Thanks everyone, I'm glad you like it. :)  Here's a pic of my first in-game test.  It's currently on a 6x4 lot, but looks a little cramped to me, so I'll probably increase the lot size and add some small warehouses and such.  I'm also thinking of rotating the building counterclockwise so the steps face the street.  Cheers!

oldrogue

Wonderful....looking good.....makeing it a real "industrial complex" type of lot would be cool...how about one of each....one large lot with an extra building or two...and one with almost no lot at all....for a more wall to wall type of feeling...?..

My first thoughts were that you were correct on all points.. but now I "zone out" looking at it.. I think that the building is much too small to justify that level of trucking activity.. Thus if you wish to make it the main building, I think you could use a smaller lot easily with justification.. just by reducing the possible activity focused on the parking lots.. just my thoughts.. I mean I was kind of taken aback when I realized that the building is only  (footprint wise) the size of a few trucks.. on that old a building (suggested by its design) those trucks were not even imagined.. would have likely been bob-tails ... or at any rate considerably older and smaller trucks..
I dunno.. maybe I'm all wet..

jestarr

I've changed the size of the lot.  It's now 5x3.  I also did some old, canvas covered, trucks for it, instead of the semi's.  Here's a current pic.  Cheers!

SC4BOY

You're amazing.. you've got a real eye for translating concepts to "ingame".. even though that is exactly what I was describing, I never would have come up with such a nice-looking lot!! nice job as usual.. hehe

That lot is an INCREDIBLE improvement on the pic before it! (to my eye anyways.. )

simdad1957

The lot looks much better with the smaller trucks. Very well constructed.

SC4BOY:  Thanks.  I knew the lot didn't look right, I just couldn't figure out what it was.  Too close to the problem, apparently. :D

simdad1957:  Thanks and I agree.  The smaller lot and trucks makes everything fit together much better.

oldrogue:  Thanks man.  I appreciate it.

So, reading through the comments, it struck me that I never showed a snapshot of the rear of the building.  Not sure why, as I usually take them from all angles. &mmm  Anyway, here's a pic from the rear.  Cheers!

Pat

LoL Jestarr now are you certain you have all angles covered now? LOL anywho that is looking real good

Yep I have to agree the small trucks just make that lot perfect. Looking forward to its release.

I mentioned in an earlier post, that I had more props floating around.  Here's a preview of some more I managed to dredge up.  The stacked containers are new, but they're just the old single ones merged and re-rendered.  The same with the billboards.  The originals were designed to fit on the side of a building and weren't really useful for anything else.  I also have some 2x6 and 3x6 metal buildings that I was going to use for a port lot that I never got around to doing. :P  The trucks were for an auto wrecking yard that also never got off the ground.  Cheers!

More props... yay!!!  &apls

I have that same Coke billboard in my textures folder  :D  I actually have about 6 or 7 variations from that era if you'd be interested.  (Prop family, maybe?)

I've already used it.. and it looks great!!

Yoman

Gotta love those compacted cars there on the trucks. These will be very useful to me, any chance of photos of those metal buildings also?

ky72x

I cannot wait to use those container props!  The crushed car trucks will also come in handy for several lots.

jestarr

Jon:  Thanks!  However, I probably already have them.  I've about 80 billboard textures, 14 of which are for coke. :D

SC4BOY:  Thanks.  I'm glad you like it.

Yoman:  I'll post an in-game pic later tonight.

ky72x:  I finally found the disk containing all the container and railcar skins.  There's about 50, or so, more to do. :P

I'll probably post these in a series of prop packs, instead of waiting for all to be done, since it might take a while to finish them.  I've also found a few other props, that I'd forgotten about, that I'll include.  Mostly small stuff and some park related thingies.  Cheers!

oldrogue

thanks so much....I'm just not getting into lotting, so this will be fun.
