Monkey Island

Welcome to Monkey Tail!



This scenic town got its name from the curvy canal which runs through its heart. Monkey Tail is a warm coastal town on the south end of Monkey Island. Known for its golden bananas and great swinging vines, Monkey Tail also has great facilities for residents and business. The canal is a big draw for residents and tourists alike. Why, just yesterday I saw a tour group from Golden Tamarind Elementary School in the natural area by the canal. Let's see what all the fuss is about!


The winding canal from which the town gets its name. It ends in Monkey Tail but runs all the way to Gorilla Gap.



It features parkland on one side to allow for vine swinging and chest beating and banana flinging. Needless to say, it is quite popular.



The slender belltower of Our Lady of Fay Wray is a prominent landmark.



It competes with the domed Cathedral of St. George the Curious nearby.

The provincial capital is located here as well. The Province of Monkey Bay is one of Monkey Island's most productive viniculture areas. Perhaps you have had a glass of their finest?






There are a few straight parts of the Monkey Tail Canal too.



While here, don't forget to stop by the Golden Banana Casino. Not only does it have great games (all rigged, BTW) but also great lounge acts. Howler Monkeys will be performing at 8 tonight. Bring your earplugs and come early for a great seat!



Before we head out of town to get some Monkey Bay wine, let's take a wider view of the town...

Oh Boy was I glad I caught that plane, only by a whisker though ( got distracted by a mobile tea cart in departure lounge   they had Monkey Picked tea available  and well I just had to have a cup  )

Wonderful little town. Now I must admit I will try some seriously good wine after I've had another stroll around town

bat   Thanks! It is quite a milestone for Monkey Island, which started out as a bit on the SHT thread on ST. I never thought it would have more than 5-6 updates. But, it took a life of its own!

Jmouse   Thanks! The canals are SG's narrow canals, all 1 tile wide. That's the only one with the diagonal lots in it to make the curvy monkey tail. Glad you enjoyed the update.
