I could spend hours looking at this page of this thread alone, Blade- these are stunning maps, and each would be a great basis for an SC4 region.

Excellent work, my friend!

I really need to start browsing these threads more often. These maps are amazng. I'm looking forward to the full version of Oahu. I also love the Santa Barbara map. I went to high school there (Santa Barbara HS) and lived on the Mesa as well. Great job with the map, and the history lesson was great too. Excellent work.

What year did you graduate? I graduated from SB in '83 and lived on Murrell Rd. on the Mesa on the other side of Cliff Dr. from Monroe Elementry, another school I attended .  Used to surf at Henry's Beach almost daily and used to climb Gibraltar Rock quite often when the opportunity came.

It's me again with another completed Hawaiian map, only this time, you get the entire island on one map ;D.  This monster is a 12x10 lrg tile map and took me over 2.5 hours to open up all 120 tiles to get that nice lookin' rendered look :P  So far, I have 6 of the 7 islands ready to be 'rendered' with only the Big Island left to finish yet.  That, I'm afraid will be a monstrous map that will have to be broken down into smaller more manageable maps.

Without any further delays with unnecessary ramblings, here is the first of the Hawaiian Islands, Kauai:

This will be uploaded later on today or tonight   Thanks for dropping by and please come again ;D

Thanks Ennedi :)  They are pretty playable, just doesn't look like they are until you getter a closer look in game.  Some of the monstrous maps listed in my previous post will be broken down into mini-map paks for the faint of heart for upload along with the giant sized monstrosities :P

Heblem created a monster when he taught me how to convert DEM data to 16-bit grayscale......Once you get the hang of it, it's a snap to pop these maps out like they're on an assembly line ;D  The tedious part is opening all the tiles in-game to get the Region Census views.

I lived on Terrace Rd (just across Cliff from San Rafael Dr.). I graduated '03. I only attended high school at SBHS from Sophomore year on up (just moved there then). I surf a longboard (10'0") so Henry's wasn't exactly the best beach, but they let dogs down there so I can't complain. I'd go for bike rides over into Montecito and Summerland every once in a while though. Good times there. Not a bad place to live at all. Again, great work.
