Beautiful park - nothing if not a monkey's paradise. Just look at all those things to swing on, and as if that isn't enough, the whole place is surrounded by banana palms! Gangway!

Going Ape...



Some of the monkeys living in Baboonsburgh get a little wild and crazy from time to time. Well, maybe a LOT wild and crazy. But, they are monkeys you know. Sometimes, the young monkeys in the neighborhood skate down the street in their skateboards and hold up traffic. Occasionally, they slip on a banana peel. But, that's why the monkeys have a helmet law.



Be careful, young monkey!

Around the park, monkeys of all ages gather around to swing from vines and pick lice off of one another. Generally, it is a peaceful gathering.


The park is a great place to "hang out"


Some of the more daring little monkeys will swing from the pedestrian bridge.... But, that would make the little monkeys quite naughty. If their parents find out, there will be some howler monkey level yelling...

But, if the monkeys can get home without getting caught...



Curious George's nephew lives just a block away from the park.





He has been known to skate down there or ride his bike. He loves to have fun in the sun. His mom encourages him to "go bananas" and so he does.



He passes by stately George Place, the civic center of town, named after King C. George III.



He also rides down fashionable Gorilla Gates Avenue, home of some great boutiques and specialty shops.

Every MI business has the official "monkey business" Chamber of Commerce seal of approval.

The Chamber of commerce meets here every Wednesday afternoon...



Meetings are open to the public and complimentary bananas are served.

Before we head out to explore the last corner of Monkey Island, let us stop off for souvenirs...

Indeed you have made a great start on Monkey Island in the new year. Great parks which I'll probably end up shamelessly copying!
