Some absolutely stunning pics in your past million or so updates since i last visited! lol. Keep up the fab work :)

First of all a big thanks to Dustin for moving Balnavia out of the basement and back into the show window   :)

It has been quite awhile since the last update and I apologise for the delay. My PC has been the major culprit,
with a bit of RL thrown in. After Dustin reinstated Balnavia yesterday, I suffered another major PC crash, but
I think this is now resolved. Well at least I've been able to access the game again and get back to work.

A big thankyou to threestooges, bat, warconstruct, Jmouse, paroch, dsrwhat316, Pat, Simpson, art128, TTC
and pipishere for your comments following the last update. Always appreciated guys

Balnavia

So Balnavia. Well I have been working on it for most of the day, but I'm not ready for a full update. Here is
a preview of where things are at:

Cattai continues to grow but with that growth comes demand. Redcliffe and Hawks Nest have appeared nearby
to meet some of that. Both are in early stages of development but here are a few preview pics:-

Redcliffe

Hawks Nest

So not a lot to show for such a long break, but I am commited to making regular updates as long as my PC holds together  :-[

Look out for something a bit more substantial next weekend.

Cheers

Dave

Just popped back in to see what's new, and look what I found! I can even be first in line to welcome you back into the active category! ()flower()

Redcliffe is already shaping up to be a showcase for your unique style of design. The curves and circles you've used look great. Then Hawk's Nest has a completely different look, perfectly suited to the industry it supports.

It may have been awhile since your last venture into Balnavia, but you haven't lost one bit of the magic touch that makes it special.

Later (but not quite so long next time ;) )...

Jmouse: Thanks Joan. Was a little rusty but soon got back into things. And some new toys to play with too, NAM for one.

Simpson: Hi David, it's good to be back. Thanks for dropping by.

paroch: Thanks mate

art128: Hi Arthur, wouldn't be Balnavia without the odd roundabout  ;) Thanks

bat: Thanks bat

Sciurus Thanks

Ennedi Hi Adam, appreciate you dropping by. I'm somewhat curious about my future plans to  :) Let me know if you find out anything.  ;)

Pat: Hello Pat, thanks

Hawks Nest

Well there was one small island in Hawk's nest that I just had to develop so here it is:

As I said, not a large area, but a qood place to try out some of the new NAM puzzle pieces.

I've approached the shoreline a little differently this time. Not too sure about the rocks. Let me know what you think.

And just one more pic of the industrial area across the river.

Time to get back to work.

Cheers

Dave

Seems I've missed commenting on a bit, but well done. I think the fourth pic of the recent update really shows off the angled curve in a fine light. They look so natural there, you would think the game had been designed with them. Well made pieces used by an excellent player, a sure source for fine pics. Good to see you back around again. Hope all is going well with you.

It's great to see a new update here! Nice work on that! That little island in Hawks Nest looks gorgeous!

Battlecat

Beautiful update!  I think the rocks around the island work quite nicely!

Pat

Dave great update here and I like how you laid some pipes down from the water treatment plants there!!!

Jmouse

The island in Hawk's Nest turned out to be a perfect testing ground for our fabulous new NAM elements. You've used just enough curves to compliment the island's shape without overdoing it.

And I like the way you've done the rocks - gives me some ideas. Overall, Hawk's Nest looks like a great place to live and work - attractive neighborhoods, a touch of commercial and industry handy but not too close for comfort.

Looking forward to more, more, more...
;)

Hey Dave,
this island looks awesome my friend.
Very nice use of curves. The seashore is fantastic, excellent mix of rocks and Flora.
Also, the choice of houses is great too !

Arthur.

threestooges: Thanks Matt. I always enjoy experimenting with something new and the NAM add-ons
just get better and better.

bat: It was a while between post, but I can always count on you to drop by. Thanks bat

Battlecat: Thanks for the feedback Battlecat

Pat: It's what flows down the pipes you have to worry about  ;). Thanks Pat.

Jmouse: Thanks Joan. The curves were a bit of an experiment. Next test is to try them out in the mountains
sometime soon. By the way, have I ever mentioned you should start another MD  ::)

art128: Thanks Arthur. To be honest the houses are always a bit of hit and miss. I don't have seperate plugin
folders for various cities, it's just one very big folder used for the region. And believe me, there is stuff in their that
surprises me sometimes.

Simpson: Appreciate the comments David, thanks.

Redcliffe

Ok, Redcliffe has really taken off. It is mainly a combination of higher density residential and commercial with a bit of
industrial thrown in. So here is a whole pile of pics to have a look at. Hope you enjoy (apologies for the number of pics).

You have seen a little of this before the area was fully complete. Not bad for a bingo hall is it.

One of my favourite schools, courtesy of JBSimio

Above, the local shopping precinct and below, one of the new NAM rail junctions.

Crime must be low, no grafitti on those carriages.

Along the coastline

A NAM curve or two. And did I mention some high density commercial.....

Normally I plop these areas, but this is 90% growable which accounts for a little bit of duplication.

There is only one avenue that connects the commercial precinct to the mainland. To ease some congestion, there
are two ferry terminals as well as a subway network.

Look forward to any feedback, good or bad. Not sure where to next, stay tuned.

Cheers

Dave
