Btw, I'm pretty sure you mixed up the Nashville/Chattanooga maps in the 2nd pak.

Fixed.

Hey Troy,
Great to see some more maps.
I have never really worked on a map with rivers, might be interesting.
Awesome work.
Robin

You're kidding right? :P Well then, hope that you enjoy working on them

Can I ask what the eastern most longitude of the Memphis map is? The TN maps look very accurate as far as I can tell.

I have no idea, I don't do latitude/longitude $%Grinno$% when I gather DEM data from the USGS site.  You don't need to there because they actually label it [cities/highways etc] on the DEM map they provide.  They look accurate because they are

Oh... duh... ::)  I was hoping that my suburb would be on there, but it seems to be too far west(east) ??? to be on that map. Oh well. At least I can make the riverfront. :P

Germantown- Collierville: Home to one of the largest collections of mega-houses in the nation (or so it seems %confuso)

Not that I really care or anything. Topography isn't terribly interesting.

Does this the area you're looking for, or should I go grab a larger area?

I never asked you to do me a region, but I ask you now ;D
So, I ask you if you could do a map of the north of Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France (if you want to have more informations about it, go to www.geoportail.fr, or go to google Earth ;))

#650
Request Announcement:  At this time, papab2000 and I will only take a limited number of  requests for U.S. maps only.  Any requests for areas outside of the U.S. will be completed after the two of us have released the U.S. Map Paks we already have done, except those requested international areas above this post.

I can't say how long that will be before we begin releasing more international maps, but the earliest would be sometime in late May or June.  The reason being is that papab2000 and I have mapped most of the U.S. and just want to get them out of the way and off our harddrives.  After that, well, it'll be an international map candy store so to speak, beginning with Italy, the French Riviera and Australia.

I'd love to see Sacramento.  I read your post earlier that it's not the easiest map to render though

blade2k5

No it's not.  Large parts of Sacramento are below sea level, but since I've been able to do some of the Louisiana maps without too much trouble, I just my give it another whirl.

I personally would love to see the length of the Mississippi River Valley done.   Say starting in the North (read Minnesota) down it's lenght untill ya get to the delta (read Louisiana).   I'd love to have it as one long narrow region.   LOL     I've always thought the US would have been very kool if it had developed North to South (or South to North would be more likely) instead of East to west as it did.     Then someplace like St Louis or Kansas City would have been the capital instead of Washington DC.    Just a suggestion since you already have some of the major places done already, like New Orleans and Memphis.     Okay I admit it I just wanna see Dubuque, Ia done.   LMAO     But you gotta admit that mapping the leghth of the Mississippi would be kool.

Gaston, such a map would be indeed kool, however it can't be accurately scaled. It would have to be scaled down A LOT! Most of the detail (hills, valleys etc) will be lost, small lakes and water bodies completely will disappear completely, and of course don't expect any realistic-looking river; all rivers will need to be artificially widened in order to just look like rivers, and they will still be some few tiles wide. Sorry, don't like to be the bad guy here, but that's how the map will look like. Plus I don't know if it's feasible at all; the conversion/scaling program (SC4Mapper ?) will have to load so many DEM data, that the computer may not be able to handle. Blade could give you a more definite answer on this.

Gaston

cogeo, thanks for the answer.   lol   I sorta figured it would be damm near impossible.   LOL    I just figured if we can build on such a huge scale map as 3RR then maybe it could be done in sections like that.   say broken into 4 or 5 regions.     Thanks again for the answer though.

I was wondering if you could do Adelaide Australia. i know u have already done it but could u put in the rivers like the port river and torrens river. Also could you make the le fevre peninsula a bit longer and thinner like this?

Kitsune

Hey blade, once your set to do international maps again a scale Map of Sudbury Ontario would be nice, all 3200 square km and 330 lakes of it. I imagine with todays tech available its plausible to do, but the terrian differences in the city might mean some lakes have to be left out.

Thats actually possible, I can do that, to scale down the map most possible, I have done several RL place that are over 200 square km  scaled into only 20 square km

Gaston, thats a quite great idea, if you realy want this map i can do one for u without no problem, Troy can't help you now, but sure I can and quickly do it,please give me a map of the enitire area you want previewed.
