Update 12: Highsbury, and it's new station! - Celebration Continues

The Highsburian Transport Comitee had, in order to relieve even more congestion, ordered the old Chapman Station to be completely renovated inside, and planned to make into the Highsbury International Station, capable of receiving highspeed rail traffic. As always in Highsbury, due to laws that say that any sort of transportation construction (planned by the official Comitee) does not require any sort of confirmation, the renovation of the station and the re-laying of the rails was soon finished. It was also decided that the station would have a dedicated GLR and Bus Connection to it.

Soon enough, questions regarding the name emerged. Keep it "Chapman Station", change it to "Highsbury International", or something else? The Comitee debated for almost a week, until they finally decided to name the station "St. Dustin - Highsbury International", named after St. Dustin, known for his research on statistics.

A different view on St. Dustin International.

Contrary to national laws, this subdivision in Highsbury does not have a "Preserve 19th Century Housing" enactment. Thus, modern Cottages Ornée are very popular in the richer neighbourhoods.

But the 19th Century Housing still remains in the less wealthy areas.

Since some people started to feel unconfortable in their neighbourhood, the government decided to open some Community Centers; most of them engineered and kept open by Paroch Social Skills Inc. The government already had quite some debts, due to the continuous construction, they couldn't afford to pay for nice buildings, and instead imported some prefab brutalist buildings.

As GLR kept growing more popular, and so did land values, the government decided to use more GLR inside Avenues and Roads. The project payed of nicely.

More endless suburbs.

Due to the high land values, some medium-sized buildings appeared. The government didn't like this, and decided to ask Robin Productions what do with this plot of land.

And to end with, some more pictures of St. Dustin Highsbury International.

Front view.

Well then, I hope you enjoyed this update!

thundercrack83 and Paroch: I hope you both like the buildings that have been named after you.
rooker1: Please, what would you want to be built in your plot of land? Preferably something plopable tho ;)

Please reply!

3rd reply here today!

Hey, nice update! St. Dustin Highsbury International looks good, and some nice suburbs. And great Roadtop GLR.

Naming some things after someone in your region... I did that too! I name some cities (or zones in the city) after MD's and SC4 Devotees.

Keep it up!

Best,
Maarten

oh that is just FANTASTIC!!! St Dustin :D thats just great

and those GLR-in-roads are zomg, similar to what you would expect in 3RR

I think you should make one of those tracks from the train station into HSR?

I saw some great new additions in the shown pictures...cannot wait to play with some of them. The street trams are realy gorgeous. I do love the station area that you have build in High Grove.... excellent network of roads, railroads, trams!

Excellent udpate! I do have a few questions, though...

-Is the underground rail station functional for underground rail?

- Is the GLR-in-road functional?

- You mention a "preserve 19th century housing ordinance" - is this some sort of in-game ordinance that I can enact and have only CP's early 19th century residentials grow, or is this just for the purpose of this MD? 'Cause I really like those houses and I'd like to be able to restrict growth to only them in places...
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Glory be unto the modder and unto the fun and unto the city game!

WOW!

I don't know what to say, Casper! Thank you so much for naming this station in my honor, my friend! It means a lot of me!

Oh, and congratulations on your growth statistic of 68 last week in the MD Stats! You're at such a pace right now, I can hardly keep up!

Excellent work here, as always!
