Masochist

Here are a couple of shots of a hill top development I spent a bit of time trying to fix.  Before this, it looked absolutely terrible, and the fact that it was on a hill was very noticeable.  What I tried to do is make it look nice, and at the same time hide the fact that it was on a hill by cutting down on the Maxis retaining walls as much as possible (and Jeronij helped me out quite a bit, unbeknowest to him ;)).  I've shown it quite a bit on this site, but hey, why not once more?

Here's an area I'm planning on working on (I think I've already shown it somewhere around here, but as it's on a hill...).  I tried to keep cliffs down to a minimum here, as I plan on zoning for houses (and they'll probably make enough of them themselves).  Quite a bit of Jeronij influence here, as well (P. S. Pay no attention to that beach...that comes later  &sly):

Shadow Assassin

Well, I have one. :P

This suburb is built on a hill. If it doesn't look obvious... I don't know what to say to that :P

Very nice, Matt.

Would the name 'Galston' be derived from the village of Galston, in the northern areas of Sydney (I'm very familiar with that area :P)?

Everyone has shown some very interesting and creative ways for working with slopes (and they all seem to add a sense of realism to the pics). I particularly like the rowhomes by the university (matt325). I'm not sure whether this qualifies as building on slopes or with them, but I like them, and can always use suggestions. I'm using these as a way to prepare for an upcoming project that I'll be working on.

It looks very good, threestoges!

I like the way you preprared flat space for the rail line, it is wider than the rail needs. This is much more realistic.

One question: where can I find this rail texture? It looks very well on diagonal pieces, I must have it!  &hlp

Thank you very much Ennedi. At some points, the width of the land was just a side effect of the levelling process, but it is fairly realistic (though there are some places where tracks are right on the edge of a cliff). The mod/rail texture I'm using is PEG's Alternative Rail Set Mod and was originally acquired at ST (but their search feature is acting up right now so I can't give you the link there) but you can also find it here at PEG's Site along with a bunch of other great things in the PLex. There are some small "notches" on the diagonals at he edges of the grid squares, but, in my opinion, they don't detract much from the overall look.

Matt, I haven't had time to drop in lately, your work is fantastic. It really shows off what someone can do with talent, patience and creativity.  &apls
