something is there. I installed it according to directions and the file is in my plugins folder. Maybe there's something I'm missing.
Thanks,
John
You need the two prop packs:

http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=635
Thanks BarbyW,
That did the trick.
OK, I have another question. How do you put roads and such over these canal pieces. I see pictures of this but I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks in advance.
John
Use the end pieces with a space between and run the road between them.
Thanks BarbyW. Please excuse my ignorance but I don't quite understand how to make this work. I am a visual type person so I have to see it to understand it. The pictures on page 12 give me an idea but I don't know how to make it work. Thanks for any further help.

thats the point ive been trying to get across lol
Out of curiosity:
any chance this canal set will be made a NAM addon? I mean, like in a tab-ring of it own. That sort of stuff would clean up the menu's.
Prodarit
Unfortunately, applying a tab-ring like you suggest would not work with park pieces such as Jeronij's canals. The Tab-rings only work with
transit pieces.
However, there is a way to hide them by using a menu management lot (MML). I believe diggis is planning to work on one for Jeronij's canals. You can check progress on their construction and learn more about MMLs at the MML Forum at Peg''s Site. (http://simpeg.com/forum/index.php?board=84.0) I think you need to be registered to enter.
I hope I have helped.
@Prodarit and Nwelsh This is definately a good idea. It is definately possible to do. Unfortunately, there is a limitation on the NAM Tab-Rotation Rings. That limitation is there can only be a certain number of pieces in each ring and there is a maximum number of rings that can be created. I think if I am not mistaken that maximum is 16 total Rotation Rings. Many of these are in use right now and some are reserved for future use in transit networks.
Now, one way to reduce the number of pieces Jeronij's Canals would need is by creating a starter piece and making it into a "draggable network" without SC4Path files. The problem with this, is there is ALOT of work to do with this as you will have to create a RUL system for this "new network" as I am for the SAM (Street Addon Mod). And making these pieces work in a network system is MUCH, MUCH harder than doing in a lot format like Jeronij is doing. Each of his models would have to be created as a T21 (Type 21 Exemplar "Props") and applied to the "new network". Its not an easy or quick project to do, but it would probably be the most beneficial for adding stuff in the future. But, as I have said before, many of the few people who can do this kind of project are in RLS or doing other projects right now.

This issue with this is it would have to be a network, and as we can't add new ones it will have to replace an existing netowrk Cool for a venice city, but a little difficult for any other.

Not if you use draggable starter pieces. This exact process I am using for the SAM. It will allow us to have all the different Street Mods at once at our disposal and allow you to build them where you want, when you want. Each street system will have all wealth levels, functional paths, different textures, and will all be able to use at the same time. (It technically isnt replacing a newtwork, its adding multiple versions of textures to a network.)
I could actually make it so that water tiles would drag from a starter puzzle piece with no paths to make draggable canals. Or make draggable BSC Park Paths with pedestrian paths to make them functional and draggable. Or I can make a draggable parking lot out of PEGs Scenic Drive with T21 exemplars on it for the car props and lamp posts. Its all in creating new textures, ALOT of RULs and some puzzle pieces. It may not sound like alot of work but it is!
It can be done!
Yeah I get that, except what network are you going to use to drag the canals? It works for the streets mod as they are all streets. I may not be understanding it right but it works for the GLR and the Street packs as it is just a different texture for an existing network, but won't work for the Ped Malls as there is not existing draggable network already.

Sure it will work for any textures you give it. What dictates the traffic type on the tile is the SC4path file. If you have the SC4Path file dictating only pedestrian traffic then you will get a draggable "pedestrian network". You might have to draw it using "roads" but it will still be a pedestrian network. If I am not mistaken the exsisting pedestrian tile puzzle pieces are based off of road puzzle pieces with a new SC4path file.
If you wanted, you could have a T-Intersection street texture with a path file that is from the GLR network and then GLR will use that T-Intersection as if it were from the GLR network. Or you could have rail traffic or monorail traffic on it and the usage would be the same. The texture doesnt define what type of traffic is on it, its the SC4path file. And if there is no path file then there is no traffic, meaning a draggable texture or lot in a sense.
Wow, cool. And it can take BAT's on the lots too? Thats pretty cool.
Diggis.... it is very finicky with BATs, but to an extent yes. This is part of the limitations, but if you can get a 3D network like puzzle pieces or El-Rail or HSRP, then yes, you can place BATs on lots.
draggable canals is inevitable......

Imagine, SG canals or Jeronij's Urban Canals.... draggable....
Is this perhaps the reason because I made so many pieces for my canals... ::) ?¿ ;)
Just posted some minutes ago in another thread... ;D
@ Diggis
Sorry for the confusion. I just reread the list of MMLs and found that Jeronij's lots were requested. :-[
@ Jplumbley
Wow! I did not know that you could apply the draggable feature to BATs other then transit pieces.
Thats cool, as I understand this thread, I think there are still some lots to be released, so I will wait till it's all out. As for the draggable thing, if the game thinks it IS a network piece...
Hello to all,
I have some bad news about the missing piece.... &mmm ... I have decided to spend my scarce SC4 time in another project, which will be terribly time consuming, and which wont me allow to finish that piece....
I know how important this piece is, so I can send the original models (max) to any member who would give me a hand with that, and create that piece ;D You can PM about this if you have the time and willing to give me a hand ;)
I hope the new project developes right, and is worth the time it will take ::)
well its simple enough to make
all you need to do is place the inner corner piece at two corners of the same water tile... thus the piece is made. its not time consuming at all really.
thanks for explaining this tip mg
The draggable canals thing im not to much of a fan for. Draging the water will be a god send of course since it will save a lot of time for those of us who make wider one but would it even be possible to drag a park? The canal is a park however I think a draggable park for something like canals would cause conflict with the game itself.
Sim nation, you would have to make the canals a transit network, which they technically should be any way.
OOOOOOOOOOOh. Brown Canals! Finally a way to show that your city has some very bad sewer problems.
Please try not to resurrect old threads. This one hasn't been posted in in 9 months now.
