1x lots are always tremendously useful - certain circumstances give you one-tile rows in cities all the time, yet Maxis strangely filled this gap with only a few houses and a pitiful selection of shops, and on the industrial end, an assortment of sheds and "burning units".

A 1-tile warehouse is perfect - thanks, and Merry Christmas/Happy New Year!

jestarr

ardecila  Yeah, I know what you mean. ::)  That's why I make these, constantly, in various lengths.

Here's a pic of another that I found on one of my backup disks.  Same basic building with different windows and textures.  I called this one Ballard's Ball and Jacks Factory. :D  I've probably made a few dozen of these over the last two years.  I can make updated lots and release this one, also, if there's any interest in it.  Cheers!

It's beautiful Jess! You've added some great textures, especially the roof looks very nice. I think many people will appreciate it if you would upload these buildings. When they grow next to each other they can create some nice density in industrial area's.

There is definately not enough 1x1 Industrials so these would be greatly appreciated.

Umm..omg! You mean to say...you have been holding out on us with these beauties??  &mmm

;D Good to see you're hooking us up with them now, they look awesome :)

jestarr

Thanks all, I'm glad you like them.  Here's an in-game test pic of another lot.  I was checking the textures and prop placement to see if they would hold up.  Unfortunately, what you see in gmax isn't always what you get in the game, as I see some things that definitely need massaging.  Anyway, here's the latest progress pic.  Cheers!

Love the 1x buildings....I've seen so many RL older industrial neighborhoods in the east and midwest that have block after block of that type of structure....hard to recreate in the game, even on a small scale...these would really help...

I remember the final lot here.....you were working on it about the time I started reading this thread....love it...and love how it looks so busy busy busy....

Happy New Year a day late....

Those 1-tile wide buildings will really come in handy for filling all of those empty spaces in industrial areas... can't wait for them to be released!  ;D

I remember this building too... great to see that you have continued it!  Nice job using all of the trucks, especially your new ones.

Keep up the excellent work!

OK, Belkin's and Ballard's have been uploaded to the LEX.  Cheers!

OK, enough with the old stuff. :D  Here's a test render pic of my latest effort.  This will be Wood's Paper Products; makers of T.P., among other items. The modeling's almost done and I'm starting to work on the brick texture.  The color is close to what I want, but the mortar needs a little more definition and the bricks need dirtying too.  This will come in the usual three flavors.  Cheers!

Super work on this one Jess.

Excellent work on this one!  It looks like it will fit in very nicely with smaller downtowns and midtowns.

Thanks everyone!  I really appreciate your comments.  So, I've been working a little more on this.  I tried gascookers's broccoli technique, on my brick texture, but it didn't come out the way I wanted, so I tried a different one.  It may/may not fit a dirty industrial better.  I'm not a very good judge.  I've added some other textures, more roof/wall doohickeys, and some bumper posts. I still need to work on the roof texture, add some vent pipes, and figure out something believable, to put on the higher roof section.  Then it's on to lighting the docks and such.  Here's a pic of how it
currently appears.  Cheers!

oldrogue

very nice...I for one am happy with the bricks.....also really love the corregated tin awnings over the docks....brilliant...or at least pretty smart ::)
